Other states that didn't build good schools like these, have they paid all salaries and pensions owed? States like Benue, Bayelsa, Ekiti etc? seguno2: |

somehow: You can all it what ever you like. There's primary, secondary and tertiary education and academies provide secondary education. Some academies are even primary schools. |

Well I believe Academy offers more than just primary or secondary school education. They are more of a specialist kind of school and most are more equipped than average primary or secondary schools. I hope you understand? nwabobo: |

seguno2: He said the state government has paid the salary of all workers in the state up to July, 2017 in line with the agreement made between it and the labour union. If Osun state with so much debt and unpaid salaries as you claimed is able to build, deliver and commission grand and world-class projects all over the place, what about you explaining to us why all your own SE states abi villages with no debt and have paid salaries up to date ( All SE states have debts and 4 of them collected salary bail out) can not build and commission any project or infrastructures like Aregbeshola in Osun state? Why are your own states, all 5 of them have nothing meaningful to show us? This is how hatred, petty jealousy, bitterness and tribalism make you overlook they backwardness, incompetence and lack of productivity and productive leaders in your own states and instead worry and kill yourself over the good work others are doing in their own state. Your own states collect taxes, they collect allocations and also have debts, they even collected salary bailout, but you can not show us what they did or are doing with your money, but the people in Osun at lease can see on the ground the magnificent rewards from their taxes, allocations, and debts forever. The joke is on you. |

Osun state is one of the poorest states in Nigeria with or WITHOUT Aregbe as the government, the states I compared osun with are even richer than her yet you think they are the worst people? I don't criticize blindly brother. Give osun state what any of the states I listed are getting and see what Aregbe will do it with. Not a fan of any governor but like what he has done with schools and roads. seguno2: |

deomelo:I did not criticize him, I know you are pay to do this but try and do it rightly, structure is good but good education is more than structure. We need structure, that is nice but we need good tutor that will teach those student. If u did not get me try and check Osun WAEC and NECO |

seguno2: Please don't be offended by this question, I understand that some people are atheist. How about people who pray like these; Thank God that I am not in the mortuary Thank God that I am not in prison Thank God that I am not in hospital Thank God that I am not homeless Thank God that that I am not begging for food Are those people praying the wrong way? Maybe they are just thanking God and not comparing themselves to those other people in the bad situations. There used to be this popular sticker that read; "I was crying because I have no shoes, until I saw someone without legs." I guess those words on marble are obsolete in these days of "l better pass my neighbor mentality " |

codekanle: If good structures are good and you also need good structures, then why are you crying because the government provided good structures? Or you think the government spent money on new schools because they don't need good students and good teachers? Or they told you that they are not going to hire good teachers to teach in these schools and produce good students? If you are so concerned about good education and good WAEC results, shouldn't common sense tell you that you have to lay good and lasting education foundation by first providing the necessary learning and conducive education environment ad the tools necessary to achieve good results? How do you even get a good education and good teachers without first providing the tools required and good education infrastructures? Can you provide good WAEC results without good schools and for students and for teachers to teach in? You are not making any sense and it's not by force to criticize. |

seguno2: Do you have any proof to counter that claim apart from your ignorant and bad bele assertions? Half salaries paid while pensions are owed forever? We’ve been paid salaries up to June, Says Osun NLC Chairman How are they owed forever? Obviously not according to the NLC. Confine your ignorance and bad bele to your fellow anti-progress elements. And how do you know that I am not from Osun state? Are you a witch or what? Funny how you cowards, ipob hate mongers, and PDP losers deny and hide your identities just to hide your hatred, bigotry, tribalism and idiocies. All because you are afraid and can not show us anything your own village governors did with your debts, taxes and allocations. seguno2: seguno2: seguno2: seguno2: The above explained your warped, bigoted, tribal and odious mentality which I think you really should stick to because its all you are known for. Sad losers. |

mapet:I Can imagine the thickness of the palmwine you took being thicker than pap. All what you wrote depends on the ability to meet up with recurrent expenses of running the school. Where is the IGR to do just that? Straight answers please. |

@mapet, So 10% of allocation is all that Aregbe can do? What happens then if oil earning dwindles further? He takes huge loan and grows IGR to N8.8B/annum and people like you are shouting. |

