Mujtahida:Perhaps the respect for the coach Keshi was part of that hypnosis(i rem the press kept uncovering nff's plot to employ Herve Renard and the man that tagged us super chickens@Claude le Roy. That time Pinnick vex me die. We definite have a BETTER TEAM. If time permits, i'l do a head to head on 2014 XI vs 2017/18 XI to be. One prayer though... that Onazi&Ndidi are injuryfree before that tourney(watched clips that showed our opponents at the last 3 wc scored from mistake/absence of dmf at position majorly; that just uncovered a def in shambles before the 1st whistle. 1 Like |

forgiveness:I feel your views on Ezenwa from Rohr's comments are out of sync with how things played out. I presume Rohr made that comment when Ezenwa had not featured in any of the last three matches. Consider that Akpeyi was fit for the last match yet Ezenwa kept the goal. Except you have personal objections against Ezenwa as at today he is No 1. The matches he kept goal were no mean matches and even though we know we need a Super keeper we must acknowledge that he did well. 6 Likes |

Very well said, bro! In fact, the 1994 team would've reached the finals of that world cup if not for Stephen Keshi's treachery. It's not good to speak ill of the dead but I had made similar statement when he was alive as well. Keshi grew resentful when Westerhof decided to bench him for Chidi Nwanu, so he started to create division in the team. First, after the first game, he conspired with the players to starve Rasheed Yekini of service. As a matter of fact, he himself had even publicly confessed to this allegation. Secondly, a couple of days before the round of 16 match against Italy, Westerhoff tried to bring orderliness in the camp by moving the team to another hotel; but Keshi and Daniel Amokachie rebelled and refused to leave. The resultant confusion made them to miss several training sessions and hence didn't had the best preparations before playing Italy. Those are the major reasons why we lost that match. Mujtahida: not more than 3 as we don't really have much options out there, remember you need players with a big heart for the world cup not players that will have sleepless nights before their debut game for the eagles. You know we don't small children to face the kind of teams we will meet at the world cup and those teams won't parade small children either but tried and tested players and we all know this |

lol we can't blame NFF for something Keshi did knowingly.. Yes you have a point removing Okpala can indirectly influence some choices. But all the same Keshi had control as regards players selection, and he gets the blame for taking the likes of Uchebo, Ameobi... Goke7: 1 Like |

Iheanacho promises Leicester fans more goals Super Eagles and Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed great delight after scoring his first goal in competitive game for Leicester City in their 3-1 comeback win against Championship club, Leeds United FC in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night. Thereby scoring a goal and provided an assist in the process. After the visitors went ahead through Pablo Hernandez’s fine effort, Iheanacho was on hand to equalize just four minutes later to net his maiden goal for the Club. It was a significant strike for the frontman and he believes it provided the lift the Foxes needed to go on and win the game. “I’m pleased to get on the score-sheet today,” Iheanacho reflected to LCFC TV. “It was a great game and I’m happy to play 80 minutes and we’re happy to win the game and go to the next round. Everyone can play and everyone can be used in the Premier League or the cup. In any competition, we are one and we play together in training and in games, so if you are called up to play for the team, you have to give 100 per cent in every game. “If you don’t get it right, then you have to be ready for the next game. “We lost a bit of concentration in the first 25 minutes but we put our heads together and worked together to get the first goal. We moved onto the second half and the goals came in.” Iheanacho’s goal was a well taken one. Initially, he looked as if he would shoot with his right foot, but shaped it onto his left before converting from the edge of the box. He continued: “I wanted to take it with my right foot but I wasn’t too sure, so I got it back onto my left foot and put it into the corner. “It was a great goal so I’m happy to get a goal and help the team to go to the next round. It means a lot to me. I’m happy to get my first goal and I hope there are many more to come in the future.” The 21-year-old continued to threaten following the interval and after making a good run into the channel to latch onto Vicente Iborra’s pass, he squared for Islam Slimani to make it 2-1 to City. “It was a great run and a great finish from Slim (Islam Slimani),” added Iheanacho. “It was a great partnership between me and him. I’m not going to call it a competition because we are all one. We do well in training and we are together. “Everybody that plays gives 100 per cent so you can be on the bench or you can play. We are one and we don’t have any grudges in mind. We hope to get more success in the future.” Iheanacho struggled with his fitness in the early stages of the campaign following an injury to his left foot, but says he is now raring to go after making a full recovery. “I’m fully fit now so I’m happy to get my fitness back,” he said. “I’m working really hard in training so we hope for more success to come and no more injuries.” He joined Leicester City from Premier League rival Manchester City FC on 3 August 2017 after signing a five-year contract for a reported £25m fee, He also made his debut for the club in a 4–3 defeat to Arsenal on 11 August 2017. https://www.soccernet.com.ng/2017/10/iheanacho-promises-leicester-fans-more.html 2 Likes 1 Share |

