Reasons Why Buhari Remains Silent On Corruption Cases - Presidency by itsdumebi(m): 9:04am On Oct 28, 2017
The Nigerian presidency has detailed reasons why President Muhammadu Buhari remains silent on the several cases of corruption under his administration, PoliticsNGR has learned.

According to President Buhari's special assistant on prosecutions, Chief Okoi Obono Obla, the president has been quiet because he wanted to follow due process. He pointed out that the Ministry of health and Senate panels that Investigated the Executive Secretary of the National health insurance scheme and the secretary general to the government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal lacked the powers to investigate crime.

In his words; "The Senate that attempted to investigate it did not have the power (to do so). It cannot investigate crime; the Senate can only carry out its oversight function to expose corruption, inefficiency, maladministration in the process of lawmaking.

It (Senate) should report to the ICPC; it should report to the EFCC. An administrative panel of enquiry (the Osinbajo-led panel ) has submitted its report to the President. After that, a committee would be set up to review and then come out with a White Paper.

It is not automatic. A White Paper would be the government’s position on the issue. The committee can make 10 recommendations and the White Paper may accept two. So, the President is in that process of coming out with a report.

So, the President must follow due process before coming to a conclusion. Even if that report comes out, the President does not have powers to investigate the crime.

The Nigeria Police Force, EFCC, ICPC, and so on are the only bodies that have powers to investigate the crime. That matter has to be investigated and if a prima facie case is established, then that person can be taken to court. Nigerians must just be patient."

Let's be fair to Buharri for once, this is not his fault.

This was a man who has never been to school and does not have any knowledge of democratic processes but was insisting on becoming president just to steal more money for his people. The born to rule mentality.

Tinubu made his dream an impossible reality to the surprise of everyone, even Buharri was surprised he won. He took more than 6 months to adjust to the reality that he won.

Now he is starting to learn democratic processes.

What a shame of a nation. grin

As opposition and ruling party, APC failed both ways.
Thank God Jonathan lost in 2015,
many would still have thought Buhari has anything to offer other than threats and violence. At least now no one will take him serious about national issues again once his regime is over

Exactly!

If after his sack in 2019, Buhari mentions corruption as a scourge plaguing the country, I will stone him with all of my shoes.

This is the same country where Obasanjo never hesitated to sack ministers or drop his aides. However their prosecution which began immediately never gained traction.

This is the same country where Yar Adua did not hesitate to sack Prof. Adenike Grange as minister of health during the bribe for budget scandal. He also sacked Bode George as NPA chairman and successfully prosecuted him to become a convict in jail.

But with Jonathan and Buhari, we have seen the worst mockery of democracy and rule of law. Show the balls to fight corruption within the executive like OBJ and Yar Adua, however tokenism it might be.

This excuse of an administration is still making excuses for non performance.

But this president had no problem commenting on Dasuki's case and why he wont obey court order that granted him bail.

this govt. is suffering from sabotage fromy pdp element in this govt.
tey are in the senate, judiciary and civil services
think it is time to reshuffle
it is time to send all DGs and PERSECs appointed by PDP from the last govt. magu inclusive
pmb has made a big mistake of not sacking all pdp element in his governement .
this corrupt element are saboataging his effort and making the public to mock buhari
many people who work day and night for buhari successs in 2015 are not part of his govt.
real buhari loyalist , die- heart supportrs are left out of appointment
aisha buhari has said it and pmb don't want to listen

how will pmb succeed when he is surrounded by people with different mindset
a proffessor of law has said it " only buhari fighting corruption"
dino melaye has said it " buhari is surrounde by canker-worms"
and really this cankerworms are eating him up
buhari should act.
if bhari should succeeed
all nigerians will succeed

Who still thinks this man has any shred of integrity?
Buhari is a thief.

Can you see how this man, this beast is defending his paymaster?
Buhari is a mistake, this is the time for the zombies, the Neanderthals,to openly apologise to Nigerians.

So the President wants to pass through all these protocols to fight Corruption because it has involved his men.
In other words,we should go all through this for Babachir,Maina,Kyari,Amaechi,Fashola,OUK,Timipre Sylva and co.

Then for the Supreme Court Justices, break into their homes in the thick of the night, using dynamites and WMDs,
Arrest a sitting Governor's aide in Abuja without warrant or anything and keep for days.......declare NK and Tompolo "terrorists" and "shoot on sight",hold Dasuki indiscriminately....

If I should ask this World Criminal, did you pass through all these processes for Dasuki,Badeh,FFK,Okupe, and co...
Buhari, you are a pathological liar,a hybrid of cluelessness and wickedness,a murderer who by speech killed Innocent corpers without remorse till this day,an irredeemable corrupt individual,a man to be remembered in history as the worse of them all.
You and your wife have become the Ahasereus and Vashti of our time, but you will be humbled at the right time.
Tell me how you are better and have more integrity than Anini,Abacha,Judas Iscariot,Babangida, even Maina himself,Dieziani and co....
You are just like them.....
Remember, posterity will slaughter you on the altar of mediocrity.

As for Okono Oblong, you sold your conscience for yam porridge, wasted education.
