Was there ever unity between Igbos and yorubas?abeg the thread was created by a yoruba.
Opakan2is a yoruba muslim from Kogi or Kwara. He is a yoruba fulani wannabe.
Edu3Again:
This post is simply put up by a Northerner to cause problems in the South, so we dont unite.

Look at the OP's profile its a new profile to cause disunity btw the Igbos & Yorubas.
The North is scared of a united South.

Calling Igbo's a race made me so proud that I'd ignore every other thing you posted but just knw nothing last forever you will need Igbo's help one day... do not let the stupid legacies of Awolowo and Azikiwe separate the south

Abeg, he is a yoruba muslim.
Edu3Again:

This is another Almajiri who is scared of living on his own and wants to continue living off the south.
He just opened his account in Oct this year to make use he causes disunity, so he can keep on being a parasite to the south.

What does sw contribute to Nigeria?
I expect you to be at the forefront of Biafraexit. But no. It's to throw insults about and ask silly questions. The highest antagonist of Biafra are yorubas.
stop asking stupid questions and fight for the exit of the non contributors.
python1:

Wetin SE dey contribute for naija? Oops, e don change topic from "Northerners causing disunity" to "northerners are parasites" cheesy so the yoruba moslems are now friends? Lol. Fight your fight alone, no carry anybody along. grin

Like Azikwe to Sardauna and Tafawa Balewa. Like Ekweme to Shagari, like Arthur Nzeribe to Abacha, like the one million march organized by eboes for Abacha... while slaving, these animals never remembered that they were marginalized, and never shouted biafra? Naturally worthless group of humans. Their existence and value is earned entirely from sentiments and propaganda.

We all know from day 1 who the real cowards are… Yorubas have always been freedom fighters, we have Yorubas (Soyinka) who went to jail for thier struggle(Biafra) …..Col Banjo did same….. Ask them to name 1 igbo that has done qtr they will instead resort to insults

Even their brother, Ojukwu fled after he has led many many of them to their death..

@OP, you forgot to mention that it was still the yorubas that sold their brother MKO to accept head of interim govt and then president after mko died.

The Hausas know it that if the entire south can ever agree to agree that will be their end of holding on to power.

They saw it when GEJ became president hence they quickly alligned with the west.
The moment they sense the west is becoming heady they will romance with the east. That's their strategy which we are too blind to see. Divide and rule strategy.

It is left for the victims of a loopsided union to eschew bitterness, ethnic rivalry and confront the common enemy. The VP deep inside his heart lknoww it that he is an outsider in this govt, only nature helped him to even have a say when bubu was sick he couldn't function, but even at that only him knows he never truly was in charge.

The Tribalistic Abiola Told Arthur Nzeribe That He 'Can' Rule Nigeria Without Igboman, And The Rest Is History. The Detribalised Obasanjo Lost Both His First And Second Tenure Elecations In Yorubaland. The Whole Southeast Masively And Overwhelming Voted Him Along side North And Southsouth.

Don't rewrite history. Obj won all states in South west in his second tenure with the exception of Lagos state

Exactly. I don't know how they were raised to harbour such hatred. We were never taught to hate any tribe. The amount of hate coming from Igbo's was a genuine shock to me.

They just think they're better humans with a superior culture and consider themselves more intelligent and more hardworking than everybody else. To their consternation, Yoruba don't have time for such inanities and we basically just do us, for better or for worse. This zen-ness, so to speak, rankles them a lot. grin

And I do not believe you are Yoruba and taught to hate Igbos. Yoruba had no time for hatred. Most of us actually admired the Igbo's. No yorubas ever hated the igbos during the war. Growing up, the stories i heard from the older generation was about how the igbos were unfairly treated. The entire sympathy was with the igbos. But not anymore.

For me as a Yoruba lady, these past two years have really been an eye opener to see the way the Igbos truly view my people. And unfortunately we will never forget.

You deserve cake for this comment , especially the part in bold. The recent episode has been truly unfortunate.

I remember my late grandpa having a conversation with his cousin about how they collected and remitted rent for fellow landlords of igbo ethnicity during the war. If that isn't a show of humaneness, I don't know what is.

The south doesn't need to unite.

The entire country needs unity.

The moment you start to separate one from the group it is certain other groups would fallout.

Unity for the entire Nigerian state is always going to be in the realm of fantasy. The north do not want fairness, equity and justice. They are very comfortable with the unfair advantage their numerical superiority gives them.

They don't want restructuring. They don't want decentralisation of government. They are fine with students getting university admissions with abysmally low scores in UTME and WAEC. They are opposed to merit. Do you know how many useful brains Nigeria has lost because some dude from the north just has to fill some quota in Federal Unis? Our current system is madness and they love it because they don't have to apply themselves to get the best.

It's frustrating when you know some undeserving person somewhere is benefitting from something just because their a northerner. It is madness.

Dis one no go fly, talk another one.
Out of the 18 yrs of civil rule, the yorubas have had 8 yrs as president and presently vice president. Obasanjo is a kingmaker today in Nigeria, are you in doubt? How many years have the hausas ruled within same period? Now, you that is not a slave, how many years have you ruled? Even vice sef, you no see. grin
Stop dragging people into the fight you single handedly sought after. cheesy
Wetin the op dey ask be say, where were these "brave people" during Abacha regime? undecided
lol, the first civilian president was zik, an Igbo man. The first military president was ironsi, an Igbo man. The first vice president was ekwueme, an Igbo man. Same with senate leader and house of reps speaker. Your comment reeks of ignorance of history. Has any Hausa man ruled Nigeria before? No. So, before you make some comments, do yourself some good and carry out a little bit of research.

Lol, the post is in response to a previous comment implying that the yorubas are slaves to Hausas and I want to assume you are trying to refute my submission against that. If that is the case, what I see up here is total rubbish as it did not address it even in the least. Next time, go through conversation history before this naked display.

You are the one who is not speaking the truth. No Yoruba is trained to hate Igbos. You are Igbo and you are seeing the world as a reflection of yourself.

As for the bad roads in the South east, did they all spoil in 2015? Why didn't their saviour fix it for them before now? They claim to be the richest and wisest and most blessed of all tribes. Their region should be a small London by now.
