This is a great idea....Yes i believe the youth can make dream nigeria reality , but this days am losing my trust for the youth because of our love for money, if this is not carefully check with great measure then the youth government will be worst than this old people we talking of chasing out in this revolution . Am an apostle of change and i believe in the gradual process . Journey of millon years start with a step, i support!!

Fine ideology. If we do not get it right from the foundation, we may never get it right afterwards. This is the reality of Nigeria, today. This is the 21st Century Information age where a revolution can be fueled via the Internet.

When an era changes, new leaders appear. I see the next era is for people with vocal power and mental prowess. Barrack Obama proved that with all the ICT in the world and the techniques of Wall Street. What it takes to lead America lies in the strength of vocal/ charismatic intelligence - to communicate vision with precision and purpose.

"Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion.

Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare.

Impossible is potential.

Impossible is temporary.

Impossible is nothing.”

Permit me to propose the adoption of the slogan "YES, WE CAN" for NYRP.

lindabon:
It's sad that our country has been divided among religious and ethnic lines. It's a real shame. These oldies know that tribal sentiment and division is what they need to take them to the top. They play with our future like a game of ping-pong.Its all a game to them and they will never take us seriously unless we demand rapid change. No more failed incompetent governors and presidents running endless elections even after they have done nothing when they were previously in the position of power. I currently live abroad and seriously want to come back to my country, but even the mere mention of my intention is met with a pushback from friends and family as they honestly think me coming to Nigeria is the most idiotic thing I or anyone can think of. Of course, I have ignored their fears and I remain determined to relocate back home. No matter how many foreign passports you acquire, you are and will still remain Nigerian. Enough of this hopelessness in Nigerian. Yes, our country is bad, but Nigeria still belongs to us. We cannot run away nor escape it. Please create the groups as soon as possible.
Every now and then, I read Nigerian news to see if there is a positive movement, something to give me the motivation that my idea of coming back is not an idiotic one. But every time I read Nigeria news, there is nothing positive, same old garbage. How can these heartless politicians sleep at night with the state of affairs? How do they justify the plundering of our wealth and natural resources for their own selfish purpose?

The bad roads still affect them
The lack of electricity still affects them
The lack of good schools still affects them (which is why they opt to send their children abroad).
The lack of security still affects them too(leading to them paying a ridiculous amount for their own personal security).
The lack of good hospitals still affects them (you will see them traveling abroad to treat a mosquito bite).

So why do they not want to make our country better, knowing fully well that the state of the country affects us all? They don't care simply because they are stupid and brain dead. They have no vision nor do they have long-term goals for our country. They just want to use the money they are supposed to use for the develop our country to secure the future of their children abroad, thinking that by doing so, they will save their generation from the obvious mess they have created. Not knowing that this is not going to secure their children's future as we are still discriminated against and people will always look down on us unless we make our country relevant.
Look at the amount of money people pay for visas, even though a large majority of them are denied. Most of these countries impose ridiculous visa fees, knowing full well they have a cap on the number of applicants that they can give visa's to. Most of these countries foreign embassies are used to make big money for their own country. Imagine if this money is instead used in Nigeria to benefit Nigerian's instead of keeping it in the pockets of foreign embassies, who still treat us like garbage at their embassy, even in our own country.
I want every Nigerian to be able to hold their Nigerian passport and be proud of it when they are in any countries airport. I want every Nigerian to be taken seriously no matter the country they are traveling to. I want other countries to be interested enough to migrate to Nigeria with their talents which we can tap into, rather than the mass migration of Nigerians with their talent and skills out of the country. We are loosing at all front. We are loosing our highly talented and skilled countrymen and women, who take their talent to other countries where they will be valued. YES!!. Enough is Enough!! Please get the ball rolling ASAP. No dulling.
Good to see a female in support of us. You are highly welcome. Will soon create the necessary social media platforms to enable us kick off officially.

We need more expression of interest from nairalanders to give us a good start.

Great though.

I have dreamt about this long ago.
But there must a a guiding rules and regulations else the vision will hijacked and diverted.
.but the vision is to pull out from God fatherism. Once it cost u less and freewill loyalty of people to get to the top, then it will be easy to avoid been turned to a leave on the water.

We need a robust website that will accommodate youths registration registration which can be shared on all popular social media.

This vision has a long way to go if we can maintain it.

Good evening fellow concerned Nigerian youths. I want to thank you all for showing interest. I also want to congratulate us ahead of the great movement we are about to start in this great nation. I feel glad reading your positive responses and drive for change in our dear country, Nigeria. To be honest, it gladdens my heart reading your comments, it has given me more encouragement not to give up with this vision.

