I think you should take this up with her legally, while you may have moved on think of how many people she has done this to and how many more will get such treatment if you don't fight her. I understand employers do not like being left for new jobs but people have to move at some point. Get a lawyer or seek advise from experts in the labor ministry and then press charges. You worked for your money no matter how small, so you should get paid. You owe timid Nigerians this favour, fight for your right. Expose her if it cone to that, its wrong not to pay labourers for their time and work. Nigerian s have always been scared to fight that's why we get treated unjustly most times. But your case can make other timid Nigerians standup and say "no" to unjust leaders. My 2 kobo contribution, I hope it was helpful. 2 Likes 1 Share |

You have two options: Walk away. You'll spend far more trying to claim the money than it is worth. Chalk it up to the price of experience On the other hand, if you have time and the fighting spirit, follow the advice of @betclaire. Its good 1 Like |

Is it no Nigerian employer again. lol. The Op is an olodo. That you should have waited for your last salary to be paid before dropping resignation letter.Mscheww. Your pay as entered one chance. Just forget about it and move on. If I'm your boss sef I wont pay you 1. Because you didnt give due notice to resign 2. You're not smart. 1 Like |
Dear All, I need every advice i can get here. I got a job with an accounting company and worked for 2 months (i got another job before the 2nd month ended). Meanwhile, throughout my stay there, i was not given any offer letter to sign. When i got this new job, i asked my new employer to give me 1 week in order for me to close up on a few jobs and submit my resignation letter. In other words, i gave 1 week notice before leaving. Other staff of the former company received their September salary just last week. I called to ask for mine and the excuses i have been getting are: *You did not give due notice so you'll forfeit your salary since you signed the contract (which i did not). . Abeg what kind of advise you need again? Shey you can not let by gone be by gone? Abi you want to chop thank you and chop very much?? |

@Allsmyles Such a learner! Next time, collect salary before dropping letter of resignation. A colleague of mine did the same thing you did and they began to reel off imaginary notice period off his contract. Someone under probation suddenly had to give a months notice or his salary was cut in half. Meanwhile some full confirmed staff na 2 weeks notice period o! Na so my guy lose out Be very wise, next time get paid before dropping letter of resignation. All the best in your new job. 1 Like |

Thank you.. but there was no way i was gonna stay no knowing what day of the month she would pay. Imagine she just paid last week, i would have had to wait till last week before leaving. |
