Indeed nothing spectacular about his performance last night. Loftus cheek, Eric Dier, Pickford were the young players who caught the eye of the British press. Tammy hardly got a mention.
Another tipid performance like this next week against Brazil, he could be out of the squad.

When u think uv seen it all... Remember Paul Onuachu right? He also deserves a call up as a center back because Balo-Kong need quality competition.

Sounds like something a donkey brained dimwit would do. . .
Thanks for suggesting it. I doubt the coach will do that he is a sane person.

If he misses Russia, he would have thrown away a golden opportunity to easily play at the WC. No guarantee, he will be in the reckoning in 4 years time.
He can't get into the world cup team I'm afraid. I don't think he's good enough just yet.
Welbeck, Sturridge, Lallana(they can't wait for his return), Vardy, Rashford, Lingard, Harry Kane, and Delle Ali are all ahead of him.
He can't get into the English squad on merit ahead of any of the mentioned.

yea, I get your points

komekn:

It's almost impossible to prove, particularly with offshore banking and a lot of foreign player transfers.

He would gives and he who recieve both are guilty. The evidential requirements within a court of law will need some one to admit giving or receiving. Nobody will indict themselves.

The other situations are quite subjective and to get the evidence problematic.

The other issues of racism that our boys face that's a whole new subject is wrong and a reflection of corruption as well.

Algeria 1-1 Nigeria: Super Eagles Player Ratings , John Ogu Rated MOTM

The Super Eagles of Nigeria played out a 1-1 draw against Algeria in the final game of their successful campaign in the World Cup 2018 Qualifiers in Constantine.

Owngoalnigeria.com rates the players on parade for Nigeria in the game which means they ended the World Cup Qualifiers without a loss.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa – Looked quite confident and comfortable especially with the ball at his feet. Dropped a harmless corner kick which almost gifted the Algerians a goal, and time after time failed to deal with routine crosses into the box….. 5/10

Shehu Abdullahi – He is for now the undisputed choice at right back for Nigeria. Solid in tackles, assured in possession and good going forward as well, unlucky to have conceded the controversial penalty which helped Algeria draw level….. 8/10

Ola Aina – Targeted by the Algerians but coped well with the threat of Mahrez. Did a good job mopping up balls for the Eagles when they push forward for set pieces….. 7/10

Leon Balogun – Started the game on a shaky note but recovered to put in a captain performance on a night when he went into the record books as the man to play for Nigeria wearing a protective mask….. 7.5/10

William Troost-Ekong – His pace is obviously his main asset but the Bursaspor man also showed another side of his game which is ability to read and intercept play….. 8/10

Ogehenekaro Etebo – Looked lost in the first half and didn’t help the cause of Nigeria in attack.. The man of the match in the reverse tie fail to justify his inclusion in the starting line up…. 5/10

John Ogu – Scored a spectacular curler. Looked very assured in possession and not scared of putting his body on the line. His ball distribution as well was top notch. Obviously a candidate to start against Argentina….. 8.5/10

Wilfred Ndidi – Showed clearly the reason why he has won more tackles and also made most interception than any player in England this season. Covered almost every blade of the pitch. Had a very lively game….. 8/10

Alex Iwobi – Struggled badly with the poor state of the pitch. Misplaced passes he would ordinary complete with ease and also look possession carelessly. No thanks to the poor playing surface….. 6.5/10

Kelechi Iheanacho – Worked really hard and didn’t look out of place playing from the right of attack, although it limited him from getting into goal scoring position where his finishing abilities would have been utilise….. 6.5/10

Anthony Nwakaeme – Strong and willing to run down the channel , he however looked isolated upfront and didn’t get enough service to wreck havoc, moved to the left flank before he was taken off….. 6/10

Substitutes:

Henry Onyekuru : Came in for Nwakaeme and tried to get involve in play but didn’t have enough time to make his mark in the game. Looked lively though….. 3.5/10

Ahmed Musa : Didn’t do enough to earn a rating

Super Eagles MOTM Ogu Reveals – I Spent My Own Money To Be Fit For Algeria Game

The goal scorer for Nigeria in their 1-1 draw against Algeria in yesterday’s World Cup 2018 Qualifiers tie in Constantine John Ogu has revealed the sacrifices he made to be fit for the game.

