Good morning all,For those who attended UNILAG,pls do I still need to personally send my certificate to WES?
I thought the school will do everything for me,cos I paid 18.5k (processing n courier fees).Kindly let me know if I need to send anything to WES.

yes you need to send the certificate yourself. there is a fax number people on this thread use to save courier cost just search the thread.

also try getting the tracking number from your contact in unilag so you know when wes receives the transcript.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by Dannyko: 1:16pm On Oct 28, 2017
Imagine!I didn't know.Pls how do I go about it?Will I scan and send it or fax it?Someone should pls reply.Thanks.

I don't have any contact in Unilag,I just applied the normal way.Someone on the thread said it takes approximately 6 weeks. But while reading the thread ,I observe that people have been sending their certificates so I decided to ask so I won't be waiting in vain.

I think we must be very careful not to make such hasty conclusions because it doesnt entertain the far reaching effects.

Those who advocate for the scrapping of NYSC, do so not because the objectives of the scheme lacks merit but because the way it is currently run is a waste of most people's time, state resources and puts a number of innocent people in harm's way. Those who benefit the most from the scheme are nt even corps members but contractors, politicians and the staff that carry out all sorts of deals using the scheme.

However, you are right when you say but for it many people would not have the 1yr minimum work experience required for EE, but lets be honest, isn't that because of unemployment? is that 1yr actually work experience for most corps members? I was close to tears for feygbe when I implied she was unable to get a job for 6 good years! we wouldnt be here throwing our all into PR if it were possible in Canada for the only 1yr employment in 7yr duration to be some mandatory service.

I am sure folks would prefer having 3years gainful employment that would give them maximum CRS for employment to this testimony of "save for NYSC i wouldnt have been qualified for EE". if we must keep NYSC then we need a holistic restructuring of it to save the future of the millions of corps members who wouldnt be able to get PR even if they attempted to.

This argument of "were it not for NYSC.." is no different from the catastrophic trend that has plagued our history, one that has made Govt think creating employment translates to overbloating the civil service, creating jobs that cant provide a corresponding increase in productivity to justify the increased wage bill. we never understand that it is a lazy approach and what we should focus on is building an environment that is healthy for businesses and industries which would automatically mean more jobs that contribute to the GDP.

I burnt 8 months of my life in limbo waiting to be called for service, spent another one year engaged in activities that had absolute nothing to do with my career and ultimately meant i had to retrain after NYSC. Also the NYSC creates unemployment, vacancies arent filled because govt rather rely on slave labour provided by corps members. its even worse for school kids who have to adjust every 8months to a new set of forced teachers; teachers who spend 3months out of those 8months learning how to teach and understanding their students. save for "Oringo" and "funge", for most people there wasnt anything more NYSC amounted to. a number of persons would be the better due to NYSC but they are in the minority. if there is any testimony i have for NYSC, it is the fact that i didnt end up with some dreaded STD or baby mama which would been a challenge for PR, would have meant failed medicals or increased POF grin

NYSC is too expensive a scheme to give it props for serving as a pathway to get 1yr work experience. Doing things this way is the fundamental reason why even those with great jobs are here looking out to attain escape velocity, because unlike Nigeria, they realize sustainability trumps immediate gratification.

sorry for digressing, but someone reading could be President tomorrow and i like to give her/him a chance to see things differently for the sake of the future, if Nigeria has any.

cgpa doesnt influence CRS scores. so thats irrelevant in the scheme of things. your msc would give you advantage, with your8yrs experience you would max out score for work experience but hopefully you still have age in your favour. and no your younger bro can not come along with you if thats what you meant by dependant.

use the crs tool to calculate your points and see what it comes to, i believe you should be well over the typical draw scores if you have age in your favour.

Your MSc and 8 years working experience will give you great scores. You need to get at least LRSW 8777 in your IELTS as well. Then we don't know your age.

How old is your younger brother?

Hello house, the NOC one chooses depends on experience and not the qualification right?

Then, please help provide advice on the below

- someone studied sciences, has one year NYSC experience, has another one year in a stockbroking firm then currently works in an auditing firm for one year now. can the person go ahead and claim points for 3yrs experience? given that the experiences are distinct and can't qualify for one NOC... also, different from the Bsc acquired.

Thanks smiley

You can fax it to them yourself. If you didn't attach it to the forms you submitted to Unilag, then you'll have to do it yourself
