What Nigerian Girls Really Want by SmartyPants(m): 12:30pm On Nov 07, 2017 |
Hello gentlemen and ladies! Women in the workplace are kinda funny. My male subordinates are very respectful and quiet but the female ones are too chummy and when you have to reprimand them they get emotional. Right now there is this one that is squeezing her face cauz I was a bit harsh on her yesterday. So me too I’m squeezing my face at her for today, but I’ll make sure I play with her tomorrow. *sigh* so tedious. Lol. Anyway I’m taking a break off work to share some observations with you. Over and over, I have heard people, particularly guys, say, all Nigerian girls want is money but in my experience and from observation, this is not quite true. The more accurate assertion is, some Nigerian girls from a certain background prioritize money, and to be fair that is not inherently a bad thing: everyone is entitled to want what they want, and you don’t need to resent them just because you don’t have what they want. The key is, find the person who fits your philosophy and status in life, and I’m going to help you do that by pointing out to you how you might identify what different classes of girls are more interested in. NB: I am going to be making some generalizations here so you may probably know one or two girls who do not fit the mold: that doesn’t mean my general observations are untrue. To start with, traditionally, all of society can be divided into two broad categories further broken down into 6 narrow classes: The have-nots 1. Lower-lower class: the poorest of the poor living in extreme deprivation Lower-lower class girls are usually very materialistic in their selection because they see a man as a hero coming to sweep them out of a life of misery. If you are not prepared to spend, avoid these ones. However, if you are prepared to spend you will find that she will genuinely love you and work hard to keep your home. As a broke guy, this type of girl may easily fall for your personality, but have it at the back of your mind that she may easily cheat on you for money. What she really wants: A happy, comfortable life 2. Upper-lower class: not deprived of life’s basics but not enjoying any special comforts Girls in this class have grown up watching their parents struggle to provide things for them. They are also materialistic but they also tend to appreciate the value of hard work, as often they’ve often had to join their parents to work at the shop, farm, etc. These girls are the ones who study very hard at school, and are career oriented. You can expect a girl in this class to work hard to take care of her own needs, but she also won’t settle for a man who is not more well-off than she is. What she really wants: material comfort 3. Lower-middle class: getting by with some comfort but no luxury This class of girl is just there. She is not particularly motivated by money since she may have often spent a lot more time around people in the lower class, and may be used to them looking up to her. She belongs to the highest class of the have-nots, and does not have that sense of deprivation. These are girls who easily fall for dreamers, and will happily tell you “money isn’t everything”. What she really wants: a happy family The haves 4. Upper-middle class: comfortable with a few luxuries Upper middle class girls, unlike lower middle class girls, tend to spend a lot of time around richer friends and tend to feel deprived even though they actually live comfortably. They resent not being able to join in the conversation when their friends are talking about all the different places they visited, and may secretly resent their father’s for not being richer. These girls, surprisingly are the most materialistic of all, and when guys complain that girls are only interested in money, it is usually because they are chasing upper middle class ladies. What she really wants: to undo the trauma of deprivation 5. Lower-upper class: luxurious life with some limitations These girls are rich and they aren’t looking for a man to give them money, however it may appear that they are materialistic on the surface. This is because a lot of girls in this class tend to be bitchy and competitive, they want a man to show off, and are easily attracted to status symbols. To be with a girl like this, you must be either the cutest, richest, most popular, most notorious… etc. some of these girls actually pay for dates and shopping outings with their boyfriends, but pretend to others like “bae” paid for it all. What she really wants: Status 6. Upper-upper class: absolute luxury These girls tend to live in a fantasy world, and they really believe in true love, however they only date superstars and fellow members of the elite. They are not materialistic but they hardly date broke guys simply because they hardly mingle with “commoners”, and mommy probably would have a fit if she brings a broke guy home. What she really wants: Romance and fantasy NB: people move between classes so don’t evaluate a girl by the class she is in today, evaluate her by the class her family was in during her formative years. The attitude she picked up then will likely stay with her for life. 11 Likes 5 Shares |

