I no dey for long talk because we'd go back and forth on this and I don't have breath for that. hahaha So if England had called him while he was busy loving to play for England, he would have turned them down still abi for his preferred choice? I know that's what you'd so love to believe. TheGoodJoe: |

in fact anyone can be wrong. I want to see quotes. Today Tammy said he is elated to be called up by England. And that's expected, I wasn't surprised. However, the Nigerian option is still open until he kicks that ball in a competitive match for England. oya come fight me Famocious: |

TheGoodJoe: Egwuekwe also played exceptionally well in Congo. He had a nasty cut on the head but still dug in with his bandaged head. He was a big reason we won that game. People remember Aaron Samuel for scoring the winner but Egwuekwe was the main man. It leaves me quite sad when people call out players when they want to make a mundane comparison. On this thread, It has become a fun thing to name Uche Nwaofor in Keshi's shiit list. This same Uche Nwaofor was the top scorer for the John Obuh lead U20 team in 2011. This guy was so good that Venlo signed him up straight from Rangers. At Venlo, he formed a deadly strike partnership with Ahmed Musa which terrorised teams in Holland. On his Super Eagles debut, he scored a brace against South Africa. The second goal was a back heel which embarrassed Khunle! I find it a bit odd that he keeps making everyone's shiit list. 6 Likes 1 Share |

But wait oo, nobody wan answer me dis qstn, how would u av felt if Alampasu had dumped us for Togo during the last AFCON since he is of Togolese descent and we didn't make it to the Afcon? Also how would u feel if Alampasu won his first team spot tomorrow at Feirence and realises that his chances to rep naija in Russia would be slim, then suddenly, he decided to ditch Nigeria for Togo if Togo had qualified as well? He would be something next to or even worse than an ingrate and traitor before us abi? And our reason? *He was brought through the Nigerian system, Nigeria gave him and his family life else mayb dey would av bn dead of hunger somewhere in Togo (u know how we brag as per our oyel money), NFF invested so much on him etc. Do onto others as u would want them onto u. Tammy is the FA's investment not the NFF's. Allow them (FA) the reward of their Labour. As long as we want English bred stars we should remain content as the fall back options unless we have some Bentalabs (who kicked away the fortunes that comes from representing France, for his love for mother Algeria) in England. England will always be the shark and Nigeria the remora as far as Anglo-Nigerian players are concerned. We wll always feed from the scrubs (the akpans, Aluko, Ameobis) while they take the chunks Allis, Tammys. 3 Likes |

jotey:I don rest the matter. It's Tammy on the plate not Iwobi. Ain't gonna join issues with you on this point cos either way all men will stick with their opinions. The day Iwobi speaks to you or me expressly regarding the dynamics and nuances of his choice then that day the point will be settled. For now no need arguing on second hand information. Stick to your opinion. I'd stick to mine. |

tbaba1234: What is the standard? I doubt those you feel are the standard could pull off what Egwueke could do. He was quality. People just looked down on him because he was home-based. I also did until I watched him closely. |

ChrisKels: The answer is simple. We want those whose hearts are with us. If Alampasu's heart is with Togo, we do not want him. All the ingrate talk does not change that fact. If Alampasu wants to keep for us, then we want him. Finito. |

TheGoodJoe: So when Aluko made the commitment to play for Nigeria. How was he treated for all his undying patriotism. This problem is not about your definition of patriotism. But the very thing you wish to present as best is at the heart of the matter. I have been involved with NFF recruitment drives in the UK after one engagement I withdrew, the depth of depraved shameless corruption was too much for my palate to take. They really wanted desperate boys who with thier Nigerian patriotic agents were prepared to settle. Most of the quality English kids withdrew sometimes at the insistence of thier undiluted full blooded Nigerian parents. Tega situation is unique he is the number 1 young striker in the premiership. All eyes are on him, he can't win and either way he looses. Huge pressure was brought to bear on him. If he chose Nigeria the backlash would have been unprecedented in England I assure you. He rejects Nigeria the backlash has already started, he simply cannot win. I really believed be was going to choose Nigeria. I just didn't expect this degree of pressure on him. His profile has skyrocketed and Amaju should have been far more covert in his approach. 3 Likes 1 Share |

ChrisKels:we no dey find goal keeper, so if Alampasu chose to dump us for Togo, I wouldn't actually care. I didn't even care about Tammy until some people here decided to force him down our throats even after he denied us. I have never cared for these English boys, when Aina's own started, I no even talk. It is the useless hype we gave that alakoba that is paining me. 1 Like 1 Share |

komekn: Stop making baseless allegations. You did not see anyone bribing. We respect and love Aluko. I hope he gets his chance. That does not change the fact that the competition is high in the team. Declaring does not make anyone an automatic starter or get regular calls. We want those who want us. Whether they fear backlash or not. 4 Likes |

Bro abeg these guys are friends and as such have the right to congratulate each other. This is a big feat for Tammy no matter how Naija fans look at it. Humility017: 5 Likes |

Curtisaxel27:It's really not as easy as we think regarding the issue of talents except it is one that is exceptional. It requires a keen eye and expert observation to see true talent. I don't want us to miss out on that Beyreuther. Left back gives us problems. He should be taken now for the future. Is the bolded fact or just exaggeration to make the point cos I am not seeing this millions of above average Nigerian footballer SCATTERED across the world. This is your way of assuaging your supposed wounded national pride abi. You go to your neighbour house go play. He no allow you enter their house. Next thing you say mtcchhew my papa get millions of houses all over the world. Chai. We show interest, wahala. We no show interest wahala. Some will indicate interest, some will not. Don't make it a rule just as some are trying to make a rule that unless a player plays in top clubs or top leagues he gets no invitation to the national team. Strict application of such laws always creates injustice. The need to have the best should be our over-riding consideration regardless of indication of interest or not. You are dealing with a mosaic of individuals. Each one should be approached in its own way. And by the way those who indicate interest for us do have not been invited to play for us: Alaba, Otigba, Dessers, Senniger, Beyreuther. In boxing Anthony Joshua. So much for indication of interest. Finally you are welcome to this thread. Nice to read your thoughts. 1 Like |

Mujtahida: The problem is not the players but the nature of our engagement. I will be blunt NFF officials are linked to agents and the whole exercise is about SETTLEMENT. I am talking this mentality goes all the way to the top. You will be really baffled how high placed NFF individuals will be asking for settlement and that you sign with thier preferred agent's. If we had a sincere approach to engagement with a long term strategy. Creating links based on integrity and professionalism this problem will not exist. Did we have to wait for Tega to blow before we started to engage with him. I talk to a lot of Nigerian origin players and thier first preference is Nigeria 90% of the time. However, that first encounter with the NFF leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. All black players in England face differing degrees if racism. They may not talk about it publicly but we all know it. The idea of a first love for the Queen is simply rubbish. |
