I tire o... Just dey imagine if Argentina flog our ass Next Week... Imagine what people will call the coach and the player . just that I don't think we will lose the Argentina match...

Do you remember we once beaten Argentina by 4 goals to 1... In 2011 at national stadium abuja...
Allegedly fixed match....?

honestly expect the worst from nigerians if we loose to argentina, they will forget it's a friendly match and bash hell out of rohr and the players like they have done today despite its a dead rubber game. Ezenwa may be crucified upside down should we loose.

You are right but first 10mins of his game was kind poor Misplace passes maybe the pitch or the mask... He came out good..

I dunno Balogun he getting used I have poor game at the first minutes of the game... Clinical opponite might take advantage of such

It is the pitch. They just got on it. It was so bad and they had to adjust to manage it. It was so bad. Keep in mind an Algerian player injured by 29 minutes.

Some of us sha must criticize and point fingers, how else them wan take know say we be 'analysts'?

The last few pages have been a healthy blend of comedy and horror. I wouldn't want to go back and forth on what has already been said so I'll just make my points.

1. We still need a striker. No other match showed this more than today. Nwakeame did alot of hold-up and pressing but is technically very limited. He is an old fashioned jam-body striker. The game has evolved past that and it would be a miracle if he makes it to Russia with this kind of performance, which would be a shame considering how enthusiastic and wide lipped he was when celebrating our qualification in uyo.

2. Everyone of you who has ever opened his or her mouth to question Ekong's place in our first team owe him an apology. It is just the moral thing to do. From Ex-internationals saying Balogun is covering his ass to omambala and his crew on NL always going hard on him, hope you all are seeing how he has stepped up this period when Balogun is struggling with form?

3.To be honest, it wasnt the best of games for Aina. His clearance many a times left much to be desired. He was solid going forward but left plenty of spaces behind. He is for sure an upgrade on echiejile and I hope he improves.

4. Shehu was clearly my man of the match. The boy oozes confidence. Not scared to take on players and not scared to make tackles. Should have gone down from that brahimi headbutt.

5. Two atrocious calls from the referee ruined the game. Brahimi had no business on the pitch after headbutting Shehu, and that penalty was as soft as a freshly baked agege bread. This one pain me I no go lie. An 86th minute equalizer from a dubious penalty is no way to end a near perfect campaign.

6. Etebo is a workaholic but is not creative enough. With onazi on the pitch, we wouldn't be needing him. Ogu kept things simple. Can't say he was outstanding and wouldn't say he was poor.

All In all, the Argentina game will give some players the final chance to show why they are in the team. I won't criticize this team, we surely haven't seen their best yet. With adequate camping and friendlies, the team will gel.

Another player I would like to see on a decent pitch playing for us is Nwakaeme. From his touches, I can see he has good skills, works hard to track back, can be a nuisance to defence and can fire at will. Sad the pitch messed his chance of impressing but I saw the signs.
thank u

No, the point is let's stop inviting him abeg. When you don't have confidence in a player what's the player doing in your squad, taking up good space and wasting it.

Not everyone can play everytime.

He's a backup for now, maybe not good enough for a starter, if Shehu was injured, who else would take his place??

Shehu is a warrior. He impressed me a lot. Makes the work easy for Ekong. I believe Ekong is glad working with Shehu Abdullahi.

Not only a warrior but a genius... Did you see him when he drafted to the midfield...

If not for his role as LB... I would have suggest we play him at midfield to see what he can offer but... Rohr won't change the back 4 soon or else injuries set in...

Ezenwa worked hard and showed fight. That I give to him and I also liked his confidence. However, the Algerians prepared well for him and it showed in the match. Ezenwa is not good with dealing with aerial balls under heavy pressure. It showed repeatedly although he was fouled in one.

I think Uzoho would have performed better and I would like to see him given a shot. Also, I suggest the return of Alampasu to camp. The so called logistics talk, I do not buy it.

