It's not good to speak ill of the dead but I had made similar statement when he was alive as well. Keshi grew resentful when Westerhof decided to bench him for Chidi Nwanu, so he started to create division in the team.

First, after the first game, he conspired with the players to starve Rasheed Yekini of service. As a matter of fact, he himself had even publicly confessed to this allegation.

Secondly, a couple of days before the round of 16 match against Italy, Westerhoff tried to bring orderliness in the camp by moving the team to another hotel; but Keshi and Daniel Amokachie rebelled and refused to leave. lol we can't blame NFF for something Keshi did knowingly.. Yes you have a point removing Okpala can indirectly influence some choices. But all the same Keshi had control as regards players selection, and he gets the blame for taking the likes of Uchebo, Ameobi...

the technical team is also key especially when you talked earlier about video analysts, a coach may have his own preferred video analyst, what if the nff disagrees with him like they disagreed with keshi over okpala. That can affect a team going into a tournament negatively.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has insisted that it was not going to impose players on the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, as the Franco-German gaffer starts searching for players to make impact at the World Cup in Russia next year.

Nigeria is the first country in Africa to book her passage to the Russia 2018 Mundial even with a game to spare.

Speaking in Abuja yesterday, General Secretary of the NFF, Dr Sanusi Mohammed insisted that allegations by some sections of the Nigeria media that the Glass House is trying to force some players on the coach are not true.

I think Rohr has singled out Victor Moses for a reason. It depends on what you mean by big game player. If you are talking about stability in midfield we need to find that player that can stand in for Mikel and do a pretty good job. All the player needs do is install balance in the midfield, the player still has to be his own player whiled doing so. An experienced player would have been ideal.

Egypt not going to feature in CHAN tournament

After an announcement that Egypt will take part at the upcoming 2018 CAF African Nations Championship, the Egyptian Football Association ha said otherwise and stated that the country is not going participate at the tournament.


The Confederation of African Football is yet to receive any official communication confirming the Pharaohs intended withdrawal from the CHAN tournament set to be staged in Morocco.

However, media reports this week revealed that EFA officials said they were pulling out of the tournament for African-based players due to a busy schedule.

"We sent an official reply to CAF that we will not be able to play CHAN," EFA's Tharwat Sweilam said to the BBC.

"We cannot stop the Premier League, especially as the tournament is being played outside the FIFA international calendar."


Meanwhile, the continental governing body has responded to the claims, saying they have not received a letter form the North Africans.

"Nothing official (has been) received from the EFA in that regard," a CAF spokesperson told the BBC.

Although the Pharaohs have seven CAF African Cup of Nations titles, they have never played in the 16-team CHAN tournament.

Ebuehi Makes Dutch League’s Best 11

ADO Den Haag of Holland defender, Tyronne Ebuehi has received a massive boost to his career, as he has been named to the last team of the week in the Dutch top-flight league.

Yes experience is one side of the big game coin. The other side is guts or courage or heart. Some people are naturally confident even in overwhelming novel situations. Did you see how Ola Aina took to the field against Zambia- Like a duck to water? Meanwhile Agu - who had previously played two matches before then-was obviously flustered.
That's one thing I liked about Amokachi. He was truly a bull. We need players like that. We've not played any game coming from behind as in goals. The mental strength of the team has not been stretched in that direction. I'd like to see how we would fare in that situation.

Somebody needs to drill it into this boy's head that his right foot is not diseased. The coaches he works with need to tell him to shoot with whichever foot the ball lands.


You will not always get the chance to switch legs...you will encounter merciless defenders that will not give you enough breathing space to move even less switch the position of the ball, he needs to stop second guessing himself and just shoot

U av a good memory bro but dat tourney was held btw Jan 28-31,1998....the european season was obviously still on hence bora had to use mostly home-based players and some fringe european based (more like starting to rebuild the team less dan six months to france 98).....in all,it still boils down to the emphasis we all clamouring for,that the core of the team be kept to promote beta team cohesion and a good team spirit.
