exactly why I've ignored him. comparing Nwakali 3 years ago when he was barely 17, to a 24-year-old's achievement now.. Abi was Rohr even the coach 3 years ago. But he believes it's the NFF. Wasn't it the same Azeez who went to the world cup in 2014 under the NFF's nose? Was he not rewarded then for his showing with Almeria? I don't even get his argument. safarigirl: 1 Like |

I'm not in support of the Musa call up sha.. but truth is we can't expect the list to go our way 100%. I think the list is a very good one.. I give it 90%. daveP: 2 Likes |

Joebie: I'm quite satisfied with this list, it's to a very large extent fair. It's a match winning selection, so I think that cuts it. I would have loved to have Dessers, but that wasn't the case. I can't cry foul because my other favorites didn't make it, hereby accusing the coach of corruption. We can't always have it our ways, we're not Rorh. So happy to see Onyekuru, he must surely start in the absence of Moses. Brian Idowu too, seems his switch has been settled. happy he's also a left back. Nice one too Nwakali. 2 Likes |

forgiveness: All these just because of one player. This selection is good enough to win us the game, so what? I personally don't see why Musa should be invited in place of Kayode too. It shouldn't be about only Kayode, there are other strikers who are currently outscoring and out-assisting Kayode currently and still didn't make the cut, so what's the fuss about. |

Joebie: Chidiebere Nwakali is 21 years this year. How can he 17 years old 3years ago? Ramon started playing in LA liga 2 at just 19/20 years of age. No excuse . Ramon Azeez deserved to be part of that team because he played regularly in LA liga for two seasons. Chidiebere Nwakali failed woefully in LA liga 2. He couldn't perform atva higher level than Norway. I presumed they want to use the national team to boost his chances of getting visa in UK. Just the same way they did for Ndidi. |

Mujtahida: The Norwegian league is ranked no 27 much below Azerbaijan and Cyprus. He plays for Sogndol Fc which is in the relegation zone, third to the bottom. His contract is owned by Manchester city which means nothing in the context of quality. Has not even played for the academy. In reality when city ship you out to Norway and to a team third from bottom, you are simply not rated and just an investment gone sour. To be a RB in the Norwegian league and to be considered quality you should be one of the 3 best RB's in the league. Mold and Rosenburg have shown some quality. But way off top European quality. Finally, I am bewildered on what basis I am certain that we have far better prospects across far far better leagues in Europe. Who have shown quality and potential in league's with a far higher standard of quality and competitiveness. It seems brother Egunje has come through the back door. 5 Likes |

zuchyblink: Quality is Quality if he was that good what's he doing in the Norwegian league in a team third from bottom facing relegation. A team that will struggle to compete with non- league vanarama in England. |

jotey: Bruv something ain't right, it's daylight robbery. Let's be honest Norwegian league players. Uzoho makes some sense not overwhelming but for a youngster to break into LaLiga says something. The proposition cannot be ignored, the best players are in the best leagues, best teams and if not then are widely recognised as the best in thier leagues. For instance Aina is undoubtedly the best RB in the championship that makes him top quality. Just like Tega Abrahams is the best young striker in the premiership after tearing up the Championship last season. 2 Likes |

Mickael2: I am sure the more experienced will tell you that youth football and the senior game have a huge gulf. If this player is that good he is playing in the Eredivisie He will be noticed. Quality does not hide agent or no agent. When Tega scattered the Championship there were over 10 premiership clubs interested in him ARGUMENT no deh. 1 Like |

soetanoreoluwa: I don't know how you can be playing in one of the lowest rated leagues in Europe below Azerbaijan and be called quality furthermore playing for a club that is 3rd from bottom. Finally you were benched did not play in your last game which you lost 4-1 but the coach left you out. Playing in a club is not the issue it's the quality of the club and league. Your club form is justification for availability up, the better the club and league the greater the justification for the call up Finito. 2 Likes |

Chrismario: The proposition you make is the exception and not the rule. However the fact remains overwhelmingly the best players will be found in the best leagues and best teams. Shehu has done well in the SE but in reality we don't have a comparison to make to know how well. Until Aina plays as RB we really don't know how good he is in comparison. I remember when Yobo played his first game at RB in the AFCON 2002 first game he relegated every contender and the rest is history. Prior to that time he was playing as a right winger for Marseille. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by komekn(m): 2:38am On Oct 31, 2017 |
Chrismario: Yes and it rightly should be so. Onomah has been playing first team football for Tottenham competing for a place with top quality world class international midfielders. Not surprisingly his opportunities have been limited. Add to that he was the Anchor man on which England succes as the U20 World cup was based on. We had unprecedented situation where all the goals in that final match were scored by Nigerian origin players. The U20 world cup is a far better test of quality than the U17 as players are really mostly adult full professional players. He chose to go to Aston Villa and has once again become the anchor man in midfield. Showing his true quality. |

komekn: At the time, this list was compiled Joel Obi was out. He played a day before the list was released. I believe that obi's chances will come. Osimhen calls have dried out now. The only player that raises eyebrows is Musa and i think he is called for more than just footballing reasons. 1 Like |