Re: What Nigerian Girls Really Want by LordKO(m): 2:26pm On Nov 07, 2017 |
Being materialistic has nothing to do with one's economic background or class instead it has everything to do with one's innate possession of either one or all of these negative attributes (not necessarily attitude); greediness, covetousness and self-centeredness. And one's need for economic advancement has nothing to do with materialism too, so long as its pursuit is on principle rather than expediency - if you understand that there's a difference between opportunity and opportunism then you will understand and agree to my submission. Meanwhile, there's a clear difference between attribute and attitude. While the former is innate and unmalleable the latter is acquired and malleable and can be faked. 6 Likes 1 Share |

I liked the ending. It made the write up logical. Now that's one hell of a conclusion. Good observations. 2 Likes 1 Share |

PrincessNazor: I agree, there are always exceptions... but i think in general if you think deeply about how must people behave you will find that they may likely fall into these classes 1 Like |

LordKO: Ones socio-economic background has a powerful influence on one's attitude and behavior. This is not even just my opinion, it is an established principle of psychology. Psychologists only disagree as to what extend the influence counts. People are not born with traits such as greed or covetousness, these are traits that are developed due to influence, and one of the most powerful influencers are environmental influencers such as socio-economic background. Also the need for economic advancement is materialism, when the means of such advancement is through a sexual/romantic partner. Finally when you say there is a clear difference between opportunity and opportunism, in first place the two cannot even be compared because they mean vastly different things. I dont even understand what point you are trying to make here. Opportunity is a thing, opportunism is a parasitic attitude towards opportunities; based on this, what exactly is your point? Perhaps you mean to say there is a difference between pursuing an opportunity and being opportunistic... but how does that relate to my point? 4 Likes 2 Shares |

SmartyPants: No apologies, I can't dialogue with someone that doesn't know the difference between attitude and attribute as your overall counter submission in particular and OP in general suggested. More so, your first paragraph in particular in this counter post says a lot about your myopia on the subject under discussion - I careless about the fact that you created the thread. Peace out! 4 Likes |

Re: What Nigerian Girls Really Want by SmartyPants(m): 3:49pm On Nov 07, 2017 |
TheManofTomorrow: To butress my point i have been in all sorts of relationships personally. I have been with girls that other guys were pestering and i never spent a dime on them, instead they were the ones using their money to cook for me and stuff. In fact my female friend jokingly told me recently that if she was not with her current guy she would be rich, because of the kinds of guys chasing her. I've met girls from well-to-do homes, dating broke guys. I know of broke guys who are being financed by their girlfriends (ordinary fine, young girls not even sugar mommies) I had a lady classmate from a rich home who married a guy with zero-account balance on the day of the wedding. The guy himself confided in me that he was not financially buoyant at all at the time. Lose that attitude that it is all about money with women because it is not. 4 Likes 1 Share |

TheManofTomorrow: Come on mate, its basic stuff. Lets say i love football and i love basketball but i already have a football at home. If you give me enough money to buy either one more football or one basketball, which do you think i would prioritize? A basketball obviously. But this does not change the fact that i love football. 1 Like |

SmartyPants: LOL! So you don't know that when you end a post with a question mark it automatically means that you're prepared for dialogue. There's always room for improvement, so eschew conceit and learn where and when necessary. No one person has monopoly of wisdom. I didn't counter your OP to spite you, no, my contribution was purely educational. No hard feelings OK. 2 Likes |
Re: What Nigerian Girls Really Want by TheManofTomorrow(m): 3:57pm On Nov 07, 2017 |
SmartyPants:So what you are saying now is that there will be no time in their married life where the girl will insult the guy because he can't take care of her. That's if they are true anyways. Most of this self acclaimed well to do girls will only date U of they see strong potential of you getting rich in the shortest time possible. They will ditch you immediately if they see you have exceeded their ultimatum in and outside marriage. Believe me I have had personal contact with most of these rich girls. Its not a must you agree with me.. Looks and intelligent can only take u so far. Use obasanjo as a case study 1 Like |

SmartyPants:A lie. U can't love them equally. Let's say you love to buy another car and you also love to buy indomie and you already have 3cars at home. U will obviously go for the indomie shey. |

LordKO: Funnily you are the only person that has taken offence at all. I replied you on an intellectual level and you went off on a bizarre rant... This thread is merely my opinion, based on my observations and experiences, like i said in the OP. Any and everyone is free to disagree without stress. 1 Like |
