Out of the 18 yrs of civil rule, the yorubas have had 8 yrs as president and presently vice president. Obasanjo is a kingmaker today in Nigeria, are you in doubt? How many years have the hausas ruled within same period? Now, you that is not a slave, how many years have you ruled? Even vice sef, you no see. grin
Stop dragging people into the fight you single handedly sought after. cheesy

This is the lamest statement I've ever seen on nairaland...you need an award for this, you are talking about the rulers from your region and from the north, yes you have them all, but how have they improved your regions, you are still wallowing in abject poverty, both financially and mentally....take heed my brother and be not deceived...

You mean even the oil that can't power an ordinary barbing salon generator from Imo and Anambra is what makes them oil producing? Ondo state alone beat the combined output of those two states 5 times. Abeg crude oil and palm oil are not same, stop confusing them. Lol, he even add Abia grin.

I don't know about Azikiwe's "stupid" legacy But Please whenever you mention the name Obafemi Awolowo, Please do it with respect. He was more of a leader than all the leaders churned up by all sides of this country since his death in the 80s.

He brought tribalism to politics when Zik wanted to rule western region and other policies but thats not the aim of this post. Our so called heroes didnt leave a good example and thats why we are where we are now

NEXT TIME IGBOS CALL YORUBAS COWARDS, BETRAYALS, SHOW THEM THIS POST...

During the June 12, 1993 Presidential election, Abiola won only Anambra State, the other South East States voted for Tofa (a northerner). Cross River, Delta, Edo voted for Abiola. An Igbo person (Arthur Nzeribe) got an overnight black-market judgment to annul Abiola's election; when it was becoming obvious that he would win.

Note that the Igbo man together with a northerner (the judge) and military dictator IBB(another northerner) saw to the annulment of the election. I need not remind you that the Electoral Chairman (Professor Humphrey Nwosu ) at that time was also an Igbo man. In 2008 he published a book in which he claimed that Babangida was not to blame for annulling the election.

During the fights to restore democracy, great Nigerians like Frank Kokori, Alfred Rewane, Ken Saro Wiwa, Kudirat Abiola, Gani Fawehinmi, Abraham Adesanya, Wole Soyinka and other democracy activists fought against Abacha. Some of them were killed, others hounded out of the country, Odumegwu Ojukwu and his colleagues were busy frolicking with Abacha, he even traveled to the US at a time to shore up the image of Abacha (a northerner who was trying to turn himself into a democratic life-president).
That reminds me, another "Kanu" back then organized the "Youth Earnestly Ask for Abacha" rally. Onyeka Onwenu sang the praises of Abacha at the rally.

These guys wined and dined with the conservative northern oligarchs back in the day; but now that the arrangement is no longer suitable, they think burning down the country should be the only way out. Me think, that is childish; only infants try to scatter the game when they lose.

Till date, no Yoruba group has come out to call Igbo people "betrayals", "cowards" or "animals" for the action of some Igbo elites. We understand that the elites do not represent an entire ethnic group.

Next time, they call Yoruba people betrayals show them this post; next time they call us cowards, tell them, the only successful offensive ever undertaken by Biafra against Nigerian territory was led by a Yoruba man, Victor Banjo. Remind them also that cowards don't build empires.

They should also be reminded that their enemy is not the man from the other tribe, but their own "elites". They should learn to hold their leaders to account.
one is here

Yes, I know you are the owner of the world and that is why you are busy developing the entire universe, agreed. The yorubas have held the position of the president for 8 years out of the 18 yrs of civil rule, they are presently the vice. Which other appointment in Nigeria is higher than being the president. If being a president for almost 50% of the Republic and continued domination of the politics translate to slavery, then what is the status of those who have not smelt the seat of the vice within same period? I don't know their status but of course far far less than slavery. cheesy

You keep asking questions on what the north add to naija without telling us what the SE contribute. Abeg, tell me wetin SE dey add for the economy.
Agriculture has been the contribution of the north to the economy (find out the meaning of GDP from economists). Tell me what SE contribute that stops them from being the worst parasites since you say the north is a parasite despite her contribution. If the SE say they are leaving Nigeria duly supported by their leaders (not the miscreants called Igbos) Nigeria is more than willing to allow those 5 States to leave.
I repeat, stop dragging "yoruba moslems" into your fight, na you look for the fight and na you alone go fight am, "afonjas" are not ready to come along.

We were and are are president, so who is the slave? Stop making it complex, one at a time pls. If it is about development, let's face. Stop jumping from being slaves to development, it is rather getting the whole thing wobbled up. Stick to one at a time. If it is development, that is even where there are more to talk about.

Bro, let's be frank with ourselves, we the followers are as much to blame as the leaders.

The leaders are able to sew seeds of tribalism and discord because the land (I.e, we the led) is fertile. Now the "leaders" are reaping a bountiful harvest at our expense, smiling to the bank while pitting us against ourselves through religion and ethnic differences.

God help this country.