You prefer Agbo to Ogu?
Agbo is the more defensive player, and will help Ndidi in shielding the defense. With Aguero, Icardi, Higuain, and Dybala on the pitch, the SE will need to be defensively solid. However, Ogu can still get his chance in the 2nd half.

Ogu got the back locked. I doubt even Shehu can post such a performance.

my fear is rohr sticking wit the errors of today...same mistakes he made against RSA....he rarely make changes...

etebo is not AM...why play him there...you see today the boy was lost...his impact was rarely felt...why not swap wing with iwobi...

and for nwakeme guy....I fear he does not start him same...against Argentina....

rohr is a good man manager I agree....but this area of tactics leaves me scared...

Iheanacho. He was okay, put a decent shift. Dangerous free kicks and showed some skills on the flanks. Enjoyed him more when he moved up front. Although we did not create much chances, his work and pressing kept the Algerians in a panicked State.

His tackle and interterception was okay.. Bu kind slow and heavily I really love his attempt with shots...

I will like to see Ogu Mikel and Ndidi against Argentina.

With Henry and iwobi then nacho should strike ...

are you aware that the games against algeria and argentina are experimental games? if he does not experiment now, when will he do it? at the world cup? look here rohr has his starting 11 already, he is only trying out new experiment and which games will he do that? there are nothing at stake with these games and so expect more trial and error. You guys are not even appreciating the fact that just in november alone we are playing two warm up games to prepare the eagles.

you guys should chill pls

I do not see any constructive criticism that should go as far as condemning the coach's ability.

We failed to qualify for 2 AFCONs, back to back. Ofcourse, the team needs work and we can talk about what needs to be done. If we beat Argentina, the same complainers will be praise singers.

Apart from Mike, that AM position should be occupied by Either Nacho or Iwobi

Slow works as long as Ogu is shielding the defence. Although in the second half, Rohr gave him more liberty. If he keeps it tidy at the back, he would not require much speed.

Don't mind those people complaining here and there. The coach has to experiment and this is the right time to do so and not the WC.

This is for Mickael2 who argued the Algerians played better, the stats indicates otherwise in terms of possession, shots on targets and passes completed.

Its interesting to note that there could be as many as five Middle-Eastern countries at the world cup.

Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iran have already booked their tickets to the mundial. Morocco and Tunisia could join them later today.

so many positives from the eagles so far and for the first time, we have started early preparations for the world cup by using our last dead rubber wcq game and a grade A international friendly with Argentina in russia where the world cup itself will hold.

It can't get better than that. Finally, the super eagles of old would have bundled today's match by the regular big players not tuning up e.g. Okocha, some players would have even selected to play argentina instead of algeria. But look at the eagles today playing as if they are yet to qualify. The patriotism players like balogun, ekong, iwobi and the rest are showing is something to be proud of and mikel turning up for a dead rubber match despite not playing is something that was missing even in the era of oliseh and co.

is the team perfect? No but they deserve all the credits, if person pass exam, he should be commended and not be blamed again for his bad hand writing when he has good results to show

Joebie:
My Ratings (Out of 10)

Shehu 8
Ekong 8
Balogun 6.5
Aina 7
Etebo 6
Iwobi 6
Iheanacho 6
Nwakaeme 4
Ndidi 7
Ezenwa 5
Ogu 7.5

Good rating Joebie, but i want to base my comment on Ezenwa and Nwakaeme based on your rating.

Ezenwa 5 clearly showed today is not our man for the world cup and this w definitely increase the call for Enyeama and his performance today has opened the door for others to compete again, just too glaring he can't do it.

A lot praise Ezenwa due to his performance against Cameroon and Zambia but watching the two matches all over again he did nothing special than the confidence he imposed which Akpeyi always lacking, apart from confidence Akpeyi is better.

Now we are having not so real keeper in Ezenwa and shaking Akpeyi, what do we do if Enyeama refused to come out of retirement.

