but they said in your link that I clicked that Lagos,Osun, Delta and Akwa Ibom top the least and leading in the debt burden out of those states only Osun will not likely survive that debt. Osun is the next Kogi in the making and will go bankrupt in 2018. AkwaIbom is an oil producing state likewise Delta State. So there's a chance, Lagos might escape but you know Lagos is no man's land, you can't say Lagos is a yoruba land. 13 Likes |

NigerDeltan: You people better make your governors account for the amount they have already borrowed , so that they can borrow more to expand and diversify the economy of the region to attract investors and stem the brain drain afflicting the region. Your governments need money to address the huge infrastructural deficiencies of the region, and they can borrow responsibly to tackle this rather than waiting for FG to come and do everything for them, or screaming marginalization like a broken record. Abi una want make Erosion swallow up the entire region before you people begin to act?? 14 Likes 2 Shares |

intruxive: Leave them. These western countries are very smart people, sotay they cleverly gave themselves wide latitude in terms of credit access and privileges to raise the standard of their economies and societies. Fact is that Africans are left with only two options if they wanna develop -- they either partner with those that are willing to expend their private capital to build these critical infrastructures, or they obtain credit facilities to build them on their own. Either that or they will continue playing catch up compared to the rest of the world when it comes to development. And we are talking of tens of billions of dollars worth of infrastructure requirement per state if we are really serious. There's more to governance and administration than merely paying workers' salaries. America is more indebted than any other nation. Where do you think they are spending most of all that borrowed money?? On Infrastructure. The key thing is to spend the borrowed money responsibly, on projects that will have long-term economic benefits on the local economy. Money for development has to come from somewhere, and since a lot of states aren't collecting enough taxes to offset the low allocations, what options are they left with? Besides, some of these debts may end up being written off the books eventually anyway -- Didn't OBJ succeed in getting Naija creditors to wipe off her debt at a point in time? Na oyinbo people owe money pass, while we Africans dey do shakara dey turn down money that can solve a lot of our problems like say we holy pass. Yinmu. 12 Likes 1 Share |

Typical Afonja mindset and propaganda. They opened this thread because they were exposed in the thread below as fraud of a people. Every Nigerian knows that SE are the least indebted states, and rarely borrow from abroad and even locally as much as SW. OP just pulled these debt numbers out of his ewedu conekull. This is how you know the OP is a certified zombie and a bloody lying afonja, the link actually contradicts his post if you open and read it, the link and article was written as the title says to alarm Nigerians of the enormous debt profiles of Lagos and Osun with nothing to show. Typical afonja, that's what they are good at...twisting everything upside down to deceive gullible Nigerians. In the thread below, facts were laid out clearly to support that indeed that SW states are the most indebted and not only that have exceeded their borrowing limits both at home and abroad...fraudulent people, deceiving Nigerians with manufactured gigantic IGR that they are doing well yet facts say NO... YOU ARE A LIAR. They use Niger Delta oil allocation to service these huge debt Profiles and even to do the unthinkable; to pay salaries of civil servants because they manufacture nothing and neither service nothing...absolute ZEROSOME ECONOMY. These people are what we call Magnet Leeches...they won't leave their hosts until they have sucked every blood in you. https://www.nairaland.com/4084495/not-surprised-all-south-west 12 Likes 3 Shares |

Presidiotbuhari:There is so much in a name, ur middle monica fits u like skin. Aregbe did not use loan money to rebuild "private" homes. He used them to build schools, roads, hospitals and other world class projects that will remain for a very long time after loan is cleared. What will ur governors leave behind? And for the record brown roofs is a testimony that yorubas have been building with zink materials since ur ancestors were still living inside caves and mud houses with thatched roofs. Most of those buildings are pre colonial, they testify to how long we have come in civilization, but u guys have no history. Nothing to show u wr civilized b4 independence. this op no smart all. kwakwakwakwa Anambra with 20.6 billion is the least indebted state in this country and has a better local road network than all south west states except maybe lagos. Upon all south west debt the academic standards in that region have been on the decline if waec/neco results are anything to go by. SE investments in education are yielding fruits if the same waec/neco results are anything to go by... Does our former capital lagos have pipeborne water to even 10% of its residents after 16 years of democracy?? 9 Likes |

intruxive: Leave them. You know Aregbe is the reason why their people are fleeing their regions in droves to come and hawk gala in the SW . Aregbe is the reason why Abia roads are still an eyesore. Aregbe is the reason why they can't pull their resources as a region and build 2nd Niger bridge. In fact, Aregbe is the cause of the perennial erosion problem s afflicting their region. Obiano once lamented about the likelihood of erosion eating up at least half of Anambra. Perhaps Aregbe is to blame for that also. 10 Likes 1 Share

In as much as a lot of reasonable people dont do tribal threads and our collective fight is to the useless leaders.. It is very myopic of you not to notice that the SW states excluding lagos and kwara totalled approx N350b.. Including kwara and lagos its shoots over N1tr.. The useless APC governor of imo state has a major chunk of the gross debt of the SE with only 6 statues and a christmas tree as perfectly completed projects to account for.. 3 Likes |

Jonathan gave y'all water in osun after 40 years despite all the debt. The Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has commended the Federal Government for its huge efforts towards provision of potable water to the people of the state, in particular Ilesha town. Aregbesola added that Ilesha town had been without potable water for 40 years and so expressed great delight that the FG has come to the aid of the people. www.theeagleonline.com.ng/aregbesola-commends-fgs-ilesa-water-works-project/ 5 Likes |