Please don’t forget the mission of the movement:

TO FORM A YOUTH DRIVEN POLITICAL PARTY THAT WILL HELP ELECT SUCCESSFUL/VISIONARY/PATRIOTIC NIGERIAN YOUTHS LIVING IN NIGERIA AND ABROAD TO KEY POLITICAL POSITIONS IN NIGERIA AS A WAY OF INITIATING A YOUTH REVOLUTION IN NIGERIA THAT WILL CHART A NEW COURSE FOR NIGERIA.

Our key goals are:
EMERGENCY WAR AGAINST YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT & UNDER-EMPLOYMENT
RE-STRUCTURING OF NIGERIA FOR EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP & ACCOUNTABILITY
TOTAL WAR ON LEADERSHIP CORRUPTION USING TECHNOLOGY
NIGERIAN TECHNOLOGY REVOLUTION

The above goals will form our framework, under which we will be discussing best approaches to achieve these goals and more as we progress.

For those who are skeptical that old politicians will hijack this movement, I want to assure you all today that that will never happen so long as I am involved.

What we need is a working Nigeria and we won’t have any need to collect meager bribe from any politician. Only visionless youths sell their conscience and vote for money or favor.

We will need good graphic designer to design a logo for this movement, which will be used to create the Facebook page, group, telegram, Twitter, etc.
If you can design the logo to radiate our mission at a glance, please come forward…we need volunteers for designing the party logo.

Once this thread reaches page 20 with enough expression of interest from nairalanders, then we will kick off.

Please I want to encourage our ladies to come and join us….don’t be afraid, it affects all of us. Don’t be a docile youth….come and join us now and be among the pioneer members of this great and historic movement.

We will start with social media accounts....then we will approach top Nigerian bloggers to make a post on their blog once we are organized to a certain level.

First, we need a Facebook group and Fan Page. We also need a Twitter account and then a Telegram group. We will start with these ones for now and then look at the possibility of creating the website you mentioned once we are fully started.

I want us to have enough expression of interest here as a clear conviction that Nigerian youths are solidly behind this and ready for it. Once we have enough people showing interest here, then we will proceed to creating the necessary groups and social media platforms for further discussion.

Weldone guys, to say the fact I really welcome this idea but like others have been saying early that our goals can be achieved if we truly focus on the primary objectives and we shouldn't base this on " avenue to make money". 100% I absolutely available for this idea anytime, anywhere. But I have a question to ask. There are progressive youth groups here and there which they also have similars idea like this. So, my question is this, are we going to work with them, maybe if they wish to joing this group or this group will join them along the line? Because if we have alot of youth groups aiming for the same propose not under the same umbrella believe me we may not be able to achieve our goal, Our voices must make echo nationally to achieve the goal.

*He is 31 years old*

Austria today made history by electing the world's youngest president who is 31 years old.

His name is Sebastian Kurz, he is just 31 years old and with him is his girlfriend Susanne.

Before today's election, he was the country's foreign minister.

While our youths are contented with being ass lickers, praise singers and Special assistants on social media in Nigeria, youths else where are disrupting the status quo, pushing for innovation, changing the narrative and pushing for the new frontier.

From Facebook to Snapchat and Taxify, these tech giants were founded by millennials who are youths.

Mark Zukerberg is just 32 years old and the youngest billionaire in the world.

The bar has been raised in Austria that elected a 31 years old man as its leader today.

A 31 years old man in Nigeria is probably in his parents house, unemployed and broke, eating free food and not bothered.

The 31 old Nigerian man is feeling big supporting politicians (who directly or indirectly put us in the mess we are in) on Facebook without seeing the nexus between the failed leadership and present unemployment predicament.

I weep for our youths many of whom are wasting away forgetting that time waits for no one.

The condition in Nigeria is not helping matters though and then my generation is not ready to push for change.

Those who have bank jobs think they are on top of the world, forgetting that the owners of the banks were Billionaires at their age.

The women get married and drive their husband's cars and think they have arrived.

Those who work in IOCs see themselves as great achievers, not knowing that they are slaves.

I ask myself and other young people reading this, what are you doing with your life?

Are you happy with the way Nigeria is at the moment?

What are you doing to push for change?

I wish you a Thought Provoking month.

Hi bro, good morning. Please I am not aware of any youth group in existence here, can you share their thread link here so we can invite them to join us

Definitely the goal isn't and will never be to make money
I don't even have interest in politics but I woke up with this idea. I was so worried to the extent I tried to ignore it but something kept pressuring me to do something so I created this thread.

The greatest enemy we will have now is discouragement. We don't need that now. All we need now is the number to get us started and then we can address every other of our fears and issues.

I strongly believe that this will work if we are united as youths with one mission.

Again, please share the links to the other youth groups here so we can reach out to them or you can reach out to them on our behalf. We welcome every youth and every progressive idea to take us to our promise land.

Happy new week friends

I will be releasing some of my ideas....everyone should feel free to contribute because this is the brainstorming stage and we need all the ideas and motivation.

Believe me, we can do this.

Mind you, I am not interested in any political post....I only want to witness a prosperous Nigeria that all Nigerians can be very proud of.

