MamaOO:

For me and my situation, its a necessity. My son has started feeding himself finger foods and also trying to use a spoon, so putting him in a high chair curbs all the mess associated with that. I put snacks and finger foods on the tray of his highchair and he sits there peacefully feeding himself and watching TV.

When I'm cooking, and don't want him afoot, I put him in his chair and he can watch me cook and also watch TV at the same time. I even use the highchair to "arrest him" atimes because that's the only place he would sit without fussing or running around. Infact, I have three sef, I have the standalone Graco and the Fischer Price you strap to a dinning chair and the Bumbo seat(I used this when he was smaller). They all served me beautifully

E for no bad if you use one so as seed for my life o

For me its a necessity although i dont use it for TV watching. I had 2 - the bumbo seat like MamaOO which we have outgrown and packed up and the type you strap to the dining chair which we still use everyday and have used since she was 7 months. (she is 23 months now)

It has made meal times bearable as i do not have to carry her everytime to feed. Also one of them came with a toy bar so if i need to do stuff in the kitchen like clear up after meals i can leave her in it for a bit longer and have some peace of mind while she plays there.

Both have a table attachement but we use the main dining table now.

For TV watching my dd seats on the sofas. She can climb them herself as well. The tv is also hung high on the wall but i didnt notice any issues with her watching it.

Personally, I also try to discourage her screen time so i wont really go out of my way to make her too comfy infront of the TV. When i put cartoons for her, after 2 hrs i turn it off into something else because i cannot be dragging remote with i konkolo person!. grin grin grin

She also has her rocker which she still uses (sometimes) because it the infant to toddler one. This is in the living room.

Chei all dis wonderful mamas with plenty high chairs
Mbok someone should use one and sow seed o

cheesy sorry dear I think she get hungry at interval that's why she wakes up maybe if she's fill it would reduce the wake up time. When my son was lil b4 I introduce formula he will wake up at interval, but wen I fed him formula at night he will sleep so well that I would be d one to wake n feed him during d night. maybe u shd try give her formula or cereal at night b4 bed and dat method hunniesuzie mention dey work too but u have to be vigilante so that nipple won't slip make bm no pour for lo nostril or make breast no choke lo nose
Giddyperson:
Biko nu I need help, my baby wakes up every hour, sometimes twice in one hour. I've not slept in so long i might soon run mad. What should i do, when would it end. She only used to wake up once or twice since birth and i thought by the time she's 6 months she would be sleeping through the night only for her to come and get way worse. I think it's partially my fault cuz she can't go back to sleep without bobby in her mouth, so now every little waking up she would wail until you carry her and bfeed then she would sleep off immediately. This happens like 8 times or more in one night. I'm trying to stop the excess bfeeding and try to tap her back or put her on my shoulder and rock her back to sleep but she just screams louder until you bring bobby. This post is getting so long, I don't even know what I'm typing again, I lack sleep. Biko nu help me before I run mad. I wish it was possible to search with keywords on only one thread. Sabi mamas have described this procedure tire.
1. Don't be scared. Gear actually makes you make mistakes. Gather your mind well
2. You're not incompetent, hugs
Get a bucket of hot steaming water, put 2 drops of eucalyptus oil in it and sit on a stool in front of it. Carry your baby firmly on your lap, get your husband to cover both of you with a big sheet. You sef you'll feel the steam entering your respiratory system

I've also tried sucking it out but very little comes out (sorry tmi). Really feeling for him? Which sleep position is most preferred? Back on bed or tummy to relieve cataarh?

Thanks

Hehehe, welcome to my world before before o. The only way my babes will take a drug without throwing it up is: I make small formulae( a bit creamier) with oats, and mix the drug, then give them . Put little food in the spoon , then put a bit of the drug using a dropper in the same spoon , then feed as though he is eating. That's what works for me. Speedy recovery to your Lo

NB; You might use the cereal he loves more to do it.

Back on bed is better, u can try putting a soft small pillow to elevate his head a little, then he will be able to breath well...Shear butter is good too. Rub some amount across the nose..

Please mama's I salute. Please what is the best food to give 6month old baby so that the baby can gain weight. thanks

There is no best food dear. Try variety of nutritious meals and fruits. Start with single grains like rice cereal, oatmeal mixed with formulae. For fruits, try avocado, banana( not much to avoid constipation) boiled and blend carrot, Pap, etc.

NB : search Alphamaiden's post / blog, and feddy's posts they shared some lovely recipies

Sensei, please teach me how to do this thing. Tried it once and when I woke up, my boobi has covered the whole of her face. I was so scared cos i thought I had choked her to death. Haven't tried it again since then.

@giddyperson happy belated birthday.

For those with big feet, ASOS stock shoes up to size 9 (size 42). You can order from them with free shipping. My shoe size went up from 39 to 40 after pregnancy. I cried Kelebe tears the day my cousin and my friends came to pack my shoes. Smh

Jina24:
@Giddyperson, why not try lying down and breastfeeding. That's how I've been doing o since she was two months there about. I can equally sleep while she eats/sleeps.

Good morning ma'am.
I just use my hand to wedge my nipple from her nose firmly before drifting off to sleep (although I'm a light sleeper though and before 10mins she's already asleep) you can support your breasts from her face with one hand

Lie on any side(left/right) using a pillow to elevate your head, lie your baby facing you, then put the br**st that is down on which ever side your are lying on in the baby's mouth. Usually I hold the br**st with my hand to ensure it doesn't cover the nose till la sleep carries me or better still, I make sure I position it in a way it doesn't cover my baby's nose and off I go.

Just hope what I wrote explans it well.

With time, they usually remove their mouth from the br**st or change their position when they've had enough.

In addition put a few drops of eucalyptus oil on a bib and put near his head. Also rub mentholatum (the one suitable for babies) on his chest, back, sides and soles of his feet. You can mix with a little ori and put on the bridge of his nose

Just to add, I think the trick is not to bring baby too close to you so he can only reach your nipple/areola, no chance of boob flesh covering his nose