Nigeria: Eagles 'Ll Be Tough - Argentina Coach Coach of Argentina Jorge Sampaoli has revealed the reason why the Super Eagles of Nigeria will give them a stern test in next month friendly game which will take place in Russia. The game will serve as part of the preparations for both teams ahead of the World Cup 2018 in Russia, after both of them secured their spot with convincing wins in games where they need a win to progress. Argentina will play their first warm up game against Russia before taking on Nigeria four days later, and Sampaoli who has called up all of his big name players for the friendly has revealed why he is expecting a tough game from Nigeria. "They (Nigeria) are a very physical side, and also technical in their style of play, which is totally different from the teams we faced during the World Cup Qualifiers. Nigeria also have some very good players", Sampaoli said in Argentina. "For now they are one of the best teams in Africa, which tells a lot about their qualities, we are expecting a very challenging game from Nigeria. They are good in several ways", he concluded. http://allafrica.com/stories/201710250123.html 2 Likes |

Nigeria: NFF - We Will Not Impose Players On Rohr Gernot Rohr. By Olawale Ajimotokan with Agency Report The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has insisted that it was not going to impose players on the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, as the Franco-German gaffer starts searching for players to make impact at the World Cup in Russia next year. Nigeria is the first country in Africa to book her passage to the Russia 2018 Mundial even with a game to spare. Speaking in Abuja yesterday, General Secretary of the NFF, Dr Sanusi Mohammed insisted that allegations by some sections of the Nigeria media that the Glass House is trying to force some players on the coach are not true. http://allafrica.com/stories/201710250045.html 2 Likes |

I think as regards finding reinforcements, we need to do it quickly, and blend them early with the team's playing philosophy. Gatecrashers mostly don't do jack at the World Cup. Goke7 please consider what I just said in your notes. I think Rohr has singled out Victor Moses for a reason. It depends on what you mean by big game player. If you are talking about stability in midfield we need to find that player that can stand in for Mikel and do a pretty good job. All the player needs do is install balance in the midfield, the player still has to be his own player whiled doing so. An experienced player would have been ideal. Mujtahida: |

Egypt not going to feature in CHAN tournament by Phumzile Ngcatshe After an announcement that Egypt will take part at the upcoming 2018 CAF African Nations Championship, the Egyptian Football Association ha said otherwise and stated that the country is not going participate at the tournament. The Confederation of African Football is yet to receive any official communication confirming the Pharaohs intended withdrawal from the CHAN tournament set to be staged in Morocco. However, media reports this week revealed that EFA officials said they were pulling out of the tournament for African-based players due to a busy schedule. ETOILE DU SAHEL SACK COACH HUBERT VELUD "We sent an official reply to CAF that we will not be able to play CHAN," EFA's Tharwat Sweilam said to the BBC. "We cannot stop the Premier League, especially as the tournament is being played outside the FIFA international calendar." Meanwhile, the continental governing body has responded to the claims, saying they have not received a letter form the North Africans. "Nothing official (has been) received from the EFA in that regard," a CAF spokesperson told the BBC. Although the Pharaohs have seven CAF African Cup of Nations titles, they have never played in the 16-team CHAN tournament. http://africanfootball.com/news/732810/Egypt-not-going-to-feature-in-CHAN-tournament |