We will be discussing the age range of members and aspirants as we progress.

We need to mobilize fellow youths and surprise the old politicians.

This is no joke...this is about our future.

Nigerians are so creative and talented, in fact Nigerians are one of the most talented people in the whole world so why are we lagging behind

We really can change things...thank God for the blessing of internet and forums like this this. We don't even need money to achieve this, all we need is mobilization and we are good to go.

Stop supporting the same old people that have been ruining Nigeria. they have nothing good to offer to us. To them, politics is a business to enrich themselves.

We will work to make politics less rewarding financially so that thieves will stop going into politics to make money.

Don't wait to get the numbers, that will come as we proceed. Every sensible youth in this country yearns for a better country. I will say we can proceed, and believe me with the right mission statement, we will have the numbers. What you should be concerned now with is how you will manage the crowd to have the same vision and pursue the same cause. How you will select the good ones that will move with the momentum of the head at the centre.

Ourchoice, God bless you.

Nigeria is a country i truly love though her future is being eaten by her bad leaders.

PLEASE IF YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T GIVE YOUR LIFE FOR THIS MOVEMENT, JUST LEAVE PLEASE!!!

We don't need much money, Ghandi of India had just a pair of cloth and was a poor farmer yet led India to her independence.

I must advise us, we don't need much members on this forum to kickstart this goal but even as low as 10 is enough.

A research shows that group of monkeys located on different islands were tested. Some particular monkeys on one specific island were taught to cultivate the habit of washing fruits in salt water before eating, soon enough other monkeys on the remaining islands began to wash fruits in salt water without being taught.

My point is Mass consciousness can make a little idea spread like widefire breaking every religious and tribal barriers.

Just kickstart this idea with the little members and watch even those not on social media give their support.

We need to abolish state of origin in Nigeria and look at the possibility of making it compulsory for every Nigerian parent to give their child 3 names which must include names from the 3 major Nigerian tribes; Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba.

Also, we need to look at the possibility of making Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba languages a compulsory subject in all Nigerian schools starting from primary school to foster unity and curb tribal division.

Restructuring option 1 suggestion from me:
Nigeria will be restructured using the existing 6 geopolitical zones:

Northeast
Northwest
North central
Southeast
Southwest
Southsouth

Each geopolitical zone will have a prime minister, and then we will have a federal government council to be made up of the prime ministers from each geopolitical zone. They will rule for 6 years single term and each prime minister will be the head of federal government for 12 months.....it will rotated among them for the 6 years. The head of FG will act as the Nigerian president for the 12 months.

Each state will keep 50% of their revenue from their state and return 50% to FG. Additionally, states with natural resources like crude oil, gold, tin, etc will be required to remit another 10% of the revenue from their resources which will be used to help poor states with no mineral resources and low revenue so they can catch up developmentally.

Restructuring Option2 suggestion:

Presidential system remains as it is now.

Each state will manage their resources and keep 50% of revenue from their state and return 50% to FG.

Additionally, states with natural mineral resources like crude oil, gold, tin, etc will be required to remit another 10% of the revenue from their resources which will be used as support allocation to help poor states with no mineral resources and low revenue so they can catch up developmentally. Like this, all states and regions will develop at their own pace.

Each state will have their State Police for proper state policing.

The aim of restructuring will be to make governance in Nigeria much easier and to take it to the grassroots and not to enrich states with abundant mineral resources.

We really need a youth driven party to foster development in Nigeria now.

We have no other option. We need to start now to prepare ahead before Nigeria is destroyed further by the present and past politicians that have been ruining this nation and making our youths leave Nigeria in mass as if there is war cry

Don't forget Yoruba Igbo and Hausa are not the only tribes in Nigeria. Instead State of Residence should be employed.

Your Option 1 is similar to my idea of a restructured Nigeria, each zones will have a Premier. The Federal government will be made of a council of the Premiers (similar to UAE council of rulers). However, the head of the Federal government will be chosen by the Premiers, just like it is done in the Senate.

Each Region / Geo political zone would be restructured in a way that long lost brothers if some regions would be reunited with their Kind e.g Majority of Kwara, Okun in Kogi etc... to be moved to the South West zone.

Each Region has the right to choose a local Language as it's official Language.
Each Region also has the Right to secede.

Giving the FG 50% is too much, a little over 10% is OK.
Also the idea of giving to other poor states would not fly, every Region is charged to look inward for Generation of Revenue.
The FG duties would be reduced to majorly supervising the Foreign affairs, the Military, Census etc... Other functions of the FG would be minor, as the Regional government would have the power over virtually everything that is to do with the Region.

Again, the Regional governments power is not absolute, as there will be Divisions in each Regions which will have a leader who will make up the council of Representatives, which will act as the Senate in each state/ Region.

These check and balance system will go as well for the Division level, until it reaches the commoners/ masses/ citizens of the Region.
