kaakaa: They might call you to show evidence of payment and and then zero balance....the probability is very high. Even if you use the visa for the purpose, why they are inviting you is to purposely confirm that you paid all your bills |

Hello House, So last week I created a new DS-160 Form to upload my passport photo properly as I learnt that I won't be allowed in to the interview if it's not it uploaded. Thanks to @urblackpearl I was successful with that. I also notified the support@UStravels docs team and even though I didn't see the update from their end, I logged into my profile and update it with the new DS-160 Form number and then printed my new Interview Confirmation page. At the Visa Centre however, I wasn't allowed to go in for my interview because the update was just done the day before and hadn't reflected on their system. No explanations were listened to. Then Hubby said he wasn't going to go for his interview cus we applied together... I insisted that he did his while I waited for him in the car and THANK GOD He was given a visa. I don't have the detailed transcript cus I wasn't there but in summary, it was really smooth. He was asked where he works, where I work, where he's travelled to before, where I have travelled to before, reason for our visa application, my EDD, Name of hospital we want to use in the US, what our budget is. No support document was requested or looked at. Now my challenge, we went back to reschedule and the earliest date at first was 22nd Dec then it became 27th Dec and so hubby and I panicked and chose it before it will change to Jan 2018. I'm due end of Jan 2018 by GOD'S Grace and I'm expected to be at the hospital in the US in December. In fact per most airline policies I've seen I need to travel by mid December. I want to submit an emergency request and ask for an expedited date. Information here (I've searched with the word expedited) and even on the website is a bit confusing... on the US Visa website, I don't see anywhere it says to pay again for expedited but info I've gotten so far I've been told I will need to pay again. Pls house can anybody experienced with expedited interview date / emergency request help me with the actual interpretation of what I need to do. Wdo I pay another visa fee? If yes, is it before I get approval for my emergency request or after? Please I want to get this done next week by GOD'S Grace. I'm out of Lagos for the next two months till it's time to travel. Please I appreciate your response. |

Lanifat84:Goodmorning my dear NLers, Pls if you would remember, a few weeks ago I was asking for the difference between discount and financial assistance cos a hospital in NYC was going to give me financial aid due to the fact that I'm self pay ,And they told me it has nothing to do with Medicaid or insurance . But I've been scared of the aid. They have made me understand that most govt hospital's do this same financial assistance program. Someone recently proved to me that even the OAKBEND we use is also a govt hospital and grant this same aid to uninsured, self pay patients. Pls you people should help me look at this closely let me make a decision plsssss https://www.oakbendmedcenter.org/self-payfinancial-assistance/ |

No you don't pay another visa fee, just log on to your dashboard and click on emergency appointment, choose medical and explain why you missed the first appointment, explain the available dates and tell them that will make you miss your doctors appointment, upload the following documents: info from hospital, doctor's info and doctor's confirmation of appointment. They'll respond the following day and tell you to choose a date. Goodluck OnJosh1: 1 Like 1 Share |

Hi dear, you can cancel your appointment and with the same receipt book an appointment in Abuja. I just did that for my mum because the earliest I booked initially for Her was dec 22 in Lagos and we needed to travel before 28 nov. additional that emergency date is very tricky and based on their requirements, I don’t think you qualify cos yours is voluntary medical trip not that it’s an emergency Hello House, So last week I created a new DS-160 Form to upload my passport photo properly as I learnt that I won't be allowed in to the interview if it's not it uploaded. I bought British Airways ticket for my family to El Paso Texas. While purchasing the ticket the British Airways attendant who sold the ticket stated that my daughter's ticket will be changed to infant and on seat for the return trip. She gave us a number to call prior to our return so they can ensure it is done. My wife gave birth and we called the number severally, the customer care directed us to American Airline, we called American Airline, the representative said we should speak to British airways. Then my wife called British Airway helpline again. When nothing was done she went to El Paso Airport but no british airways customer care office. So she kept on calling British Airways helplines (US and UK). I went to the Lagos Airport office and they said they cannot get it done, that I should call a number. I wasted my airtime. When I got angry they fixed it and gave me another ticket for my daughter. Unknown that this was just the beginning of poor customer service. My wife called the US office to book our new born on her ticket so she can fly, after several delays they did and told her to call back in 48hrs. She called back and they posted her to call back again, she called back the following day and same thing happened but she insisted that they must tell her the fare price for the new born so she can pay before the travel date. After the struggle the customer representative gave her a fare price and said she has to go to Dallas airport to pay, that they do not accept payment online or via phone call. So British Airways expects my wife and new born to travel 11hrs on road from El Paso to Dallas just to pay? I tried paying from Lagos, they did not accept, I called all British Airways helpline I got but same story, until I argued on phone with one of their customer representative, who then went to the manager to find a solution and said that he will make another booking and give me a fare price but I will pay in Naira at any GTBank. He did it and I immediately went to a GTBank to pay. I got the ticket in 24hrs and forwarded the mail to my wife. On getting to the airport, the attendant said she cannot find any of our flight details on their system, he was jumping from one system to another and delayed my family. After about 45 minutes of holding our passports, he said he cannot check us in again that boarding gate is closed (meanwhile we still had 35 minutes more before the departure). My family missed their flight. Now British airways said we should pay $2500 to reschedule. Who does this?. I WILL NOT ADVISE MY ENEMY TO FLY BRITISH AIRWAYS. IT IS ADVISABLE TO USE OTHER AIRLINES TO US, ESPECIALLY FOR PREGNANT WOMEN, BECAUSE OF THE STRESS TO GET YOUR NEW BORN ON THE TICKET. PLEASE STAY OFF. 1 Like |

michnib: Awww, so sorry about the inconveniences. I flew BA for my 2 missionary trips and I didn't have this issue. I guess the reason u re having this issue is cos ur flight from El Paso is with American Airline . My flight is always with BA from the departure airport in US. I think you should call their US Call Center and explain to them, maybe they can be of help. How would you pay $2500 to re schedule their tickets. |

