Sir,half year result was 9B and nine months 5B.
This result is good for unity, wema and sterling banks not for a big bank like Diamond bank.
With this result,i am 80% sure there will be no dividend by year end.
Dividend paying stocks are what people are looking to buy now.....i am sure diamond will not have a pleasant time from now going forward(nov 2017 to April 2018)
remember that last year 3rd quarter PAT was 3B and diamond is the 5th richest bank in Nigeria, the good thing is that they didn't make loss. I think that fide, diamond and fcmb has a way of trading within the same price range. There are better companies out there though, but this company is a buy at N1

It is a good result no doubt, the only problem is that the stock is not liquid enough to command rapid capital appreciation.

It is only 'hope' that would make anyone enter diamond at 1.0 with this result. The result is also expected anyway; compare this to the trend last year. Deceitful eps goes up Q1 Q2, regression to the truth Q3 Q4. That's exactly what happened last year. So I expect year end eps to be around 10kobo
...@Agba, it's not only eps and other fundamental parameters that could help with stock selection, even at that good fundamental stocks sometimes found their stock prices going down. Numbers of such abound. Diamond bank between N0.95 and N1.00, technically is in the region where demand will be high & going by the simple law of demand, many investors will see the stock very cheap/bargain to keep for a period.

Approach to making good profit in financial market is not limited to fundamental analysis or neither technical or sentiment analysis as well.

Diamond is re-writing their banking recipe book at the moment, after completion market would decide if their new "meal" is sweet...until then Diamond is no no for me .. if you even dash me I will sell it .... I look at my losses/gains in terms of opportunity cost

Diamond is not in the big 5. The big 5 are FUGAZ, First Bank, UBA, GT Bank, Access Bank and Zenith Bank.

agreed but some of us no too sabi technical analysis .. I use fundamental to pick then the little technical analysis I know to determine my entry point... even though I get the tech part wrong, I have the strong fundamental is my line of defence

...yes, the market is wide and you can use any method you are comfortable with to enter and exit the market; that is exactly my point.

You actually get the trick. The stock is currently out of favour. Price driven low for no just cause (sentiment). I cant see it It gained support at N1.If you enter @ N1 and the support is broken . margin of safety will most likely bail you out over a period of time, more so you could make a decent profit. If you are still not comfortable with entering at N1., watch for the break and go for a bargain (Agba style).

Diamond is a mid-sized Bank, we know the big banks. If 20% of what happened to First Bank should happen to Diamond Bank, we all know that Diamond Bank would have gone under.

Hehehe. You postulated otherwise for FCMB, we now know where they are (share price wise). Based on your antecedent (and if I have cash), I will gladly jump in at N1.00

My only worry is that Sir Peter is still on board. Nothing good happens to the share price of any stock owned by Sir Peter.
Una no go kill person for this forum.

What is your definition of richest?
Diamond bank is sick my brother and the sickness is feasible.
If you must buy Diamond at this point, it should be on your knowledge of TA. Fundamentally the bank is a no no.

Nothing happened to First Bank. It is the failure of the regulator to rein in the criminals on the board that happened. The cash is in their pockets.

I have it, just as I have many others, with this result, the bank is gradually coming out their problems (no longer posting loss). Remember that many companies have gone from NSE, especially those low cap and penny stocks you love so much, they can be profitable if they are on profit but once they post loss like diamond did few years ago, you can hardly pull out your funds from them. However, I know that there are many wonderful opportunities in other stocks now, but I will trade diamond at the right time

I have come to understand that the best investment mind frame for nse is 3yrs........I had this 2 stocks(DF "then Tiger brands" and eterna) in mind this time 3 yrs ago but the sentiments on this forum discouraged me back then, my biggest pain was when one guy made an analyses of why he would buy DF cos Aliko paid #3 while he just paid #1 for the same stock,I was convinced but I did not join the bus.......God knows the fantastically sweet profit I would have been sitting on given the huge funds @ my disposal bck then.....
Looking forward I think there are some stocks that might repeat that cycle but I will wait for January b4 I place my bet.................................
