i dont like expensive Joke bro , we have lost millions using quack contractors , how can you compare this two buildings together? ......... i want to have your point please .

Jokes apart. The difference between my project and yours is this.

The house was built to this current stage and abandoned in 2012.While your building should be a year old or less.
Tge

I see the Pillars in your building doesn't look good.Might have to bring it down.

For the pillars a briclayers hammer would do the job.

Looking at the building, whoever built it should have made sure the building is higher than the Natural Ground level & not on the same level.

Like you said, l actually also think FRAME of Door should be installed before Tiling, but the DOOR itself should be fitted after Tilling.
Doing so helps to firmly hold the frame in place while ensuring that the Door Pane has the Right length to reach Up and touch the Tiles tightly to avoid some pests sneaking under the door (like Cockroaches going from Kitchen to Bedroom! angry )

It's also important to have entrance doors fitted before tiling. The inner doors can be installed after tiling though the frames should be installed.

guy man , i am old enough to be your father , i dont know much about buildings and i was in belgium when this contract was going on , so shut up . 4 million would go along way .

You are actually as old as my father, but the illiterate version of him! Xgrin grin grin

So, you eventually agreed that you need to get rid of those chicken-leg Pillars now?

We have been telling you that since 2011.
Mbok, l thought you said it was your brother who owns the house and you are just helping him to oversee things, here in Nigeria?
Which time you go Belgium come back?

Just make sure l dont see those Pillars there again.
And please, remove the Roofing and raise the floor of that Chicken shed before flood waters come back and do you bad thing.

Its quite much for your building footprint. Your house is just 17m x 14m approx. I just finished installing (some days ago) for a house of about 24m x 16m and total cost was about 300,000 although we used a cost saving method.

But if you're using PVC for the gutter and downpipes, you will spend 350k or thereabouts.

If you need more details, contact me on +2347038935532.

Thanks. I will keep in contact when am ready.

I got a quotation of 290k for parapet dimensions of 17m x 13m.
Would that be appropriate or fair?

Dont you think it is acute poverty that actually makes you build this chicken-Pillars since 2011 and still be looking for a contractor to remove the Chicken Pillars in 2017, while abusing others of building chicken Coop! grin grin
It is not by force to build house with Belgium money now?

I just want to warn the Contractors to be careful with this sort of Client because just as we have bad Contractors, we also have Clients from hell. undecided undecided

Dont be too concerned about how much the Contractor quoted (I am not saying you should not be worried if given an unreasonable quote).
What l think you should pay more attention to, is that the job is well done and your Parrapet wont start falling-off after a few years, l have seen such happen.

To be sure you are not wasting money or being coned, get involved in your building.
Negotiate labour alone while you buy and supply the needed Cement, Sand, Iron and wood to do the form-work.
keep a close eye on what is being done and ensure they stick to "good standards".

You may agree to even #200,000 and the Contractor then spacse the hanging irons at distances that are too far apart to give effective support or fills the Parapet with a very weak mix of concrete (in your absence) and you will never know, until a few years down the line.
grin grin grin

I would say you read through this thread and other threads where Parapet has been done so you can familiarise yourself with the knowledge because it is not a big deal at all (if you read and have the knowledge o).

A good build is not just about how much (High or Low) is charged or paid, it is more of KNOWLEDGE and CORRECT SUPERVISION

Goodluck.

Yes I can, but more details will be needed than just the front elevation. The plan of the building in question will also be needed so as to know where the flat roof will slope to because although it's called a flat roof, it's sloped at a very little angle that's barely visible so as to discharge the rain water.

Thank you very much, boss. I really appreciate your guidance and I just tell you that I've enjoyed this support for almost 2 years now.
I must apologise I misled you, the quotation is actually for water collection system round the edge of the roof and not parapet.
Pls find the quotation attached
