could also build a smaller nuclear reactor (like this reactor being developed by china, which is the size of a shipping container)tunnel under the mountain and hide it there http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3832725/World-s-smallest-nuclear-power-plant-China-developing-reactor-tiny-fit-shipping-container.html

there is no point hiding any nuclear reactor small or big

systems like WC-135 constant phoenix etc etc will sniff it out sooner or later

also if ur providing power to ur grid from a hidden rector , wont it raise questions as to from where the power is coming from someday eventually

also having a reactor is like 40% of the picture , u will need specialized nucl/ear material processing plants , recycle/ disposal plants , specialized handling equipment's and storage units ,steady supply of n/uclear fuel etc etc

plus u will need trained man power

how will u hide these ?

so sir u will get caught even before u begin grin grin grin

They won't let you complete the reactor before they hit it.

Israel did the same.

u might not know this that there was another country in line for the same treatment

even had all the air defence installations/systems plans and codes /freq. etc courtesy a very senior defence official of the target country

but unfortunately somebody/some country realized they had testicles the size of a peanut when the time came to carry out the plan tongue tongue tongue

even after america lifted its sanctions against sudan, their economy is still in sh@t,sanction no longer have much effect on those countries that are sanctioned.you may say you strong but i could easily plant seeds of discontent in some of your ethnic groups in Nigeria
Sanctions are meant to "limit", and they do just that

That is what am saying, when I mean strong I mean it in all ramifications and not just militarily

Is this you nemesis4u? Seeing I was conversing with you. Can't be, as Nem knows the difference between an MI-17 and a decrepit older-model MI-26 that Russia declared unfit to transport people.
Nem also knows the long history of nuclear in SA - 2 reactors at Koeberg have been producing 5% of our power(2015) for decades now - culminating in the 6 bombs we produced and then voluntarily dismantled. Hell, Nem would also know his PM Modi came here last year to lobby us to support India's bid to be a full member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group(NSG), which India's real rival, China, has been blocking.

the point of hiding it inside a mountain,is because there are no bunker buster bomb able to penetrate inside a mountain.the reactor is most part in the proccess of acquiring.others can easily be replaced e.g the Gas centrifuges

I'll assume you're referring to your exotic idea of a nuclear African power? Go on, Google how a nuke is made, build one and show us your superior thoughts.

first let me clarify any misunderstandings , my comments r not in anyway related to any countries nuclear power . it is not my place or interest to interfere in internal matters of any country . that privilege and the best authority is its citizens.

i am just having a conversation to provide another perspective to newafricans254 points

i hope any misgivings r clear now grin

now to the topic

sir ur thinking too straight

if u have a reactor deep inside a mountain ,it means u will need a network of access/service tunnels which will have a significant footprint .

these tunnel exit and entry points will be identifiable even if u employ the best measures to camouflage it

to disable ur reactor (even temporarily) i will use the bunker buster bombs to hit the sides/slopes of the mountains (few meters above) housing the exit and entry points. this will collapse all the identified tunnels thereby rendering the reactor ineffective , using thermobaric bombs will create even more havoc.

as for nuclear technology (weapon related) u can have it done either locally or externally but the question is 'at what cost' this is something which the concerned country can only decide , if she is willing then no cost is too great.

IMHO
We don't need to reinvent the wheel concerning small arms. I would love to see partnership with countries like Belarus & Serbia over ammunition production (this is more viable)

Pray, why not SA? Denel PMP sells to small arms ammo to NATO and over 70 countries, including Nigeria (ammo, grenades, mortars etc) Why not set up a factory in Nigeria?

Ignore the self-esteem brigade. Trust me, the very professional Nigerian military officers with whom I interact do likewise.
Ignorant of what exactly? That SA is self-sufficient in most basic defence requirements (and wishes more African countries were), or the level of defence trade between our countries?
I'll presume it's the latter: Denel has tried for years to partner with Dicon and other credible Nigerian entities. As lucrative as the market is, Denel will not infringe SA and Nigerian law.

For example: your acquisition of the REVA APCs; is there any evidence of a Nigerian govt tender that called for bids from the open market for the vehicle type? I'm a huge fan of ICP and their products but in SA that entire contract would be voided.

The client is directly in control of that. And were Denel to participate in such, our independent Office of the Auditor-General would raise a stink. Much like our independent Tax Collecter (SARS) raised a stink when un-declared cash was found on an Israeli middleman's jet intended for Nigerian arms in contravention of various of various of our laws.

Not practical, bio-weapons are the best option for an African country, less time, just as-effective detterance.

yes that. Including the stinking politics. I mentioned those countries because they naturally won't set alarm bells ringing in the head of some diplomat(s)/Old donkeys in Abuja.

I think last year or the one before it, there was some joyful noise about collaboration with SA defence firms. But look at us singing the same song on a different note

Ah the orphaned cash, old wound sad story grin
