The attention of the Forum of Northern States PDP Chairmen has been drawn to the circulation of a purported ENDORSEMENT of candidates.

The members are aware of their leadership positions and will grant audience and create a level playing ground for all aspirants. The Forum remains committed to these ideals.

The Forum therefore did not and does not intend to ENDORSE any aspirant for whatever office.

RE: NORTHERN STATES PDP CHAIRMEN ENDORSE AGBO, MAIBASIRA, KABIRU FOR NWC

Our attention has been drawn to a misleading publication sponsored by some faceless individuals alleging that the Northern caucus of our great party have endorsed the candidacy a certain group of people vying for some positions in the National Working Committee including the office of National Publicity Secretary, NPS.

While we have no desire to engage in exchange of words with sponsors of the malicious statement, we wish, for the purpose of informing members of the public especially loyal party men and  women that are offended by the publication, to state that there was never a time when members of the Peoples Democratic Party from the North or any other region sat down to discuss endorsement of any candidate for the office of the National Publicity Secretary nor any office in the National Working Committee.

Party men and women are aware that part of the resolution of the 76th National Executive Committee meeting of our great party that was held on the October 24, 2017 at the party's National Secretariat is that the issue of microzoning is alien to the party's constitution.

It is preposterous that sponsors of the malicious statement will take to cheap propaganda instead of engaging delegates within the democratic precepts to further their candidate's interest.

Party faithfuls are very much aware that the most popular candidate in the race for National Publicity Secretary, Prof Abubakar Olarenwaju Suleiman has been busy engaging himself in reaching out party men and women, youths, elders and delegates, outlining his programs for the party and getting favorable endorsement. 

Party faithfuls are quite aware that as the spokesperson of forum of former ministers, Prof Abubakar Suleiman defended the ideals of the party and has been standing against the oppressive actions of the unfortunate APC administration. It is on record that it was Prof Suleiman and few others that stood up to say NO to Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff when he was first appointed National Chairman till the day he was unceremoniously kicked out by the Supreme Court.

May I inform those that may not be aware that Prof Suleiman is seen as the shinning light among his contemporaries even before he was appointed a member of Dr Goodluck Jonathan cabinet. He is a well respected man among his colleagues in the Academic circle and in government. 

We in the Prof Abubakar Suleiman campaign team shall continue to engage party stakeholders ahead of the December 9 National Convention. We are confident that December 10 shall be a day of coronation for the Amiable Prof!
