I disagree, we did not deserve to lose.. The only chances for Algeria were slip-ups from Ezenwa
Thank you jarry, the Algerians were way poorer than we were.

Nwakaeme impressed me with his hard work. Especially when he switched roles to play on the side. His tracking back was good and he put in work to help the defence.

Onyekuru showed confidence and nice touches. Sad the pitch did not allow us see the pace our forwards could bring. Algerians looked better and I suspect it has to do with the studs. This should be a lesson for us spending long time away from the venue.

Phenomenal. That one is not even a debate. From the first to second half, Ogu was the most consistent player behind Brahimi. From the start of the game, he stood out and he is clearly the best defensive midfielder I have seen in years play for the Super Eagles when it concerns all round play.

Am sure you will do better than Rohr. When some of you criticise, you do it so blindly that it looks like you have a personal score to settle with the coach. Give this man some credit. This is the first time in a long while that we qualified without calculator and here with a game to spare, Algeria needed a dubious referee assisted penalty to draw at their own backyard against our second team. What were you expecting?, that we go there and whitewash them?... Na we buy boot for dem?

Some of you guys here with negative words, criticism, and "never see good in Rohr" are a suspect. I believe that besides our team's success, you guys might have an ulterior motives.

I mean how else do one explain the name calling and demeaning remarks on this match and on our players.?.. In the viewing center where I just watched this game, applause and praises were all the players received only to come online to read this rubbish!

I am beginning to think that many of you are kids who knows nothing about our history in football or better still you guys are all foreign based Nigerians who are just beginning to show interest in our football.

That should be the only reason why you guys throw new players at the coaching crew upandan and making weird statements calling it tactics.

From time immemorial, apart from westerhof. Rohr is the only foreigner doing something great about the Super Eagles, heck it took almighty westerhof 4 years to do what Rohr is doing for us under a year. And the best you lots can do is to criticise, insult and demean his ability, capability and achievements so far.

I don't blame you, you all probably won't be saying this had we been stucked at the bottom of this group, to which the worst you would have done is to sack him.

Armchair coach is what I call you all, and not until you guys take up a coaching job, it remains so.

Honestly it is nauseating reading many negative comments here. Just imagine you wishing us to lose, you have been saying it since last month. And since we didn't lose today, instead of running home with your tail in between your legs, you are making a lame attempt at being a contempt.

If you can't support this team positively, abeg maintain your Lane.

SMH!
Honestly we have too many immature folks on nairaland and is worrying, Rohr that took the risk of coaching the eagles where other coaches were scared. na wa o

Atleast you agree that the game was poor, seems like saying the truth is a crime in Nigeria, once we become succesful we stop trying to improve and we end up stagnating till others catch up, poor poor stupid native African mentality

Impossible. Did you see how many times Balogun had to drift to the left side of the pitch to prevent attacks from the flanks? Some of the aerial balls he won. The work of covering the central defence and the sides repeatedly puts Balogun ahead.

Pitch to blame for the faulty passes from Iwobi. On one occasion, Iwobi did not actually pass the ball but the ball hit a contour on the field. It bounce and hit his shin.

By the way, he made brilliant moves on the right to describe his play as that of a headless chicken.

which match was that? I have already pointed out that Balogun is the type of guy that wants to attack a winger, drifting to the leftside is his style of play and he wasn't great at it today but please, don't let me spoil your assumption that Balogun was good today, infact everybody was good even Nwakaeme and Iheanacho

I dont think Iwobi did well today, but he didnt do badly, i didnt forgive him when he spoilt the chance we had on score, didnt know how a caliber of player like him cldnt cross that ball with his stronger foot, even iheanacho crossed better today with his right.

Ekong can not do it. Simple. Balogun put in a lot of work to keep us stable at the back. Ekong was tidy. There is no way you say the person staying at a place to do a tidy work than someone who is going the extra miles to keep the team up.

Balogun won balls on the side too. His job is not to take on pacy wingers but he did it to provide balance. Which deserves a thumbs up and not thumbs down.

Bros it is not by who fes come.

Rohr simply does not have confidence in that Ehuehi guy. Is it not so obvious? BTW you don't throw too many newbies into the defense at once. Starting Aina is one risk for the CBs and DM to cope with. So bringing in Ebuehi too is not ideal.
No, the point is let's stop inviting him abeg. When you don't have confidence in a player what's the player doing in your squad, taking up good space and wasting it.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon79(m): 11:40pm On Nov 10, 2017
Yea, the biggest discovery today is that we now have a decent LB. I will scream blue murder if Echiejile ever starts ahead of Aina again.
I think the team is gradually getting set. We still need a true top striker along with another playmaker besides Mikel.

O pari

solonnachi:

I know Ekong covered up for Balogun no thanks to his injury. But I think the back 4 complemented for each other well. They all covered up for themselves. Check out the classy play if Aina & Shehu. I think 2 and 3 have been covered. And if Brian Idowu joins up with the eagles in Russia, then Echiejile may face stiff competition.

Ezenwa is -1. His shakara was too much. Yet he was caught many times in no man's land.

Rohr has not studied our boys well. Poor technical input tonight

Ola Aina showed comfort going forward. Showed tactical depth in his play but his tracking back was faulty. Apart from that, I was okay with his play.

The gaps were too much and it took a lot of work from Balogun to keep it unnoticeable.

Like to see him play on a better pitch to judge his stamina running up and down the flanks.

It is very humiliating to be ignored continuously. If he can't play him today against Algeria na against Argentina he wan play am?

-----------------Uzoho---------------

--Shehu---Ekong---Balogun---Aina---

-------------Ndidi----Agbo---------

----------------Mikel-----------------

---Iwobi-----Kayode---Onyekuru

Ebuehi, Etebo to come into the game in the 2nd half.

I couldn't watch the game today cus it was a night game... will check it on YouTube though..

But I'm disappointed in Rohr for not playing Ebuehi.. he could have just brought him for a fee minutes just so we can finally cap him... even if he ain't gonna displace Shehu let's see what he has to offer us...

BTW, I saw some complaint here about our jersey today...can somebody send pics of the jersey pls??