A lot may argue this but I can tell anybody who care to listen that Dele Ajiboye is better than Ezenwa and Akpeyi.

There is need to give Uzoho and Alampasu chance, truly the two guys are young but they are talented, the height is there and having European club tutelage is an advantage.

Rohr and his coaching crew especially goalkeeper trainer should pay special attention to Uzoho not easy to be in goal for Deportivo at a very young age,Alampasu need to be recalled and let us see him in action, also Dele Ajiboye cos he is better than Ezenwa and Akpeyi.

Nwakaeme was a huge mistake but what baffled me was the way Nwakaeme was rated on this thread, honestly Kayode is far better, not a super eagle material.

Rohr should stop calling players based on recommendation from outside his crew,he should send his scout out cos just too embarrassing see player like Nwakaeme in eagles colour, funny enough Nwakaeme and Aaron Samuel were called up during Cameroon match.

Ihenacho should be encouraged to keep talking those set peices, That way he will build up more confidence. i dont understand the critics towards Rohr for trying him from the flanks, after all its what the coach set out to achieve by trying out new things.

Nwakaeme was not so bad tbh. Yes he missed some chances but his hold up was good and he can also play on the flanks which is a plus.

EZENWA-Right from his first game against Cameroon, I knew he just wasn't there yet. He was simply atrocious today, fumbling at handling crosses, could have gifted away 3 goals or so today. If he's this pressured in a dead rubber game, how then in the World Cup proper?

SHEHU-To me the best defensive player, he made that right flank his. He gave Ekong little work to do. Would have loved him to have over exaggerated the effect of Brahimi's headbutt by catching his nose or falling off, that would have further convinced the ref to send him off.

EKONG-Was pretty solid, he was born to play for the eagles not the oranjes. He's shown lot of improvement since opting to play for us, and his nomination as Africa's best really added spice to his game today. keep it up Boy.

BALOGUN-Was jittery during the initial part of the game, but later grew into the game, he was pretty impressive, covering for Aina too.

AINA-Making his full debut today, combined well with his wingers, decent at the back with his clearances, couple of times, he left spaces behind and should be grateful to Leon for covering for him, I'd choose him before Elderson any day, anytime

IWOBI-I didn't enjoy seeing him play from the wings, wasn't much of a threat to the opposition.

OGU-Kept things simple, just as I like, he wasn't there to go all fancy, many expected him to be the Mikel creative replacement, just then you'd be blind to his contributions in plugging the holes in the middle. His goal was a stunner too.

NDIDI-Showed a couple of times why he's the top tackler in the EPL, had a decent game. Impressive work rate.

ETEBO-Not his best game really, he couldn't live up to what's expected of an AM, no creativity, he couldn't combine fruitfully with the attacking players, he was all over the place.

NACHO-I didn't know what Rorh was thinking, when he started him on the wings. Didn't see much from him today, but I must commend his delivery from set pieces into the box, no offence to Victor Moses, I think Nacho should continue taking the set pieces.

NWAKEME-I've always had my reservations about this guy, after watching some of his highlights in YouTube, he doesn't strike me as a footballer, let alone a Super Eagles player, well his performance today confirmed them. Showed some skills, but not enough to catch my fancy, I wouldn't fault Rorh if he decides against extending a call up to him

ONYEKURU-For the few moment he spent on pitch today, he showed promise and purpose, we sure would love to see more of him

MUSA-I'm not sure, he touched the ball more than twice, so nothing worth mentioning about his game

RORH- Starting Iwobi and Iheanacho at the flanks?? that was a total waste for me, the team wasn't as creative as we'd have hoped for as a result even though we had the personnel to. He could have taken Nwakeme out earlier, since it was obvious, he had less to offer. I'd have also preferred Kayode coming in for Iwobi than Musa. Hopefully, he can pick up the +ves and the -ves from this game and further more improve on the team.
