Another avenue for ICT illiterates to castigate what they do not know about. So the equivalent of $2m was spent on an integrated portal? Should I head into the streets to protest that it should have been procured for N200k ?
Above is the only snag there. Are there enough competent people to manage such complex IT solutions or will extra funds be spent to procure the services of the likes of Accenture to manage it on their behalf? 9 Likes 2 Shares |
Re: Ministry Of Mines And Steel Spends N700 Million To Develop Portal by Throwback: 5:52am On Nov 10, 2017 |
ivandragon: Illiterates should only speak on basic topics that can be argued at a beer parlour. Spending $2m on a portal depending on what the complexities of it are and what level of integrated database is required, is not a child's play. The ministry has itself revealed this information freely to the public, to prevent the likes of you from making a mockery of serious business initiatives as some scandal that has been exposed. 5 Likes 3 Shares |

Throwback: keep quite & stop being an ignoramus... have you visited the website to see if it justifies that amount? have you forgotten that there was an uproar when this amount was said to have been budgeted for website in 2016? so why won't it boldly come out to say so when it had been padded ab initio... same way the $25b NNPC will be defended by the likes of you when they tell Nigerians that they have executed $25b in thin air... you just keep jumping up & down to defend rubbish simply because it is your preferred thieves doing the looting... 104 Likes 8 Shares |

ivandragon: You are still not tired of this your imagined $25b that is missing at NNPC ? Yet when asked to mention any stakeholder who claimed such funds are missing, or that ghost contracts were awarded, you suddenly go dumb? The case of contracts erroneously totalled to the sum of $25b, has already been addressed by NNPC over the charge of not following due process. A due process they have maintained did not require the approval of the stakeholder who made the charge, but who never alleged that money was missing or that the contracts were phantom and did not exist. You do not always have to be a blind critic of government. Criticize as if you have a brain for Christ sake. 11 Likes 3 Shares |

Nbote: I do not see any problem with spending money to develop another revenue generating sector of our economy. Must we always criticise every money spent, even when spent appropriately and to generate more income? I have already highlighted the need for trained experts that the ministry has already alluded to. 1 Like |

Ibe cleared stated it that the contracts didn't pass through due process where paddings & other fraudulent acts could have been checked & filtered out. the person that signed it, if true, doesn't know jack about technicalities involved. & if he truly did sign, where are the documents to back it up? back to the topic jare... have you even gone to check out the website? do you know that some of the links lead nowhere? you just keep talking out of your ass... 41 Likes 2 Shares |

ivandragon: And for Ibe, due process was to be through him as Chairman of NNPC board? And NNPC has come out with enough facts to show that the NNPC tenders board, Minister or Petroleum and FEC are all that was required to constitute Due Process as it is currently existing. Ibe Kachikwu is not the minister of petroluem but junior minister, while Buhari is the minister. Ibe Kachikwu is not the head of the NNPC tenders board but head of NNPC board. Ibe Kachikwu was present in the FEC meetings as a junior minister when these contracts were presented. So what else do you have to say? Ibe Kachikwu has also come out to clarify matters for unrepentant and aimless critics like yourself, that he did not allege that money was missing or that the contracts did not truly exist. Him and Baru have since moved on over their misunderstanding, with both sides of the debate agreeing to differ. While sane observers like us have urged Buhari to surrender the full minister portfolio to Ibe Kachikwu to prevent such re-occurence of allegations of breech in due processes and possible loopholes that Kachikwu has identified in the current process which still remains legal. As for the website, even the reports already mentioned that experts are required to manage it. So you should already know it is yet to be operational. It is there already for you to understand without the need of your tasteless and aimless attempt to mockery. 2 Likes |

BeeBeeOoh: You remind me of a dude who I schooled with and served NYSC with. While discussing our career plans as engineers and what potential jobs were available for fresh graduates like us, I told him assertively that I couldn't settle for a job pay less than N500k/month. He looked at me with such disgust, wondering why a fresh graduate should feel so entitled to such pay he found outrageous. He contended that N100k/month was good enough. Less than a year after service, he got his own N100k/month job while I got myself a N1m/month type of job. I still wasn't contented and aspired for something better, while my pal is still today aspiring towards a pay windfall of N500k/month. This same category of people wonder why I would spend N45K on a Lacoste polo shirt or N60k on a Tommy Hilfiger jeans. When you can buy same at Balogun market in Isale Eko for less than N5k each. The above true story is the mentality in display when people wonder why one website is N2m and another is N500m or more. Lack of exposure! 1 Like |

Nbote: The purpose of the website is to address some of the problems that has made that ministry moribund. There was once a story about Philip Emeagwali approaching the Abacha government in the 1990's, for an investment of $5b to develop ICT as a viable sector of the Nigerian economy. The funds were not granted because we were ignorant and also found the sum outrageous. If such funds could have made Nigeria like India or Singapore or Malaysia or Hong Kong as regards ICT, do you think such funds would not have been money well spent at that time? In retrospect, was it not a foolish decision not seeing the perspective of Emeagwali? 3 Likes |

some people prefer Nigeria to remain stagnated as long as their preferred thieves have the right of way... to move forward, we must question irrational decisions of our leaders at all times, regardless of who is in power at any point in time... only then is objectivity achieved & we are able to really define what we want & the direction we need to go as a country... but of course, there will always be nitwits who want to draw us back 10 Likes 2 Shares |

ivandragon: An aimless critic like you would still have found fault if it was a N5m portal. You would have claimed Bayo also builds website for N500K. People like you are stuck in the mud till the high tide overcome you. You belong to the Huawei and CCECC mentality. Some of us belong to the Ericsson and Cappa & D'Alberto mentality. So when matters like these are discussed, it is no surprise what side of the divide we align with. 3 Likes 1 Share |
