Children adapt easily. Our bones don strong for naija weather. Even our tongues don strong for our naija accent.[qquote author=vcole post=62021477]#lifeinthenorth lol! My toddler seems immune to cold. I had to spend 30 mins in a snow ball fight after daycare today.[/quote] 12 Likes |

toyogirl:Springs starts in march but the temperature is still going to be in the negatives and low single digits. There would be occasional snowfall too. It really starts feeling like spring towards the end of April and early May. Summer would be here again faster than you can say jack robinson.lol 2 Likes |

Hello everyone! I know someone asked earlier about contacts for cargo (from Abuja/Lagos to locations in Canada), but I am not sure if any recommendations were given... Can someone please help with this? |

Feygbe: Good morning. It really depends on which area in biochemistry. I just did a search on google/indeed and found quite a number of job openings for those with a degree in Biochemistry. You can can check this link out https://ca.indeed.com/Biochemistry-jobs-in-Ottawa,-ON For the second question, it is neither easy nor hard. It is just about looking out for opportunities. Information flight here is quite high. You will need to build your network, put the word out there and wait for possible outcomes. You might also want to attend the new comers programme they have for new PRs, as this also gives you the chance to get prepared (and in most cases help with job search too). For living condition, Ottawa is not bad sha (speaking from a student's point of view). In terms of food, there are grocery stores where you can get stuffs very very cheap(you just have to look for them). I have been to a store here too where they sell almost every Nigerian foodstuffs. In terms of housing, Ottawa can be quite pricey although depending on the type of house. Most peeps leave in Gatineau axis which has affordable housing. While some go towards Kanata (but this place use style far sha, although depending on your work location). The good news is there is a good bus network, so you can always get home. If you intend buying a car, that is good too. Thanks to @Maternal suggestion (to check Gatineau for housing), my friends and I found a fully furnished 3 BR House with basement at Gatineau for CAD1599/month (15 mins to Ottawa by bus). But it all depends on how far you willing to compromise(i.e distance to price). I hope this is helpful. 21 Likes 5 Shares |

Good Morning House, I am a silent observer of this thread. I am due to Land in Toronto in December like a couple of guys here. Special S/O to ballerz, Salford, Mrs O and TheCongo y’all have been overwhelmingly helpful and I can’t state that enough. Please I have a couple of questions!!! My Naija License expired and I just renewed it but I only have the temporary one and I doubt if the permanent one will be ready before I leave. Will I be able to use the temporary one to start processing my DL over there. |

Why not apply for your certificate of good driving record before you leave. It will take about 5 working days to have it. I advise you travel with that also. Don't worry about the permanent card, it would not be ready. Ayoboy1: 1 Like 1 Share |
