Lookman is a very good player and he plays like a champion.

The Olayinkas and Onyekurus are our own but lookman needs to be invited just to be capped for us to be guaranteed he is ours. This is because he could be another Alaba or Ali. grin

I want NFF to move for Onomah, Ojo, Lookman, Iorfa, Ilori, Solanke and Ameobi.

These boys are very talented. Trust me. grin

so because he could be another Alaba or Alli we should start capping any random individual? What happened to merit? So if because of Lookman, Onyekuru is omitted from our squad list you will be happy? This is after you cried foul from morning till night about Oshimen getting a call up ahead of some other players. The type of sentiments we bring into play when clamouring for some players is......shocking

Rohr won’t pull off any surprises in 25-man Eagles squad, team off to Morocco Sunday – official
By admin - October 30, 2017, 9:53 am182 0

Gernot Rohr will not pick any player outside the pool of players he has been working with for next month’s matches against Algeria and Argentina and the team will begin training camp in Morocco on Sunday, officials have said.

Nigeria face Algeria in an inconsequential 2018 World Cup qualifier on November 10, before they take on Argentina in a friendly four days later in Russia.

Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye disclosed the team’s training camp will open on Sunday in Casablanca, Morocco, and 25 players have been picked with two others placed on standby.

Ibitoye said there will no surprise call-ups by Rohr as he will work with the pool of players he has been working with over the months.

The squad will be made official today.

“We should not expect players who have not been in the pool of players the coach has worked with,”Ibitoye said.

“There will be 25 players called up with two others on standby.”

For me about the returnees , since the striking and goal keeping position is a problem, Rohr should call all the strikers rearing up now and good keepers and see which ones is potent. The truth is Ighalo alone will not surfice !

It seems NFF are monitoring this lad. He has played all the matches for Lugo this season from start to finish and Lugo is currently topping the league.

Instead of people clamouring for Azuibike who is currently chopping bench in his club, I will rather go for Ramon Azeez. grin

He will surely be in radar of NFF.. Until we have vacancy in his position he will still be overlooked... Post 2018 ...

I can't believe that just to defend Martins' inclusion you make comment like "no be age them dey take play ball".

Then go and invite the U17 players to the national team since age does not matter and take them to the WC.

Those players you are mentioning are still in competitive leagues and they are not Nigerians. Always consider the Nigerian factor. Africa as a whole.

Obafemi Martins cannot add value to that team. He cannot bring more than what the current strikers are bringing.

If Rohr choses to invite him, good luck to him.

The fact that some these players are in big teams shows they got there by merit.

Morata was a bench warmer I Madrid but now he is a starter in Chelsea..

Lookman case is different from Oshimen because he is getting game time than Oshimen presently.

My policy with foreign breed with potential is different because they can be lured to play for another country..

Mbappe is just 18 and he has formed the integral part of the French national team.

Dele Ajiboye says he will grab Eagles chance with both hands, dreams return to Spain
By admin - October 30, 2017, 9:13 am170 0

The No 1 goalkeeper of champions Plateau United Dele Ajiboye has told SCORENigeria he will literally grab his chance with Super Eagles just as he revealed he will hope to return to Spain to continue his pro career.

Ajiboye could be presented his chance in next month’s matches against Algeria and Argentina after he has been part of the Eagles squad recently.

The former Shooting Stars shot stopper has represented Nigeria at U17, U20 and Olympic team levels and said he also hopes for his Super Eagles breakthrough.

“I will be delighted to be called up again as I am also looking for my opportunity to feature for the Super Eagles and I hope to grab it with both hands,” he told SCORENigeria

“I cannot wait to get my chance.

“My club have resumed full pre-season training and besides that I also do personal training in the evening.”

The 27-year-old ‘Aji-boy’ revealed that his other target is to return to Spain and continue his pro career after a short-lived stint there with lower league Pontevedra CF between 2009 and 2011.

“I would really love to return to Spain,” he said.

“I previously played in the lower league, but even then the standard was very high and it was my performance in Spain that earned me my call-up to the Olympic team.”

Yes we need to catch them but at the same time we can't just indiscriminately call any player whether Naija born or foreign born. In fact with the foreign born we need to be even more circumspect because if we cap them under the idea of 'catch them young' and they turn out to be flops don't you think the British press for example would have a treat deriding us and making it difficult for others to make that choice? With Naija born such risk does not exist. This thing calls for some measure of discernment in being able to detect those who have great potential.

If we were a honest Nation, the NFF would have her own scouts but unfortunately we are not cos if dem create scouts now na wuru wuru players wey pay money go full our team.

I have even seen younger players in world cup teams. These are exceptionally gifted players. Same goes for players that are above 35. Exceptional players. Just a hand full of them. Martins does not have kind of ability to perform at that stage at his current age.

Which is why i'm of the opinion that we need to build a relationship with them, so they will feel more Nigerian. So when their careers pick up,
it won't be awkward for us to give them a call up then.

Oh Andrea Pirlo was doing it at great level then with Juventus.

Buffon just won best keeper in d world still with Juventus.

Defoe still in d premiership,i remember he went to MLS one time and returned back to premiership.

Patrice Ever still stealing d show at Marseille.

Danny Alves moved from Barca to juve now at PSG.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic from PSG to Man utd,pls check d pedigree.

With due respect to Martins he lacks d pedigree of these players.

Martins is a Nigerian player who is still active and if Rohr decided that he want Martins,no issue,he is welcome,it's left for him to prove himself.I remember Keshi gave him a recalled but couldn't meet up.
