Finishing is his problem. Give him Nacho's finishing ability and he'll be top class. Alexis no dey call am Thierry Henry for nothing.

Abegii, Chuba is one of those overhyped English groomed players just like Jodon "hype".

Manchester city with stars such as Aguero, Gabby J, David Silva, Yaya T, Sterling can't get one goal past Wolverhampton up to the 88th minutes

I know but he is still no where near where he was hyped up to when he was at Liverpool.

meanwhile, man city still struggling with wolves.
Commentary: Bright Enobakhare (Wolves) produced a promising shot low towards the middle of the goal after his wonderful solo run, but Claudio Bravo thwarted him with a fabulous save and the score remains the same.

I think Kelechi should be played more with Slimani and not Vardy. He needs somebody to do the heavy lifting while he operates. I feel he played better with Bony at Man City his first season.

So has he adjusted to Leicester style now or Leicester has adjusted to his style? Which one?
I didn't watch the match ooo. But for me it's not even primarily a question of style but position. I still maintain that he's a SS. he should flourish there first before they move him upfront. But that means he has to battle with other players in that position like Okanazi

I laugh when people put jay jay ahead of the great Kanu. Kanu ,a two time African Player of the year. Jay Jay,ball juggler. Jay Jay didnt take soccer very serious till he hit 30s and realizes he hasnt achieved anything. Too late ,brother.

Too late n I think choosing Bolton... Didn't help him either... Read he turned down some big clubs down for him to join.. Bolton... Might be wrong though

lol this is really a funny comment. To your question, yes we have a team that can stand toe to toe with Germany, Spain etc. Football is a game of 11 players.. most of those European teams you mentioned may not qualify if pitted against Cameroon, algeria and Zambia. FYI no team is ready for world cup yet, we are just in preparatory stage and will get better before the mundial, but that's not a yardstick to insinuate we don't have a team. You are looking down on these guys, but you will be shocked later on. Besides, the game against Zambia was an important decider so the players where a bit jittery, believe me even Brazil would struggle against zambia in such situations.. Remember it took Kane's individual brilliance to score the goal that took England to Russia against tiny Scotland.. If we repeat that Zambia match now, the soreline would surprise you.

There is nothing funny about the comment, you must have a weird sense of humor. My whole point is that we are not well prepared ,some of these guys just started playing together recently.

This is what Kelechi should be doing. Stop lurking around the 18 yard box hoping to catch in on a loose ball and prove a point, thats not his natural style. Kelechi is a natural build-up player with great instinct for goal. His style is play with the midfield until you get to the 18 box and then you unleash your instincts thats his style. He is not a point man. His pass accuracy is great.
Exactly Bro. Midfield interplay to the box. Infact with that he'd score more goals from outside provided the ball falls on his stronger foot cos he's good at curlers.

So the coach should bench their most prolific striker and play a wasteful Slimani just to accommodate Iheanacho? Or what are you saying? So what happens to Okazaki another very resourceful striker?

You make this conclusion from just a League Cup win against Leed?

It wasn't even Scotland. It was Slovenia with a stoppage time goal. We should give our guys credit just as you are doing. They deserve it at least so far.

If given the playing time Kelechi is probably one of the most dangerous players in the 18 yard box but he is not a natural point man because he doesnt have the stamina. He need to work with what he has, even if they start you as a point man drop deep and exchange passes to open the game up. He is more of a playmaker than a striker.

Y I have issues with peeps here when they discuss Iheanacho they throw away objectivity and bring in sentiments. Look at that suggestion.

Bro make I no lie u, I m not really good at discussing football tactically and analytically, reason is because 1) I am not always opportuned to see games frequently, Nigerian matches are the few ones I see on a frequent basis
2) I watch to entertain myself most of the times .

however I really want to go deep into tactical discussions but I find it hard to do and that's y I always watch others do it in order to learn.

before I only knew 4 departments on the field of play which is GK Defence Midfield and Attack now I know the sub departments like DM AM CF WF LB RB and some others. I v learnt a lot from this thread even more than playing Play Station has taught me.

I really value the contributions of Kog45 Tbaba Icon4s, please where is Joseph the founder of this thread he also is a member of the honourable elders, someone who has slotted into this thread without any look of a newcomer is soetanoreoluwa, I like his contributions too AiG07 where at thou, in fact everyone on this thread is great I appreciate always being here. Goke too is someone who drops by time to time. thegoodjoe I no 4get am. forgiveness, Mickeal, elyte and omanbala, how can I forget Komekn. he believes league 2 in England is bigger and better than the eredivise in Holland (na joke o bro).

so davep I'll join in the tactical and analytical discussion when I get the full grasp of it which is very very soon. for now I'll discuss the ones I can and no I'm not waiting for the NPFL that's a long time from now.
I am very much like you as I watch football for enjoyment not as an intellectual exercise but goodjoe and Mickael2 pushed(I bet they don't know) to want to develop a more tactical eye. I wanted to understand what pressing meant, double pivot, gengen pressing, regista, libero, false nine etc. This site helped me. You might want to check it out: http://www.thefalse9.com
