I think most african nations need that , it's unfortunate that the decisions of the future are made by people who are at death's door. I'm glad though that we have more young people joining our parliament even though they are the opposition who serve suspicious interests , but their existence has put pressure on the ruling party to include more young politicians. Hopefully, soon these ancestors will be outnumbered all over africa.

I cant vote for any of these two people who think Kenya is a piece of cake to be shared between them. So mine is an opinion. Odinga is a reformer and self avowed social democrat. So he resonates very well with the poor masses and those against status quo. But he cant maintain a winning team for some reason. I personally have a problem with some of his approaches to problems which sometimes border on catastrophe.
Kenyatta is full blooded capitalist and an extension of status quo. By status quo I mean some sort of political right that has been in Kenya since independence. Most Kenyans would say political dominance by two tribes. He is strictly development minded but not exactly the social welfare type. Think roads, railways, airports, industries etc. In the rerun, Kenyatta will win because Odinga has withdrawn in what has been termed as his political HaraKiri. Who are you routing for?

I personally feel that the Mandela administration should have created more industries for people to get jobs instead of the social welfare system but I do understand the pressure he was under at that time. The way you described the Kenyatta leadership besides the tribal part , I think it's the best for the country, in as much as the social needs of the poor should not be ignored but development should take center stage. Development especially that of industries brings economic growth and employment for the people which in turn reduces poverty and other unwanted social vices.
