Gotcha! Sorry, I haven't been following the full discussion. I thought you were trying to say that he was being blacklisted or anything .... because Rohr has had a free hand to select his team so far (but that situation might change now that we've qualified for the world cup). And in addition, Kayode has been invited and tried out by Rohr. Anyway, I agree with you 100% that his non-invite doesn't have anything to do with tribalism. And I am going to fall on anybody like a tonne of bricks if I hear them bringing the tribalism crap to the current Super Eagles team. Gernot Rohr is neither a Yoruba man nor an Igbo man, so mek una keep that tribalism nonsense in check! O pari Kog45: 1 Like |

NFF dropped the ball on Tammy. They simply accelerated his english call-up. All the best to him. 5 Likes |

Mujtahida: Don't we like living in denial in this country? For all the tea in China,Tammy was never going to play for us. After the English triumph at the WYC, Tammy was speaking talking up being part of the generation next for England. Reaching out to him was the right thing to do but on the long run, investing in the talent at hope should be the priority of any FA. I have never heard about any homegrown talent who rejected Nigeria. We are currently ranked just inside the FIFA top 40. The Nff should kick off a conciese programme which would see us crack the FIFA top 10 and remain there for a long time. If we can achieve this feat, the Super Eagles will be the beautiful bride and a very vaiable option for some food the best talents who weren't born in Nigeria. We will continue to get the Tammy, Aogo, Owomeoyla, etc treatment till we get it right. At the moment, Nigeria is like a man who walks into a Ferrari dealership, eyeing up a $200k FF. Only for the attendant to look up and see the man in question putting on sandwich paperbag instead of shoes . 7 Likes 1 Share |

Kog45:I did not dispute the fact that TJ was called up for camping prior to the 94 WC but the fact is he was dropped for the WC list. Does being not registered make him part of the team. On Osaze I know that one. Amodu discovered Osaze. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 3:09pm On Nov 02, 2017 |
Icon4s:It still boils down to the fact that it was our main national team that won the Olympics. Perhaps the argument is that we had a team so young they could function as our main team and u23 team simultaneously. If not Sir, mention who and who were in the main Super Eagles team as at 96 if not these guys(apart from Siasia, Rashidi and Finidi) as Kog45 has shown . In 2000, 2008, 2016 we had our standing senior team apart from the u23 but same was not the case in 1996. 2 Likes |

Joebie: That's true but the reality is that quality and class are not defined by age. Consider that the class of 96 were leading players for thier top level teams in top leagues. This is a standard just as has rightly been said not more than 2 in the current group would have made that team. My conclusion give me group of old men that will win than a group of youngsters that will fail. |

Well, he's been their best player so far. So don't blame him. Anywayz, let's pray that England would be in our group in Russia. We gotta make 'em pay for snatching Tammy from us. O pari safarigirl: 1 Like |

after filling the paper, it will still go through the FA and will still be made public by then so the pressure would have still been as much as it is now only that it is delayed and might delay his call up to the Senior team of England.. before the switch would have been concluded they may still have capped him BTW nobody from all the news i read around that period invited Aina to join the Eagles to train when they were in London so why should that of others be different.. when you need something badly why not go for it and not until they give you on a platter and even as it was given to Tammy on a platter, he still rubbed it on our faces 4 Likes |

As a coach you have to start from somewhere. Rohr is not going to event Nigerians in top clubs over night. You work with the situation on ground. Bonfrere benefited from what we've been building for 5 years with continuity. You know the situation leading to now. I've been talking bout Qatar for no reason. Let's not expect magic in Russia. But for the efforts of Amuneke and Manu Garba in the recent past, and now Rohr. we will have a very strong side leading to Qatar. komekn: |

Icon79: Don't deceive yourself the Onyekuru I saw against PSG is very poor technically and if he doesn't improve can't stay long in limelights. However, he is not in the same league with Kayode. Kayode is far better than Onyekuru. 3 Likes |

goldfish80: The amount of pressure brought to bear on Tammy was unprecedented. It had become almost an issue of national politics. The pressure was coming from the highest quarters. My optimistic mind says na only friendly maybe chance still deh. It says the NFF needs to start recognising talent a lot earlier and not waiting for that talent to become front page news. Then making a public bid with all to see. |

tbaba1234: Yeah you are right. But that Brazilian side was really world class o. They presented 70-80% of that team at France 98. Just almost like Nigeria. But while Brazil finished second Nigeria lost scandalously to Denmark in the second round. That Nigeria's France 98 team IMO was the most gifted we have ever presented at any WC. That was Nigeria's biggest chance to have at least reached the Q/finals or semis. |

Icon4s:My man before i answer your question you said Kanu was a regular and i said No. Now to your question, in the UEFA champions league final against AC Milan he featured, came in from the bench towards the end of the match,Kluivert scored the winning goal,he too was introduced in latter part of the match. Am not disputing he wasn't Ajax player but not regular like Finidi George. |

All this your epistle. What was the priority of previous adminstration? How many years do we need to have a youth league? How many years do we need to have school games well sponsored and working? What does it take to sustain it? What we have is a national problem, and we can see it in all other sectors.. Naija na Naija.. goldfish80: 2 Likes |
