This Maserati was parked close to the apartment where we worked today. I mean, who drives a Maserati but lives in an apartment? lol. Boston people. Rent is expensive in Boston so i can understand. and also the houses are tightly packed. It was hard finding parking

I just got back from my first job. We worked in Boston today. Traffic was horrible. I didn't get to go for my interview Soi called the HR for a new appointment. New date is Friday afternoon.

Can you imagine, you are unable to attend your job interview and you called to ne reschedule, and you were given new date which is Friday immediately.

If it were to be Nigeria, to even pick up your phone to call the HR or test the HR for interview reschedule would be hell, and even if you summon the courage, you would not receive feedback from them.

I have sent mail to alot of coy rescheduling my interview, but they would read your mail and phone messages, but they won't even attend to you.

I think Nigerian coy HR have a long way to go, majority of them are too lazy, I don't know what is their work, if not to interview candidate.

Yes. I know naija situation. Employees are treated like they are done a favor being employed.
Here, you are providing your service and time to them. Sp you get paid for either or both. Sometimes at work, we stand around and gist all day. But we have to pretend we are working. So, we get paid for our time. If there are less things to do and i don't wanna be seen idling around, i take the elevator to the 3rd floor, act like i forget something, take the elevator back to the groind floor, use the bathroom, take the elevator to the 3rd floor again then to the first floor, time spent doing all these is like 10-20mins. Oyinbo no care o, everytime they see you, they wanna see yiu moving or doing something. Don't just stand around not doing anything.

I can relate to what you just said, during our school days the, when we see ourselves doing or gisting unnecessarily, we just tell each other that "time is CGPA", so lets go and use the time to jack small thing into our head.

True story:
i used to pay hard hard prayers in Naija. "MFM die by fire" prayers. shouting and screaming prayers but ever since i left, my prayers are "on the go" prayers, simple silent prayers, no need to stress God. I discovered, if the system works, your "enemies" don't need to "die by fire". You just need to do your part and see the result. prayers are just added bonus to it

Sometimes, i even spend time waiting on the elevator deciding which floor i want to go. You gotta be smart too. No use another person work kill yourself.

Regardless, i am a good employee.i do my work. I get things done.what i don't like is doing another person's work. If i complete mine fast enough, I'll be sent to help another person out. But these othee people don't want to work, they take smoke breaks every hour for 5-10 mins then chats about unimportant things. I don't smoke so i believe i deserve my "elevator" breaks too.
