Cristobal Parralo has been appointed as
caretaker manager till the end of the season.
This is good news I think as he was the manager
for Deportivo Fabril (La Coruna reserve team) in
the Spanish 3rd division where Uzoho has been
ever present this season. I think he knows Uzoho even better than Pep Mel did. Cc; Zelex 8 Likes 1 Share |

It may be that some things are tacitly going on between NFF and Tammy as this report connotes. ” We have some players who have shown some interest and commitment in playing for us, we are going to meet with them soon. I think four of them, and they have all represented England at youth level “, the spokesman of the NFF told Owngoalnigeria.com.” No fresh talks with Abraham, because we already know where we are with him, but we can’t reveal it now just the same way I can’t tell you the name of the players we plan to hold talks with before the end of the year”, he remarked. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/10/25/nff-ditch-tammy-abraham-plan-to-hold-talks-with-three-england-youth-international/ Tammy might still end up switching to Nigeria and possibly gatecrashing the world cup squad. |

Goke7:I read one time of the NFF complaining about immense pressure on them from player agents. I just pray that the core 15 are fit and in form. Still we need a full squad rich in depth spilling over to the bench. Iwobi came from the Bench and decided the match against Zambia. At the World Cup proper the bench- if solid enough - can still ultimately decide some crucial games. 5 Likes |

The link above gives the line up for the said game including the coaches for both team....cheers! |

Mujtahida:Yea, the bench should be almost or as good as the starting xi. I read a comment of a Zambian fan after the match against them saying something like “you people left your best players on the bench" and I can infer that he said that because he saw the impact of Iwobi and Aina on introduction. 5 Likes |

Joebie: the technical team is also key especially when you talked earlier about video analysts, a coach may have his own preferred video analyst, what if the nff disagrees with him like they disagreed with keshi over okpala. That can affect a team going into a tournament negatively. 4 Likes |

Another in camp issue is this scorpion sting called 'bonuses'. If i recall well, the class of 2014 threatened not to play france if they werent paid and Ameobi and Ejike were agitators alongside Musa. We must avoid EVERY issue that would be beyond Rohr's control and power. This happened to Lagerback! Next... can we just understudy the way Brazil and Argentina do their bench selection? Stop taking peeps that arent good enough to bench a starter.... 2014 was the worst bench we ever had at a world cup imo! 3 Likes |

Mujtahida: I think we do have a solid bench already may be with the addition of a few players, will be better. Having a bench with musa, iwobi or even if its simon, iheanacho, etebo, ogu is not bad o! some big African teams can't boast of such. |

tbaba1234: GK Ezenwa is the fourth keeper going by the report from Rohr himself. In short, he said no guarantee for no 1 spot. Anything can happen. DF After I saw Felix-uduokhai played I discovered that Tiago Ilori is a better option because he is more experienced than Felix-uduokhai and Akpoguma. MF Joel Obi Abdul Ajagun Mikel Agu/Esiti FW Since, Ighalo is the only CF on your list, I will go for Kayode. This is because he has been consistent for the past 5 seasons scoring double digit goals consecutively . He scored double digits in the Isreali first tier were he emerged the second top scorer. He also scored double digits goals in the Austrian league in two seasons and he is now in the best league in the World on loan from Manchester City. Arguably, he is the most experienced among other contenders. However, if Tammy Abraham agrees to go with us then I will remove Abdul Ajagun or Agu for Iwobi to accommodate both Tammy Abraham and Kayode Olanrewaju in the attack. 2 Likes |

tbaba1234:Highly viable list save for the midfield where I feel just two slots are open and one from the three you put is added to the attack to make it two slots. On the whole seven players and this corresponds with the assertion of most here that the team needs at most seven new players to maintain 1)the balance of experience /youth 2)the need to go with the core of the team(of course those fit and in form) and the need to inject quality reinforcements across vital positions in the team |

TheGoodJoe: It was exactly close to wat dis young man described in dis earlier post....we had an erratic NFA then and the pressure to play very good football was high....philip trousier was brought in becos the eagles were extremely poor in the first leg against kenya in nairobi as we barely escaped defeat....internal wranglings didnt help too, philip trousier gradualy lost ethusiasm for the job before he was eventually sacked....here is the post i refer to..... [quote author=tglobal post=61743503] Just to put the records straight... We were grouped with Burkina Faso, Guinea and Kenya and Amodu was in charge at the start of the qualifiers (the first two matches). Due to the hangover from the olympics victory, Nigerians expected the team to play in a certain way and resoundingly defeat any opponents we faced (especially in Africa). Such was this confidence in the players abilities that deep down, many felt we didnt need a coach to perform well. With this type of expectation, anything less than an imperious performance will be put down to the coach. This was what Amodu faced: We beat BF 2 - 0 in the first match in Lagos from two second half goals. The second match was a different story altogether as we needed a header from Akpoborire to draw level against Kenya in Nairobi. The result was greeted with anger by the fans and the blame fell at the feet of Amodu. That was when he famously declared that Nigeria needed a foreign sports minister when Jim Nwobodo decided that the local coaches would not do it. In came Phillipe Troussier with his own brand of football. He introduced the 3-5-2 system to the Eagles and led them to two uninspiring 2-1 victories (Guinea at home and BF away). The fans and the press blamed his system for the performance and he had to revert to 4-3-3/4-4-2 in the return 3-0 victory against Kenya where we picked our ticket with one match to spare. IT is worthy to note that, in the midst of Nigerian's dissatisfaction at his playing pattern, Clemens Westerhof was at the stands and received a resounding welcome(Troussier accused Kodjo Williams who was a friend of Westerhof of orchestrating this) We went to Guinea for the final dead rubber match and lost 1- 0. The Guineans dominance over the eagles in that match led to a clamor for his sack and he was relieved of his role shortly afterwards (forget the fact that we have always found it difficult to get the upper hand against Guinea in senior matches, be it CHAN, WAFU or tournament qualifiers) I have read that Bora had little time to prepare for the word cup, but he had at least 6 months to do that |

blueto:Yes the bench matters. Against Zambia in Ndola Esiti came in and calmed the flailing midfield when Mikel was tiring. Against Algeria Musa came in and gave the assist that killed the drive of the Algerians. Only Mikel Agu's substitution has not gone down well. 4 Likes |

eazyjakes: I think Bora lost time due to the preparation for the Carlsberg Cup where we won it with some home-based players in the squad. If Bora had gone with the old brigade or fused the Carlsberg team with the Old brigade, there would have been progress with the time Even Siasia who played part in the Carlsberg Cup got dropped. |

Goke7:Yes that bench looks enticing in African setting but when you x-ray it vis - a- vis what would be on parade at the World Cup we would realise that the bench can still be and should be upgraded. In your opinion how many players as in new (in terms of having not featured at all) players should Rohr include to balance the need to go with the core team with the need to reinforce the team? |

That's what's killing naija footie - bribery! The PE teacher, Festus Onigbinde, turned the Super Eagles camp into a business center prior to Japan - Korea World Cup. He was literally charging players for an invite. As a matter of fact, I nicknamed him Mr. $10,000 per junk player. We all know how Efe Sodjie made it to the world cup! In 2014, Keshi did exactly the same thing. Many of the players he invited didn't make sense. He policy was quite simple: once I get my first eleven, I can use the other slots to make some quick bucks. Samson Siasia and Sunday Oliseh were the same way, especially when it comes to agents running the show. I just pray and hope that Rohr would have the backbone to call them bluff this time around.
