of course, very beatable.

First, no other player besides Messi has scored for Argentina in almost a year. Secondly, their defense is pretty poor - old, slow and mistake prone.

forgiveness you said two things are involved you can't for the purposes of argument exclude one to the detriment of the other.

you typed these words using your own fingers not mine

1. playing in the top 10 best leagues in the world
2. playing for the best clubs either in the top 10 or outside

so based on the bolded does ajagun play for the best club in belgium? simple yes or no

If Belgium is in the top ten best leagues in the world, don't you think he falls into the first category? grin

Two thinks are involved not one and there is no third option. grin

Mujtahida:

Mention the top ten leagues in the world and let me tell you that Denmark, Greece(I know one or two of your beloved play in Greece, Belgium, English Championship(where your favourite Thiago plays), Austria, Switzerland, Scotland are not in the ten top leagues.
As per your 2nd category, So a player playing in the best club in Lesotho is better than one playing in the bottom in Norway?

While I prefer that we have a team studded with players playing in top clubs in top leagues because it enhances the pedigree of our team, I always look forward to any player called upon to give a good account of himself in our national team irrespective of the league or club he plays for. I have my bias but I can't be biased against good performance. I argued against Martins precisely because I feel his time with our team is over but if he comes and performs I can't argue against that.

Let me use this popular quote of Alexander Pope who said in response to the debate regarding which form of Government is best once said 'of forms of government, let fools contend; what is best is best'

I will apply it to say 'of players to play in our national team and the leagues they are picked from, let talking heads contend; what is quality is quality. Kpom

Is Belgium not in the top ten in Europe (that was what I meant)?

The second category is restricted to Europe only

Are u comparing ezenwa to enyeama ?
safarigirl:
and what is Super Eagles quality?

The way wey una dey talk like say na Buffon and De Gea don dey keep for us since....the Super Eagles quality goalies, were they having constant clean sheets? In fact, it was a TRADITION that we MUST collect at least one each game. Ezenwa was probably the first goalie that kept a clean sheet for us in a competitive game in years.

Enyeama was collecting from the likes of Ethiopia and Lesotho sef.

You guys should stop insulting the players who have stepped up to the plate when we most needed them. Most of them never envisioned playing for the duration of the qualifiers, we have used three different goalies and have only conceded 3 goals so far. That is something

Icon79:
So even if we take your word for it that he wasn't tested in any of those 3 games, mind you, how does that justify your assertions that he's not an Egus Material? Is it his fault that he wasn't tested??

Anyway, if he wasn't tested against Cameroun and Zambia, don't worry he would soon get tested. I am confident that he would be tested by the Argies, even without Messi, they still pack a lot of firepower on the attack.

nobody has argued otherwise all some people have argued is that there is no guarantee that with top players from top leagues you will beat a ''lesser opposition'' if not england should have crushed iceland, while uruguay, italy and england would have wiped the floor with costa rica in 2014
That's why national team football is different from club football and I feel patriotism and national pride are the ingredients that make the difference. Iwobi said scoring that goal against Zambia in our last match gave him a feeling like no other. Coach of Hull city Slutsky said that after the international break players like Aina and Grosicki whose nations qualified were very up beat.
Again, even in the EPL the top big spending leagues with good players and excellent coaches get beat every season by mid table and bottom placed teams.

komekn:

Firstly Rohr can not do everything he will have to rely on some people and recieve and accept reports from them.

If those members of the scouting team are from the NFF then we'll you know what's happening.

Then you ask what was the nature content and process management and delivery that led them to think he is good enough.

For most Francophone countries in Africa the first port of call is the French league. It's simple that's where the largest overwhelming number of thier players are.

Where is the largest pool of overwhelming number of Nigerian origin players outside of Nigeria

Add to that the level of available quality. Then what on earth are you scouting for players in Norway for.

There is no EPL academy without a considerable number of Nigerian players. From the EPL to league one there are way too many Nigerian players who are not on the radar of the English FA.

They invited a player from Norway and it's rubbed you the wrong way. Now you are suggesting Academy players for our national team. No wahala. Iwobi was in the Academy when he made his debut. So tell me which Nigerian player(s) is/are in this academies that we have not invited. I'd say it again: please don't mention those whose nationality as at today doesn't read Nigeria.

Bravo was in Real Sociedad, top club in Spain. Cardif were a strong side too and just got demoted, I mean since you want to tackle Komekn I am pretty sure you know he has said that the Championship is on par with the belgian league which still is quality for me. So you factually have 6 quality guys from quality clubs in quality leagues, if I search I could find more

Mujtahida:

By regular I mean that they footballer who are not in the top leagues. I no just talk am without a factual basis. The excerpt below is from an article which I read some weeks back and informed my earlier assertion. Now read this:

Apart from their opening game against Australia, they stuck with their three-at-the-back roots that had served Bielsa so well, lining up in a 3-4-1-2 formation, that contained the dangerous front two of Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez, and Napoli’s Eduardo Vargas – with Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal playing behind them.

Beyond this impressive front three, and left wing-back Mauricio Isla (who plays for Juventus), much of Chile’s team play their club football in quite moderate environments. Influential centre-back Gary Medel was relegated to the English Championship with Cardiff prior to the World Cup. His team-mate Gonzalo Jara played in the Championship before the tournament too. Deep-lying midfielder Marcelo Diaz plays in Switzerland with FC Basel Silva with Osasuna in Spain, and goalkeeper Claudio Bravo – at the age of 31 – was signed by Barcelona mid-tournament with question marks over whether he would play regular football at the Catalan giants. THE REST OF THE TEAM PLAY THEIR FOOTBALL IN SOUTH AMERICA

He passed the two tests wella. grin
He didn't pass the two test namely to play in the top ten leagues in the world and top ten team in the best league or outside. Belgium is ranked number 12 by the bleacherreport.com (fails test one) http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2691880-ranking-the-most-entertaining-leagues-in-world-football

Ajagun plays for KV Kortrijik ranked number 14 out of 16 teams in the Belgian Jupiler.(fails test two) See attached screenshot of teams in the Belgian top flight

So you see! Even by your own test, your own criteria, your own standard, Ajagun and I am sure so many other players you clamour for fail.

While I like your test I know it is not the ultimate criteria.
