Joyfree:I feel your plight, but will encourage you to keep waiting as it won't be long. Disturbing them to make a quick decision on your application often atimes lead to refusal believe me. If I were you I won't mind hanging in there until Jan but in the meantime prepare myself |

WestAfrican: Ogaaaa, I dis agree with you oo, which kind January, is Australia the only country with benefits?, the earlier you know your application status, the better for you as there are other opportunities out there, as far as ones application has passed the normal processing time and it is less than for months to resumption, then we have every right to know what's going on with our application. The earlier the better u know hw far, so that sme1 can pursue other things. 1 Like |

Loverquin: That's why you must not put all your eggs in one basket. This visa thing can sometimes be a waiting game. Pressuring your CO can lead to refusing you visa if they find a slight error on your application. No visa agent will write or call immigration until almost deadline. Aside of Dibp laying off worker, each case officer has plenty of cases to attend to. They need time to do your background checks properly plus ask for additional document(s). So pressuring them doesn't expedite the processing time. And that is why you are advised to apply 3 months way in advance of your commencement date. Visa can be issued a week or two before your resumption. Look like I earlier said I personally will wait. Don't forget the final dicision is always your. noscarn91: Yeah that is what anxiety causes. If your mind is set on being in Australia then you want a quicker response. What is wrong if your visa is granted in January and you resume in February! |
So are u saying for those that applied in say like June, should wait for 7 months before a decision is made on their application? Don't they have processing times? Are they not the (DIBP) ones that said u can send them a mail/call if u haven't gotten a decision after the normal processing time, otherwise they will not respond to your queries. Am sure you are referring to those that applied like aug/Sept. We have pple here that applied since may, since may oooo That's why you must not put all your eggs in one basket. This visa thing can sometimes be a waiting game. Pressuring your CO can lead to refusing you visa if they find a slight error on your application.

Even thou you apply a year in advance and are qualify to be granted a visa Dibp will still wait until 3-4month at most before they can email you their decision. Usually, you are not allowed to work in Australia before the commencement of your program. So what will you be doing in Australia for 3-4months? No two cases are the same. I only told you what i would do if i was in your situation. |

We should understand that there are lots of checks to be done and it is damn difficult to verify documents issued by most Nigerian authorities. I believe these guys are still fair and when compared to other countries especially Canada and the rest. Most time they are always very patient to process the applications thoroughly before they make their decision and most times their decisions are just because they do want people to come here genuinely. Calling and calling then does little help untill your resumption is close and most times the person that answer their calls will only tell you he will notify the case officers of your inquiry only if your resumption is close. Generally, getting visas are becoming tough for nigerian and the best is to prepare a very good application that makes sense with adequate documents, apply in advance and wait. It is worth it. Very soon, more grants should start coming for Feb intakes by God's grace. 5 Likes |

blueprint2015: Study gap is not issue if you have proof of work experience during that period. Also, please choose courses that are related to your previous education and work experience. Australia is still nice a little to issue visas to PGD courses unlike Canada. Make sure you explain your educational plans and reasons for choosing PGD instead of the master in your sop. It is advisable you go through the thread from beginning and learn from different experiences of other applicants. |

Three-quarters of Australian voters believes Australia is "already full" and we don't need more people. What do you think? http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2017/10/26/australians-support-partial-ban-muslim-immigration-survey I see Visa grant is taking time and not as easy as before God will surely make a way |

Loverquin: I completely agree with you. Applicants who applied as far back as May/June should either call or write them as from next month. I don't see this as pressuring them to finalize an application but just a reminder that the application is far beyond the processing time. My application is 160 days long. Haba nah. If I had invested the A$7,500 paid on tuition & OSHC on TBills, by now I would be 20% of that sum richer. . The truth is the earlier we know our fate, the better. We need time to prepare for the trip and settle in properly before commencement of studies. One needs time to adapt to a new environment, people, culture, food .. etc before school starts. Abeg oh man need start school with clear head. 1 Like |

shaffy19:If you are serious about migrating with your certificate the route is College pathway to University don’t let me discourage you about the Diploma/Tafe route it reduced your chances of been approved visa grant because they understand that students use Tafe to excape expensive undergraduate and masters fees and wants to cut that |

Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by WestAfrican: 2:48pm On Oct 29, 2017 |
Churkie: Processing time doesn't really mean it must be processed within that time. Factors like background checks, additional documents, enough visa quota can contribute to delay in application. If you like, apply two years before you travel time your application won't be looked into until the time the purpose of traveling to Australia is near. The immigration dept like every other big corporation has a message alert system which informs them on applications that need urgent response. Anyhow, I can spend the whole day explaining to you but you still wont get it. Well information given here is an advise and not an advice. It will be nice to see you ring the embassy and then come give us the feedback from them. 2 Likes |

I am new to this thread. I want to apply for master of information technology in RMIT and I want to know if I would be needing a statement of account as one of the document to support my application since it's a SSVF eligible provider. |
