Congratulations and thank you for sharing your story. It will help to answer some of the most "commonly asked questions" on this thread.

Back to NYSC matter, I actually think NYSC is a blessing in disguise. The one year work experience gained during the service year is what will make some people to be qualified for this EE/FSW program. Those people soliciting that it should be scrapped should come and see how the NYSC service year has given some people a life-time blessing.

I wish everyone who will be writing the IELTS test today good success in their exams.

Hi. Please I want to find out...can one use NYSC as work experience if he wasn't paid?

I would suggest the date on the certificate as it serves as the evidence. .. the other date is merely implied, no back up whatsoever. .

Hello house, the NOC one chooses depends on experience and not the qualification right?

Then, please help provide advice on the below

- someone studied sciences, has one year NYSC experience, has another one year in a stockbroking firm then currently works in an auditing firm for one year now. can the person go ahead and claim points for 3yrs experience? given that the experiences are distinct and can't qualify for one NOC... also, different from the Bsc acquired.

Thanks smiley
Guys, I really need your 'expert' opinion here as I have contrasting views on this.. please smiley

LONG POST ALERT!!
My Canadian family, gather abeg, gist dey!!!!!
so i have been a ghost reader (probably one of the oldest) since d days of Zandora N Duppyshoo!!
i had to come out of my 'anti-social media' shell cos its madatory i give back to this thread!!!
i hope my post encourages someone esp those going thru some lows in any part of their lives...

**acronym
OICV......OFFICERS IN CHARGE FROM MY VILLAGE!

Hubby and i started this Canada waka since 2014. it was still FSW then, we browsed and browsed, but unfortunately our skills werent in demand then (we are both Pharmacists). we were so discouraged when EE started in Jan 2015 cos we thought we had to be licensed to be able to apply. we decided to go thru masters route...no show, we just wanted to get out even if it was to Ghana or Congo sef.

mid 2015,i stumbled on Zandora's thread, u can imagine our joy when we realised it diddnt require licensure. i read every single page on d other thread, knew so much about EE, and even started advising people to try it. at this point we had all the knowledge but never did anything physically about it.
fast forward to April 2016... we suffered a major loss due to medical negligence, and we decided we had had enough of this country!!!

i started my PEBC evaluation and all required documents were submitted by August except my transcript, little did we know the 'officers in charge from my village' aka OICV had picked up our case file during their quarterly meeting!!!!!
i started processing my transcript from May and they didnt submit it till August, was so relieved until PEBC told me my useless school submitted an incomplete transcript and it was rejected!!! who does that furthermore, marriage cert. was cut off, so i had to spend another DHL money for that!! They also claimed they didnt see my letter of good standing from pharmacy council!! i was so dejected!! how could the plan of the OICV gone so well? 3 rejections from only PEBC
i finally paid another #60,000 for a new transcript to be sent which they did with their snail speed and sent feb 2017. waited to hear from PEBC so we could dive in2 d pool with my proposed score of 468....nothing. contacted them March, they replied after d 2nd mail they were yet to receive my letter of good standing (this was after sending them several mails of the DHL delivery to their office and even the name of their staff that signed after delivery), i just concluded 'OICV' must have collabored with the guy in Abuja somehow. we were tired abeg and just closed their case, decided to evaluate hubby's masters via IQAS.

IQAS was fast, hubby dived in2 d pool with 434 in Feb.
we had written IELTS Dec 2016
hubby... LRSW.... 8.5, 7.5, 8.5, 7.5
Urs truely............8, 8, 7.5, 7

Even though we were sure CRS would never go beyond 450, we just wanted him to be swimming.
Ontario opened and CRS started declining!!!! wow! there was hope! after much convincing from me to close our profile and open a new one for Ontario, hubby finally agreed and did that around 11pm, unknown to us, there was a surprise draw and the cut off was 434!!!! we were supposed to receive an ITA that midnight!!!!!! everyone that knew about our parole blamed my over sabi like hell! chai! i felt so bad!! but at least, there was hope!
below is our timeline;
ITA.....APRIL 5, 2017
AOR.....JULY 4

the 'OICV' somehow convinced the VO i was a criminal in Canada awaiting decision on my offence. we wrote a LOE immediately thet i had neva been to Canada let alone commit a crime!! see me see wahala!!
IP2......OCT 20
PPR..... OCT 23
TOTAL NO OF DAYS FROM AOR.....111 ie 3months 19days of excrutiating wait!!

whatever u might be going through, pls use it as a driving force to achieve your dreams. we started at the lowest point in our lives and used it forge ahead, it will never be easy, but with God all things r possible, he came thru for us and i know he will for u 2..

Yea, that's true. There was a spike in the rate early August.
Congrats, again!

Thank you. I used Oanda as the currency converter of choice. So it was about 285 CAD to 1 Naira at time of submission. I put in extra 70,000 in case of fluctuations, thought it is locked at AOR.

Okay thanks for the reply. What would I need to to show nysc experience. Would I just need a reference letter from my place of work?

I got a reference letter from my employer in CIC format. The duties listed must also match your selected NOC code by at least 70%.