I think this list is something we have to revisit time and time again. No guarantees, but nice for a start.. Modified I mean this is how it's looking at the moment. It will only take a flop from Ezenwa, a solid return of Enyeama, a wonderful Uzoho debut. and did Rohr say Ikeme will go to Russia sick or not? I thought I read something like that. Someone correct me if i'm wrong. I think the GK slot is a little tricky. And maybe Etebo is not safe yet. tbaba1234: 1 Like |

Goke7:I know big game player has to do with experience but sometimes it requires guts. Most people have said Onyekuru has confidence. Some weeks back - as a result of a link posted by Joebie- I read lots of write ups in FFT magazine on great players especially the one on one interviews. Players like Edgar Davids had guts even when he had not fully turned pro, same thing with Ibrahimovic. Same thing was said of Pogba. So when I read peeps here using that word 'confidence' to describe Onyekuru it hit a trail of thoughts in my mind. He should be tested soon. He's too tantalising to be left out. 1 Like |

Ebuehi Makes Dutch League’s Best 11 ADO Den Haag of Holland defender, Tyronne Ebuehi has received a massive boost to his career, as he has been named to the last team of the week in the Dutch top-flight league. Though the Haarlem-born former Holland youth international is yet to impress Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr and earn a competitive debut for Nigeria, the German coach may now start looking closer at the youngster. More respect will surely come Ebuehi’s way, after the soft-spoken lad landed a spot in the Dutch Eredivisie all-stars 11 for week nine. Fox Sports has taken note of his performance against VVV Venlo in which he provided an assist for ADO Den Haag’s first goal scored by Erik Falkenburg in the 66th minute. Though more comfortable as a right back, Ebuehi partnered Excelsior star Milan Massop in central defense in a 4-3-3 formation, as he earned his place in the ceremonial best eleven players after scoring ten points in the ratings. This season, Ebuehi, who can also operate as a left-back and right winger, has started each of the nine games contested by ADO Den Haag in the division and clocked up 765 minutes. It is all but confirmed that he will return to the Nigeria squad for their upcoming games against Algeria and Argentina. Joebie:Yes experience is one side of the big game coin. The other side is guts or courage or heart. Some people are naturally confident even in overwhelming novel situations. Did you see how Ola Aina took to the field against Zambia- Like a duck to water? Meanwhile Agu - who had previously played two matches before then-was obviously flustered. That's one thing I liked about Amokachi. He was truly a bull. We need players like that. We've not played any game coming from behind as in goals. The mental strength of the team has not been stretched in that direction. I'd like to see how we would fare in that situation. 3 Likes |

Nig vs Iran (0-0) Formation:4-3-3 Enyeama, Ambrose Oshaniwa(Cb), Oboabona, Omeruo(lb). Onazi, Azeez Mikel. Moses, Emenike, Musa. Bench: Ejide, Uzoenyi, Gabriel, Eguekwe, Odunlami, Babatunde, Nwofor, Uchebo, Agbim, Ameobi(Moses), Yobo(Oboabona), Osaze(Azeez). Verdict: We enter Brazil with poor setpieces stats(both defending and attacking). Analysts surprised by seeing inexperienced Azeez in the starting XI. Mikel bossed the game and we got 70% possession, but no shot at goal, despite the Iranian goalie being inexperienced, not good. A.Musa gave his all in 1st half, tired in 2nd, but not removed. He troubled the Iranian def so bad, but no goals. MOTM- Mikel(got tired 2nd half and made Azeez play his role which backfired.Hence he was removed for Osaze). Personally, the fatigue level of every Russia-bound SE player must be noted, else... more headache! 4 Likes |

You will not always get the chance to switch legs...you will encounter merciless defenders that will not give you enough breathing space to move even less switch the position of the ball, he needs to stop second guessing himself and just shoot The day Kelechi scores with his right foot, I will celebrate like he won a Ballon d'Or 1 Like |

The building of a successful world cup team actually includes the qualification phase and does not neccessarily start after the qualification process as we av erroneously believed in the past hence the frequent change of coaches and core playing personnel after qualification! 1 Like |
