They will get used to you with time. Protocol how? Can't you just walk in? If it's not working after a month and you need to change that's fine, Baby will get used to new faces

Giddyperson:

Me too but the creche sef, protocol to see the baby is another thing, they would be wasting the little time I have, plus my visit always seems like such an inconvenience to them, they would be acting like inspector is visiting, makes me try to limit my visit to once a day. And how can I say let me change creche when baby would already be used to their faces by month end.

huh??

my creche has no restrictions o...u can come 25 times a day sef.
not meaning to put ideas in ur head, but impromptu visits are good...so u can catch dem doing 'ihe aruru ala', that's if at all they do.
That's the thing, I can't do impromptu visits cuz they would not even let you enter the creche area like that, you'd first sit at the reception then they call the creche people, then they bring out your baby [s]before I'd transfer my kwasiorkor to the other kids I guess[/s] grin or more like time to clean up anything fishy. Anyway, can't even run, hubby is taking this creche thing hard enough, if I decide to change next month I would kuku kill him. cheesy @Hunniesuzzie

Ah, na real wa. Mine isn't that formal. There's a reception area but once you come you can enter into the general play area or any of the rooms to see what's going on (after you take off your shoes sha). Well so far she's fine there's no problem. Did you enter the creche area when you checked it out?

Sure but even on that day, they first informed the creche people and they got ready for my coming in while I waited at the reception until they said 'you can come in now' cheesy unlike the other creches where we just walked into the place and had a look. I've noticed that only staff and students go through that door, all parents, even those of the older kids, wait at the reception. If you ask them now they'd say its germs

Good day mamas, I just noticed a red/pinkish pimple-like something on my 6 weeks old baby's navel. Am worried. What can cause this and what can I do about it?
Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by spiceeamiee(f): 2:03pm On Nov 02, 2017
It is o. When they came to take my baby, I started crying. Other parents that came to drop their children started laughing at me. I told them I would come and pick her by 1pm. Between 8am and 12pm, I had called the creche 4times, my husband had called them 3times. By 12:30 I jeje went back to pick her up grin

Nne it's well oh
Honestly this tin is not easy at all.
Had to make a very very important trip this morning and will be spending one night. Since yesterday i've been ill, just the thought of it. Since i left i've called a million times, MIL is tired, she keeps singing "sweet mother" when i call. Just thinking of how he'll cope at night is making me dizzy be he sucks a lot at night.
Meanwhile the bobo is just playing and having a good time, judging from his voice from the call background. I think this separation thing is harder on us than the babies. I don pray tire, may God keep them safe.

Biko ask a doctor about this he's so young. You can see a doctor when you go for immunization if you haven't done the 6 weeks yet

I would be extremely wary of a crèche that operates that way.

They have got a lot to hide.

Parents should be allowed free access to where their children are kept at any time. This is a service parents are paying for. All that talk of passing germs, etc is BULLSH*T. if they are that concerned, then there should be a bottle of hand sanitizers at the entrance of the babies room or they ask parents to take off their shoes.

I will not be surprised if the crèche is understaffed or there are too many babies in the room or the area is unkempt or the babies are left unattended to.

Personally, I show up at my son's crèche at anytime that suits me. I punch in the access code at the door and I am inside the building. Even days I know I will be coming in early to pick him up, I do not tell them. I just show up unannounced.

Happy sunday wonderfully made mamas.

Pls i need tips /answers on the following.
1.how to potty train my son. he will be a 1yr and 5months by next month.

2.I want to change his milk from peak 123 to ordinary full cream peak. hope it is in order?

3.is liquid milk good for his age. peak is the only liquid that i know which is full cream, others like three crown, olympic are filled evaporated. which one is better?

4. I cant hear a clear word from him yet. no papa, mama, daddy etc. hope I am safe?

5. I love you all. My regards to the family.

1. I personally feel its too early to potty train a male child at that age. My own idea of potty training is to stop diapers once and for all -both daytime and night time and when we are outdoors. At that age, a child is not really vocal/expressive and you might find the whole potty training process stressful and not successful. What is the point of potty training when you still have to wear diapers at night or when you are outdoors?

I am personally waiting till my son is 2yrs 6months before I potty train and this will be done with the help/support of the staff at his crèche. They have a process that when kids are being potty trained, they get stickers, hi-fives, praises etc for each time they use the toilet. At that age, kids can understand the rewards for good behaviour such as stickers, etc. I also spoke to a Health Visitor (community nurse) and she is also of the opinion that is the best age to potty train a child. I also read somewhere that kids that are 'forcefully' potty trained very early tend to bed wet later on in the pre-teen/teenage years.

2. Stick to full cream milk. I have read negative reviews here from other mums about peak 123

3. Powdered milk is the best. It is more economical and doesn't go bad like evaporated or liquid milk that must be consumed within 2-3 days and left refrigerated. Personally, I buy Nido Milk. Introduced it to my son when he clocked 13months and we have had no issues no far. It is not sweet and I use honey when required to sweeten his cereals, tea, etc.

4. I think at his age, he should have started speaking a few words, even if its basic words like 'baba', 'no', 'oh no', 'mama'.
I shared a very long post (click on the link below) with tips on how to improve communication in a child. Early intervention is key and you have to 'teach' him.