@mapet, what happens when the students Aregbe is subsidizing to high heaven go and grow Oyo or Abuja or Kano or Rivers when they are ripe for employement but there are no industries? You must think you replying an Okada rider that reads news headline in the stands. |

@mapet, in that your stùpíd point 7, how will a govt that can't pay salaries sustain the spending that will stimulate the economy? Plus we already seeing the stupíd butterfly-cum-scorpion effects Aregbes policy is causing. I can imagine your kidney inside your skull right now. |
Re: Aregbesola Commissions Ilesa Government High School, Osun State (Photos) by Desyner: 6:19pm On Oct 25, 2017 |
@mapet, you say education has a mid/long term effect on growth, fine. How is the growth going to be channelled into Osun in particular ? You are supporting a fiscal rascal who thinks oil money is his birthright and want to impress people. I pity your empty skull. In Ogun state the govt focus on scholarship and sign a binding contract that guaranty they contribute back to the state. |

Academics are higher than primary and secondary schools, that's what it is, so lets compare likes for likes. That's my point. Most of the pictures you posted are that of academics. You can look up the difference online. nwabobo: |

somehow: The coalition government is inviting all schools in England to become academies and encouraging parents to set up their own schools, called free schools. The Academies Bill, which paves the way for these changes, is currently being debated in the House of Commons. The BBC News website examines key questions about academies and free schools. What is an academy? Academies are publicly funded schools which operate outside of local authority control. The government describes them as independent state-funded schools. Essentially, academies have more freedom than other state schools over their finances, the curriculum, and teachers' pay and conditions. A key difference is that they are funded directly by central government, instead of receiving their funds via a local authority. In addition, they receive money which would previously have been held back by the local authority to provide extra services across all schools, such as help for children with special educational needs. This is estimated to range from 4 to 10% of the funds allocated to the school. Academies do not have to follow the national curriculum. They can choose their own curriculum, as long as it is "broad and balanced". Don't academies exist already? Yes, there are more than 200 of them in England at the moment, all secondary schools. They were established by the Labour government, seen as a way of turning around the worst-performing schools and schools in disadvantaged areas. Under Labour, academies had to have sponsors - who invested up to £2m in return for receiving state funding directly from central government. Sponsors included businesses, church groups, charitable trusts and private schools. New academies were usually established with state-of-the-art buildings and the philosophy that transforming children's environment would help them engage more with learning. Academies set up before 2007 were able to set their own curriculum, but those which came afterwards had to teach the national curriculum in English, maths and science. Those academies will have to renegotiate their agreements with the government to to get the new academy freedoms over the curriculum. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10161371 |

The academies you posted are mostly of european countries different from that of UK. The ones you listed are specialist schools not the typical primary or secondary schools around in the UK or Europe/US. Funny enough, from the article you posted, the academies being established are being funded by the labor government (national) yet you want to compare it with state runned schools? Secondly schools funded by parents and the public are more like private schools and should be better than state (not national/fed) schools. All over the world, private and fed schools always have more funds/backbones done state/local schools. nwabobo:https://www.netmums.com/coffeehouse/tweens-teens-581/teens-61/639272-difference-between-academy-high-school-all.html http://www.bbc.com/news/10161371 difference between high school and academy https://www.google.com/url?q=http://pediaa.com/difference-between-school-and-academy/&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwi4y6PXzozXAhWGCBoKHSjiDB4QFggeMAY&usg=AOvVaw0tNuNTjKzEv_pFE9cjJYSC

I didn't really take time to check the pictures and origin of the academies/schools you posted until now. Almost all of them are private schools/academies not in the league of normal govt owned primary or secondary schools. You actually compared apples for oranges. Prove it from the links I just posted. The founders of these schools are on the links Mr man. I don't really have time to start posting history of some of these privately owned academies but their names are online and readable. This is how I have to say. nwabobo: Just check out these ones: Website www.hazelwoodschool.co.uk The school was established in 1890 as a boarding school for boys aged 8–13 by Edward Baily and his wife Ruth. Baily bought the land from the Titsey Place estate as he loved the views of the Weald and the Ashdown Forest and thought the site healthy and bracing. The first cohort of 38 pupils was accommodated and taught in a purpose-built Victorian building that remains at the centre of the school today. The Ørestad College will be the first in Denmark to fulfil new educational visions regarding subjects, organisation and teaching systems. |
