An Igbo woman identified as Aishat Obi, has revealed her love for Islam religion after converting from Christianity. According to her, she is proud to be an Igbo Muslim despite heavy backlash which might be associated with that. Read what she shared on Facebook.

Because Islam has come to stay in Igbo land same way Christianity and other religion's came.and their is nothing anybody can do about because God has already signed it long long time ago before I was even born. Remember converting to Islam does not mean you will come and be packing money.no.you must face challenges.just be strong and hold onto your faith.because he who laugh last laugh best.

Good development. May Allah assist her stand firm. The problem is that igbos and their environment is highly negatively charged against non Christians and generally to non igbos - probably reason why the population of non igbos is so low in their land. Even in d north they still criticize and abuse Muslims and hausas . I can still remember while in primary school some of my neighbours who are igbos were fond of saying I'm going to break my head when they see me going for prayers. Others were even saying I don't look like a Muslim- even as a small boy.
