Joebie: Lol, different tone.. So he should not like Tammy's update? Playing international football is a big deal. By the way, Ejaria commited himself to a Nigeria future years ago. Even though, he had the choice of England. Since then, he has played for the English under 20. I follow most of the English Nigerian boys on social media and Ejaria is one of the few that consistently follows Nigerian football. He was allowed to train with Manu's under 17. Did Otigba not reject a call-up for Nigeria? Have you called him since? Players with dual citizenship will usually go to the country that shows interest first. Building a relatioship is important but footballers have to look out for their careers too. 1 Like |

okay good. Declaration is only good for the papers.. But that's not how civilized people do things. Those players were asked by journalists and they answered. So it made it's way to the media. It's not like they called a press conference or something lol. The Mujtahida: |

Guys, can we just leave the technical decisions to the guys who are paid to make those decisions. Here's why: 1. Gernot Rohr played the game at a higher level than any one of us here 2. Gernot Rohr had coached the game at a higher than anyone of us 3. I stand corrected but Rohr and his crew can read the game better than everyone of us here 4. Gernot Rohr knows these players better than everyone of us because he trains them and have watched them up, close, and personal. O pari MetalJigsaw: 2 Likes |

Some may like Nigeria more. But considering our image, MOST like the other country more. If I asked you today to play for India will you agree? Hungry na country for football? Besides there is no guarantee Otigba will turn down another interest from Hungary. tbaba1234: |

Big Joe, that's a very good point @the highlighted. In addition, success has many friends. Once we start playing well again, you'd see playing getting interested in playing for Nigeria. O pari Joebie: |

Icon79:Bros, travelling is great ooo. Do you know that among the nobility then in Europe a man wasn't considered educated unless he had travelled to at least four countries in Europe and could speak and write at least two or three continental languages as well as being able to play at least one musical instrument and be adept at using arms? Why? So that a man's vision and perspective would be broad and rich. Your experience out of your journeyings has given you an understanding of this matter. 7 Likes 1 Share |

@The highlighted. I use that assertion to put some of my American friends in their place ... especially those of them who think that Africa is a country And I often remind them that America is the only developed country where the citizens mostly speak one language only. An average Euro kid speaks at least 4 different languages. Anyway, I just want you to know that I agree with you 101% O pari Mujtahida: |

tbaba1234: That is what I am saying that we don't need such a play. We expect to be under pressure for the most of the world cup as we are considered among the under dogs. We need players that can hold their own irrespective of the nature of the opposition. If John Ogu cannot perform when under pressure sorry we don't need him in the world cup. There may not be more than one opponent that we will dominate in terms of play all through our campaign. We expect to face oppositions that will put our midfield and defense to serious test. We need players that can still give their performance even under pressure 1 Like |

Joebie: Hungary is not a bad footballing nation. They were at the last Euros and qualified for the round of 16. Otigba could have been playing in the Euros. If Hungary calls Otigba today, it is in his best interest to accept. 1 Like |

Mujtahida:They should have reached out to the Nbbf. Nigeria's basketball policy actually favoured Nigerians in diaspora for obvious reasons. In the championship winning class of 2015, Stanley Gumut was the only home grown player we had in the team. Since Giannis was already playing for Greece, why aren't his brothers considering Nigeria? His kid brother while still in high school declared for Greece. I don't know if I can find a link to this. If I can, I will post it. 2 Likes |

Even Uganda is not a bad footballing nation. We are making comparisons here.. Talking about the last Euros does not remove from my point. My point is these players are attached to both countries and they will make decisions based on what will suit their interest not patriotism. Patriotism is overplayed here. We can believe what we want so long as it makes us happy. tbaba1234: |

Joebie: Your first analogy was with India who have not qualified for anything. As in the case of Otigba, it is probably best for them to look out for their best career interests as patrotism could make them miss out of international football. Idowu is having to give up the Russian passport to play for Nigeria. Do you know how difficult that is?? |
