it is nothing. Lots of nigeria who never visited even togo self can buy a full street in texas. It is slave mentality that makes you think a visa is tied to your success in life.

When I went back to read through the previous quotes. Something caught my attention. It was like I never saw it before. @thebosstrevor said something about people making delivery for amazon. As if it’s a low life job for Africans and Asians that dominate the job trying to start a good life for themselves. If only he knew that they are being paid $18(for package delivery) and $20( for fresh produce and food delivery) an hour. He would not downplay them like that. Some have done the job getting themselves through college.

We need to ask him how many streets Dangote has bought in Nigeria? Like he does not have better things to do with his money. He dey talk of Texas and Nigerians that don’t have 10% of Dangotes wealth.

that is a low wage job nobody has done the job and still be in college full time you seems you do not understand how low is the job to survive and pay college tuition that is why you will need student loan

college is very hard when working.if you wanna have good grade you need to give your 100% to college.

Chai! This guy can argue...as if there are no Nigerians here slipping burgers at McDonald’s and working at Walmart for $10 per hour and they are still going to school all together. Loan or no loan. The fact still remains that they school and work pari passu. School daytime, work evening time. Unless you have enough financial support. That’s how some do it. Is this something new? No.

shut up your mouth you dotard. You think everybody is as lazy as you. Only lazy and frustrated people see traveling as an option. On every single street in Nigeria we have millionaires and multi millionaires. People doing petty businesses are building their houses. Typical brainwashed diaporans with their favorite people are suffering in nigeria when each day thousands of millionaires are pumping up

They talk like college is the end of it. College graduates will need to keep working into their 70's to even get close to the lies and illusions of the so called american dream

Goldenboy007:
"He who has not been to other people's farm would always boast that his father's farm is the biggest

There was once an old giraffe and an old pig living in a farm yard. The pig told all the other animals that the farmland is all that there is in the world. He said there are no other places you can go beyond the farmland. However the giraffe tells a different story - he said there is a world out there beyond the farmland, a big beautiful world bigger than the farmland.
The truth is - these two animals are correct in their own right. The pig has short legs so he can't see beyond his height and the farmland, so he can only pass on what he knows. However the giraffe has long legs and neck - he is taller than all the structures in the farmland so he can see beyond the farmland into the beautiful horizon.

We all tell our stories from our little perspective - but you will be doing yourself a great injustice if you think the world is restricted to only what you know.

If you sit in your little world in Nigeria and talk about other countries then you are the most ignorant buffoon - ( I am not insulting the OP, it's a general statement). If you have been denied a visa - find out why and improve your chances or try other countries - see the rest of the world and how they live, stop being a local champion spreading myopic tales.

All countries have their challenges but to compare the average economic life in US to that in Nigeria? It is not every Nigerian immigrants that are doing menial jobs, also some are doing menial but doing great!!!
Some people earn $15 an hour in US and live better quality family life than a bank manager in Nigeria - wisdom is key. I am not the average American but I have more than $10,000 in my account and so are many hard working Nigerian immigrants.
In summary - with reference to the story of the pig and giraffe - you can only talk about what you know. - if the only American Nigerians you have met are the hustlers with nothing to show - then you need to change your circle of influence.
forget pig story. You are actually describing most nigerians living in america. They are the pig in a deep hole in this your story. Come to Ajah and see young igbo traders under 40yrs buying a house for 40million cash. No week we dont see a new buyer. Come and see real estate lawyers cashing out millions as percentage you can only dream about. Come and see young civil engineer contractors making millions monthly and you will regret ever leaving this country blessed with all that life has to offer. You guys didnt see that part of Nigeria hence your rush to america. It is never too late to pack your luggages and head back to the land of millionaires and achievers

True ... if u go to Yankee illegally you'll get a menial job which the pay would be shitty ..but with that shitty pay you'll pay all the bills and be left with mere nothing... it's not how long you can endure and make good use of that "mere nothing" till it becomes something for to get what you need and move on in life over there ...
people don't relocate cos of financial stuffs .. they relocate cos it's a system that works ..
All I've been reading is mostly bout "how much u get for bank " bla bla bla ..

A menial job in Yankee will pay your bills and put shelter on ur head comfortable ...
Meanwhile a teller job in Nigeria will not do all that

You're comparing people at top management in Nigeria to a menial job in Yankee ..unreasonable!!

During my masters in U.K. .. I was a car park attendant for a year , I earned £1200 a month
Accommodation: £400
Transport for a month £80
Food for a month £60
Gas and elec for a month £120
End of I still have £500 in my pocket for that month to do whatever I like ..

Can u be a car park attendant in Nigeria and do all that ?

Don't be naive with this topic .. yes menial jobs are stressful and hard .. no one said it isn't and the pay is frustrating cos of the labor involved but end of youre working for a system that works ..
If anyone wants to relocate anyhow , be ready to endure for nothing less than a year ..if you're not lazy you'll get on your feet , if you're lazy .. GOODLUCK ..
If u don't want to relocate, enjoy Naija and keep the country going the way u like

Yes you can. There are gate men, house helps, mechanics and others on menial jobs who have families here and they are thriving fine. One can plan life anywhere as long as income is coming. Haven't you heard of cleaners in Nigeria even petty traders that trained graduates?

Define "thriving fine amongst people that are doing menial jobs in Naija" ...
Most average earners are even scared when it's times to pay school tuition for their kids ..

I don't see it as thriving fine when a mechanic struggles to build a one bedroom bungalow in a dilapidated area in Ifo for his wife and kids to live in while he goes to ipaja for a week to work ...
His family is def not feeding well , the school is thrash , the environment is dirty , no treats for the kids , no park walk , don't even let's talk bout electricity in such remote areas ...
That's struggling in a system that's not working ...

U guys r talking abt ibo boys building houses in Ajah fine it's a good thing but what is the percentage to people feeding from hand to mouth? 60% Nigerians r jobless, u say a menial Job in Nigeria can strive fine my brother na lie.. Tell me one menial job in Nigeria that's pays above 30k per month. Some spend 500h on tfair per day, pay 5k for a room apartment per month, feeding can't even be accounted not to talk of paying school fee, if u r living fine don't think others are, people are suffering and dying in Nigeria take it or leave it
