duerap: She is in her 30s and a church person. I'm older than her o. Is this the time to be asking for means of livelihood before starting a relationship with a crush? |

myke92: Yes. It's a favour. She's pretty but long overdue for marriage. My academic pursuits is the reason why I'm not dating. I will flaunt my abstinence any day. |

@OP I see no evil in her said act. She can only be considered evil if she capitalizes on your sincere answer - assuming that you're well-to-do and confided same to her - to practice opportunism around you afterwards. 2 Likes |

Same question was asked in similar circumstances years ago.. I couldn't even remember what I said.. whether completing a Masters degree or building my CV quietly by "I am volunteering at so so and so place". Well that was the last of our conversation. The last time we saw, she alighted a sedan while she turned, shocked and surprised, she asked.."how was work?" masking a flurry of awe.....she was still single. 1 Like |

There is nothing wrong asking u what you do for a living. If at her age, 30+ and she's dating a guy, whom she cannot ascertain what he does for a living? Then she's a big foolll. Knowing the kind of job u have at hand is not a crime. Assuming the crush progresses to bf level, then her father ask her about who is she dating and what does he do for a living? Because trust me, all fathers ask. Such questions. That's even one of the five first question, a father will ask a suitor or a bf following his daughter and if you can clarify yourself and explain what you do in simple terms, then sorry will be your next name. If you don't date her, she won't die and she will still marry someone who understands where she's coming from. Life is just simple. 1 Like 2 Shares |

rawpadgin: You can imagine o And the op is way older than her. If she's 30+, he should be either late 30s or even 40s. But he simply cannot define what's he's doing for a living. Such mentality is the height of irresponsibility. I pity the woman who ends up marrying him. He has already failed himself, with such mentality. Smhhh 1 Like |

I don't understand the op. Is the problem that she asked or her age? It's an honest question, how does asking make one a gold-digger? |

alexialin: We are not dating. She approached me in the church on Sunday, though I was drawn to her before. I spoke to her on Monday showing the hints that I like her. Having been told by someone of my Masters program I'm to start next year, should asking for means of livelihood be her question this early? I have dated gold-diggers all my life and I'm now kind of becoming angry whenever I sense it in any woman. See chat below. That line "sleeping and waking" got me angry. I sustained backbone injury on Sunday morning and I still went out to work on Sunday evening because I hate spending from what I'm saving as I have a certain amount of money I must save per day. |
