Hi guys.. I made a big name error when filling the visa appointment form. I forgot to input my surname.. just my other names. Should I go ahead n book appointment, then mail support to help me out with the error.. or I should wait till they help me rectify the error before booking the appointment. ?
Since you haven't booked an appointment, Just fill a new application form (DS-160) and use the new confirmation code to book an appointment.

Any thoughts/comments on landing at Newark Liberty International Airport New Jersey using Ethiopian Airlines.

I haven't read any Poe experiences at EWR and flight experiences with ET. The flight time is amazing & it's relatively cheap... just 13 hours. I wonder why people prefer Royal Air Maroc that has about 25 hours flight time with an 11 hour layover at Casablanca & same price range.

I don't think there is any difference on the flight you take with POE experience but your ability to defend your purpose in the US. ET Airlines is great. Flown it several times with no wahala. grin grin

And where in the US must you not be financially capable undecided

Dead zone: Is it the same Ohio that I'm in? undecided

I am talking about saving the extra cost of monthly expenses. For example the school i attended is well funded and offers student free transportation around the city saving you extra cost of spending money on public transport and car expenses. There are other benefits too i do not want to publicly mention

Oh yes, the palm oil they sell here ain't close to the original we have back home. They sell 'enu mmanu' here. grin

It’s crap. There’s this “Taste of Nigeria” one they’ve got where I live but even that’s not even close.

No I always make sure I stack up on ugu at least so I won’t just be chopping vegetable yam and okro soup with kale and spinach.

1. Selecting universities in big cities if you don't have extra funds lying around is just setting up yourself for trouble. Have you considered the cost of living in those cities? You can school in a farm and relocate to a city after graduation.

2. There are lots of good non-medical related programs out there. So you're advising an Engineer for example to into nursing??

3. I think if anyone doesn't know this by now, they shouldn't even have bothered looking for schools in the first instance

1. The cost of living depends on the location of the place. For example if you school in a big city like Chicago you have plenty of cheap housing options.its not a must to live in fancy areas

2. I do not know about engineering programs but i am advising first timers like high school student. The job demand in medical field can never die with what i see here

Can you explain a bit more why u suggest big cities or why medical related?

Bigger cities are more diverse in culture, more housing options, transportation etc things to help you settle down on time

There are 4000+ universities in USA, no one will help you to pick one.

Start researching by yourself using Google, bestschoolvalue, usanews and other search tools,

Or pay agents who will help you to do your research (not recommended)

Process what for you? Be wary of these agents. I am sure an agent processed your admission too else why would a B.eng(Mech) holder be going for an associate degree? How do you even explain this to the VO. If you can defend it just fine then your chances are as good as any.

Exactly. Hope he's prepared mentally for the outcome.

Guys pls i need a headup... i have applied for fall 2018 for Graduate degree in Biotech in US (I already have a bsc in biochem in Nigeria),i have uploaded all docs except financial statement wch am working on. Then out of the blues, my aunt called in and told me to apply for an undergraduate prog in nursing/health science in a univ in florida for Spring session 2018, she just mailed me the form n details. (she would also process it herself in d states via a contact friend). My questions are.... (1) with my age (close to 30) on my passport, would it be an issue to the VO that am applying for an undergraduate prog? (2) after applying for undergraduate prog for spring 2018, would it distort my application for graduate deg in fall 2018? Cos my details might be checked. Thanks in anticipation.

Only if you know that the chance of getting student visa as a grad student is higher than as an undergrad, you won't take the nursing suggestion. Not even after you already got BS.

For Engineering applicants who are looking for extra schools to apply to, you can check Michigan Tech, the graduate school application is free and you can upload GRE and Toefl score report but will have to request for official score report if you decide to enroll. It actually a decent school for Engineering, at least its ranked #62 for Civil Engineering. You have nothing to lose

Hehehehe. Femi, but you know say Dem stingy like mad for funding. I know at least 8 people (including me) that got in without funding. Their environmental engineering is ranked in the top 20, I think. But to give me funding ehn, Chai, e pain me. If you are applying here, just apply and pray that your circumstance will be different but don't go and be putting your mind on it. Else, you will be on a long thing.

Nice one bro.. where have you been since.
At SIUE I was accepted by Prof. Zhi-Qing Lin to join his research on Developing phytoremediation techniques for cleaning up trace elements from contaminated soil & water using phytovolatization - extraction & stabilazation. But he is being shady with the funding talk. I will take a look at this.. tnx.

Bro, allow me to just chook mouth in this one. Bro, explore every option when it comes to funding. If you have not been offered a funding letter, always assume you have nothing even if the professor has accepted you in his group and made verbal promise concerning funding. Things change very quickly and I learnt from experience. I wish you all the best.

Studying in U.S requires full attention. I'm sure you can't combine the stress of keeping up with your family with the rigorous studies in a new environment in your first semester. Go and start your first semester first, then you can start thinking of bringing your family over.

Bro most colleges waive TOEFL for students from Nigeria.. I'm very sure! A good SAT score of 1200 upward and a nice GPA of 3.0 and above should get him a full tuition at most if not full ride in most universities

To enhance your chances of funding, I suggest you write TOEFL remember you have competitors for the same slot.

imperiouxx,

Please I need your advice.

I want to study for my MSc in the US in any financial course as I have an MBA in Banking and a HND in Accounting in addition to being chartered with 3yrs work experience.

Are there schools that can waive GMAT for me to gain admission?

Thank you
