currentprice: My dear brother, thanks for your selflessness on this forum. I tend to imagine that it is mainly foreign investors that drive our market out of BEAR terrain. Do you think foreign investors can put their money into Ucap and Afriprud? I am sincerely asking to know, as a grateful learner. Thanks 1 Like |

stokfrick: don't know how to forcast bank future dividend, but you can share Agba opinion as quoted below. all i know is fidelity is seriously cheap at currentprice base on their Q3. if you have it,, i expect u to think of other good stock to add. fidelity is a done deal except we have a very bad Q4 which i doubt because half year already audit Agbalowomeri: fidelity fairprice is far far better relative to currentprice compare to all other bank but i don;t want to post what i think is the fairprice Lol....fidelity can drag for Africa 1 Like |

The Nigerian bourse started the week on a negative note, as the NSEASI declined marginally by 0.02%, pressuring the YtD return down to 37.42% at the close of trades. Similarly market value declined by 21.17%, while the volume of transactions advanced by 29.21%. Market breadth closed at 1.21x with twenty three (23) gainers and nineteen (19) losers. v DIAMONDBNK led the gainers’ chart, after gaining 9.43% to close at NGN1.16. Other counters on the gainers’ chart were UCAP (+6.96%), LEARNAFRCA (+5.00%), FIDELITYBK (+5.00%) and UAC-PROP (+4.95%). On the flip side, CHAMPION topped the losers’ chart, shedding 4.92% to close at NGN2.32. TOTAL (-4.66%), AIRSERVICE (-4.35%), LAWUNION (-4.23%) and HONYFLOUR (-4.11%) also featured on the losers’ chart. v The sector performance as measured by the NSE-sector index revealed that the NSEBNK10 (+0.19%) and the NSEIND (+0.003%) advanced, while the NSEINS10, NSEOILG5 and NSEFBT10 declined by 0.80%. 0.65% and 0.20% respectively. v Despite the buy pressures witnessed on a lot of counters in the day, as revealed by the market breadth of 1.21x, bearish sentiments prevailed in the Nigerian stock market at the end of the day. We attribute the negative close at the start of the week to sell pressures on the market heavyweights. Given that most of these stocks are trading at historical high levels, we expect further sell pressures in the week. |

Brent finally breaches $64 and outlook still remains bullish... $70 oil knocking? https://markets.ft.com/data/commodities/tearsheet/summary?c=Brent+Crude+Oil - Saudi power game as MBS consolidates his grip.. - OPEC meeting looming with strong pointers towards output cut being extended all through 2018... Putin body language in support and Aramco $100bilion IPO guarantees Saudi support. - Global Inventory overhang draining fast thus tightening the oil Markets - Crude Oil price curve now in backwardation as the long- standing Contango now flipped. - Venezuela's technical Bond default and effect on supply outages - Kurdish independence issues and almost 600,000 barrels under shut down risk So so many positives to drive Crude to $70. Question is how does US Shale producers react to very attractive and profitable $70 by pumping more to upset supply balance.. But with recent drop in US rig count near term Shale surge not imminent All looking good for Naija.. Foreign Reserve accretion, firepower for Emefiele.. possible marginal Naira appreciation NSE surely to see very good times.. 1 Like |

fidelity is a stock to watch among the tier 2 banks. I concur with sir Agba as regards the 25k dividend for financial year 2017. fidelity also has a high outstanding shares so I don't know if it will get to probably 3 naira in the medium term. A stock like fcmb with similar result will probably get to 3.50 in the medium term. |

oil price is trending towards the 70 dollar mark which is good for the Nigerian economy and should be good for the stock market as well. But my issue is with the upcoming elections in 2019. Anytime there is election around the corner, the Nigerian stock market is negatively affected. Do you think there will be a lengthy bull run in 2018 considering the forthcoming elections in 2019? House, your opinion is needed! |

Please I want to be educated more on the workings of the stock exchange. I have been following proceedings on this thread but hardly understand the rudiments of it and how to detect a good, prospective stock. In veiw of the above, 1. what is market capitalization 2. What is available supply 3. What is total supply 4. What is Trade volume or simply put Volume. How do they relate to the health of a particular stock. |
