The bible is not a fairy tale, although long long ago, in a far away kingdom, there was once a talking walking snake...

NPComplete: Ironically Voltaire said these very words below when referring to Jesus. "Curse the wretch!” “Every sensible man, every honorable man, must hold the Christian sect in horror ...Christianity is the most ridiculous, the most absurd and bloody religion that has ever infected the world.” He also boasted, “In twenty years Christianity will be no more. My single hand shall destroy the edifice it took twelve apostles to rear.” However, Some years later, Voltaire’s house was used by the Geneva Bible Society to print Bibles. I guess Jesus laughed last Cc realmindz 2 Likes 1 Share |

Sarassin: Correct, or because the Bible was a Jewish focused book. Or because of the lawful genocides, land grabbing and cannibalism, not to mention zombies on the streets of Judea ( this one has no evidence) cos the Bible said so. All because the God of it labels it "his will" Even blessing some psychopaths for stoning an individual or throwing a new born to the wall. Abeg, we just have to focus on developing ourselves instead of folding our hands and expecting the same kingdom of God that our forbears and even those of old as far back as 1500BC. SMH... developed countries didn't wait for a miracle, they made their own miracles through critical thinking and innovations. Make we learn small. At least if the religion you subscribe to gives you peace, don't try to label those who don't want it or try disturbing people all in the name of evangelism. Babalawos too now advertise theirs o too; can that be called an ATR evangelism? We're just creating a pit between ourselves and other fellow humans on the planet, creating rivals and all these leading to wars of "my God is better and bigger than your God" I don't like discussing my core convictions because many people are just intolerant of other ideas but they'll expect you tolerate theirs. You preach to me about your convictions but don't want anyone to preach to you about their own convictions. Man, watch thyself, you're becoming retarded and stiff-necked. IMHO... TRY AND SEE ALL IS ONE AND ONE IS ALL.... 1 Like |

Scholar8200: Its simply and example. Am using Islam as a perfect example that completely counters your logic. I know many pastors that have stated that Islam is the religuon of the devil and it will be destroyed . The pastors are no more while Islam is on the rise to be the biggest religion on earth. You guys always sound funny. Just recently christians here were showing some projections that claim that atheism will drop in numbers in the near future and mastubating all over it. The same PEW research center that conducted the research and made the projection has stated that Islam will become the largest religious group in the near future and I notice that when ever that is mentioned christians will start saying that it's an unsure projection. 1 Like |

butterflyl1on: You are smarter than this na. You and I know many people have also said the same or worst against Mohammed and Islam. Some are still doing that today. I guess Mohammad and Islam have the last laugh then. How does this argument prove Christianity and the bible since it also proves Islam if we are going by the number of dead scoffers? 2 Likes |

Dalam0n:I am free to refer to any part of history relevant to the topic of the thread, if you want to promote Islam, pls opening a thread here is free. Besides, the reference here was to a NL on this thread that claimed that in a couple of years , Christians etc will be extinct. I wonder then why the flaring up and reference to Islam! Let's just wait for the next couple of years to prove the speaker right or wrong. 1 Like |

butterflyl1on: Of course, but we all know the bible's figures are more accurate. At least from the bible, about 6,000 years ago, we know the earth and the sun were created. The bible also taught us of the stars, tiny little dots in the sky. The bible taught us of two great lights, the sun and the moon. And the bible gave a perfect analysis of the future, a future of flying donkeys, bows and arrows, scrolls and dragons as against rockets, jets, missiles, tabs etc the bible spoke of a tower but we never mentioned the pyramids, of course not necessary. The bible mentioned of the heavens but we never heard of any planet, of course that knowledge is not necessary... |

Scholar8200: It's a failed derail attempt. How did Islam get into a thread about the Bible and it's ban in certain countries? Some people just talk so they can be heard but make zero sense. |

Dalam0n:There was no need bringing it here to start with! Someone on this thread said something similar to Voltaire hence the reference to how the latter's claims played out! Reason and logic is that we wait and see how that of the NL will play out! Not bringing in another religion to the mix! Till now that one has not brought out someone from 18th or 19th century with similar personal commitment to extirpate the Quran, what then? |

OLAADEGBU: Why is it 'impossible to hate something that doesn't exist'? Nonsense! It is precisely because god doesn't exist that I hate them so much! When you read about Jehova's Witnesses who refused to let their child get a blood transfusion because their god said so, when you see Islamist Muslims shriek "Allahu Ackbar! God is Great!" before murdering innocent civilians in London and Paris, when you see a bunch of mad people hooting and stomping in prayer outside of a burning textile building for their god to put the fire out, what other response can one give other that hatred!? The "god" that so many billions believe in results in so many idiosyncratic cruelties worldwide it's not funny. |

They know they can't defend their Jewish folklore so they'll do whatever to push it aside and change the subject. After all some of them here have openly admitted that atheist always want to dwell on the bible making it difficult for them. |