Datam: Thanks a lot Datam, thing is I thought you can only reschedule twice on the same Visa fee. I have rescheduled once now and I'm worried that if I cancel and Abuja is now too far off for me as well, I can't reschedule again. Pls correct me if I'm wrong can I reschedule more than twice on the same visa fee? And there's more to my wanting to do the interview in Lagos. At the moment I'm out of town (Had to leave for work outside Lagos where I mentioned I'll be for the next two months) and I've already made plans to be in Lagos next week... took a lot of extra to get that done. Now to switch to Abuja. Chaiii... I'm so confused and tired and all because I didn't pay attention the first time! |

Chirolechick: Okay dear, just to be extra sure with my planning this time... If I want to do the interview on say Thursday, is Monday too early or too late to submit the emergency request? Hubby and I checked for a trend this week and noticed that when you click the emergency request option it shows you the next day as interview date. Or should I just send the request today (do they respond over the weekend)? Thank you so much for your response. |

Better you do it now, the earlier the better, I don't know about weekend responses, but you will get a response on monday and they'll let you know the earliest appointment date OnJosh1: |

Please help a sister. Hubby and i were denied visa last week. I want to reapply alone as he isn't really interested in travelling. I was to go to New York and i stated it that i have a family friend there. I also filled his contact in the form but there was no correspondence from the doctor and hospital before i went for my interview. I've been able to get correspondence from a doctor and hospital in Chicago. I also have a friend in Chicago she' s willing to accommodate but can't give me an invitation letter I have appointment for 26th of this month but yet to submit the form and I need to travel before the end of November. Please, i need advice on what to do. Plus i'm repeating the interview in abuja. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Babatwi: 12:55pm On Oct 21, 2017 |
Lian1217: I don't see any big deal in changing your location to Chicago. Is the friend that wants to accommodate you in Chicago and can't give you invitation letter in the US legally? If no,i would advice you to forget filling her address on the form cause the VO & the Poe officer might also want to know if she is there legally. You can go to booking.com and book a hotel accommodation that you don't have to pay for till you get to the US. You can now use the hotel address and reservation for your visa application and poe. After clearing poe,you can then cancel the hotel reservation and go to your friends place.. 3 Likes |

michnib: This, right here is the story of my life! This very thing happened to me on my first missionary journey in 2015. I also missed my flight cos of BA's bad customer service. I however refused to pay any money to reschedule cos it was dre fault. I kept calling and thratening them until they rescheduled my flight and my baby's to 2 days later. Still, American Airlines insisted i paid 200$ for my infant's bag before i could board on the date i was rescheduled to. Their excuse was that BA didnt notify them that i would be travelling with a baby from Alabama to Dallas. I was told BA only added the baby from Dallas to Lagos. So i had to pay 200$ for his bag but they would let the baby board cos its free for babies to travel by air within the US. I advise that you keep calling them until someone sensible picks up, you shouldnt pay any money to reschedule cos its dre fault |

Good evening my people. Pls I need urgent advise and enlightement on this issue. I got B1/b2 visa for me and my family to go for Easter break last March but we couldn't make the trip due to my work. But we are planning to go by next year Easter which is March ending. But now I discovered my wife is pregnant and we are planing that if we travel that next year March she shd stay back and have the baby and come back after the child birth in Houston. Her due date is ending of June or early July. And we will travel by March ending 2018. We have family to stay with there but we are yet to get a doctor and hospital for her which I believe we will get by grace of God. My issue is that shd we inform the embassy of change of intent because of point of entry issue, and when buying tickets me am going to stay for just two weeks but she and the kids will stay back until after delivery they will be coming back with new baby. When buying the ticket shd I buy two weeks for my self and like 5months for them cos of the duration of her coming back. Pls advise me am so confused here. Plsss Biko. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Supernaturalone: 11:58pm On Oct 21, 2017 |
Why do you have to be so confused? If you've followed this thread, you'll realise that the advice from even the visa officers on similar scenarios is for your wife to get another visa, for the purpose childbirth, to avoid unnecessary issues at the POE. She should ensure that she does it through an interview, so that she has an opportunity to disclose that intent to them snd provide all relevant information and go with all the necessary paperwork. Oncr this is done, you can purchase your tickets as intended, for the varying durations for you and the family. I wonder, though, how she plans to cope with 2 kids plus one on the way for that duration of time. litylity55: 2 Likes |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by dere5: 6:42am On Oct 22, 2017 |
litylity55: The only problem I see here is that your visa was not used for what it was gotten for,so you have two options you might want to explore. 1. This is the ideal option, your wife should do her homework and apply for a new medical visas and come clean. 2.Send the change of intent letter, buy 2wks ticket for yourself and 5months for your wife and kids, and make sure that their (your wife and kids) ticket is a flexible one i.e. that you can change dates for a small fee, don't go and buy those promo tickets where they ask for an arm & a leg when you want to change dates. This route is not advisable cause your wife might have issues renewing her visa. 1 Like |

I applied for renewal of visa via dropbox and i was told to schedule a follow appointment;my question is why was i asked to come for an interview, when i got the visa i was asked if i was going to use the visa for childbirth purpose and i said yes and d VO even gave me a form that had all the requirment needed for medical purpose,i used the visa to travel 3 times, vacation first and 2 childbirth and also i always tell them at the POE am here for childbirth,am a bit confused as why i was asked to book a follow up,beause i never hid my intentions, please has anyone had this experience and how was it ,i have my appointment for Thursday.. |