Ogu went off injured in an Europa League game for his Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva against Romanian side Steau Bucuresti ‎due to a muscle injury, and was later told he will be out for four weeks.

However the 29 year old battled his way back to full fitness in order to be fit for the game against Algeria, and he returned back to the pitch two weeks earlier than the time given to him by the doctors.

“October 20, in a game against Steau Bucharest in our UEFA cup match,I had a little tear in my satorious Muscle that forced me out of the game. I usually don’t go out from games but that night it was painful so I did .

“Weekend of that same week, we were to play against Maccabi Tel Aviv which is a very important game for my club . Training on Saturday, I wanted to play with me begging our doctors to inject me .But they refused because they don’t want to risk it.

“I was thinking also of this day and moment in my career . So I went for Ultra sound and it was that I had a tear and I will be out for 4 weeks they said . Thank God for the Gene he blesses me with . I told them I will be back in two weeks.

“I spent my own money to visit a specialist, went for therapy with my team 3 times .Spent also on Orthotics to fit in my boots . Came back exactly in 2weeks just to be back to represent my country . Missed 2 league games and Europa League game .

“I’m not looking way too sharp yet but I will keep working hard . I’m really proud of the team tonight . We worked as a team and fought for each other . Happy all my efforts were not in vain . I’m Grateful to God for his grace upon my life”, he posted in a series of numbered posts on social media application twitter.

Arsenal Goalkeeper Of Nigerian Descent Okonkwo Earns Rave Reviews In England U17 Debut For the first time in his career, Arsenal schoolboy Arthur Okonkwo pulled on an England jersey at U17 level with the number 13 at its back as the Young Lions came from behind to beat Russia 2-1 in Burton on Saturday.

The highly-rated young goalkeeper had appeared for England at U15 and U16 level before he was handed his England U17 debut by Steve Cooper.

According to the match report by the English FA on its official website Okonkwo put up a commanding performance.

England would have conceded for the second time in the fifth minute but he saved an effort from Kutovoi.

Krasnodar forward Maksim Kutovoi converted a spot kick to give the visitors the lead in the opening minute.

Chelsea's Clinton Mola equalised in emphatic fashion in the 49th minute, before Manchester United's Mason Greenwood made it 2-1 seven minutes later.

Arthur Okonkwo was an unused substitute in England's 3-2 win over Portugal on November 8.

The 16-year-old has trained with Arsenal's first team at least two times in the 2017-2018 season.

Nice ratings but I disagree with the rating of Aina. Apart from that, top notch breakdown. Reading this reminded me of how Ezenwa skinned the Algerian forward. Nerve racking but brilliant.
Algeria vs. Nigeria: Super Eagles Player Ratings

While Nigeria's spot at the 2018 World Cup was already secured heading into Friday's final qualifier against Algeria, the fixture in Constantine offered an ideal opportunity for several players within Gernot Rohr's squad to impress ahead of the showpiece.

Here's how the Super Eagles fared in their 1-1 draw against Les Fennecs:

5 Ikechukwu Ezenwa: The goalkeeper played with confidence and passed comfortably out from the back, but he didn't have any real saves to make. However, his handling was dodgy from crosses, and he was fortunate not to give two goals away.

9 Abdullahi Shehu: The stand-out player for the second game in a row, Shehu shutout the dangerous Yacine Brahimi, and while he did not bomb forward as usual, he still did enough to support Alex Iwobi in front of him.

7 Leon Balogun: The defender was caught out for pace on at least two occasions, but we all know he is not the quickest. However, he did have enough in the tank to twice make the saving tackle and bail Nigeria out.

7 William Troost-Ekong: Complemented Balogun superbly, and was up for the foot race to cover for the other half of the Oyinbo Wall. He also drove forward to join the attack.

8 Ola Aina: Another impressive game for the youngster in only his second international. He put Riyad Mahrez in his pocket, staying disciplined, aware and refusing to be tempted to commit early. Mahrez's early substitution was surely partly due to Aina's excellent mastering of the Leicester City wideman.

9 John Ogu provided a tidy, nerveless screen for the back four, ventured forward when he had to and came up with a neatly struck volley to put Nigeria in front. A few late tackles almost cost him, but he gets the Man of the Match vote for that goal and his all-round competent midfield display.

8 Wilfred Ndidi combined well with Ogu to break up play, but his showing was undermined by too much errant passing. It's hard not to blame the pitch though.

7 Oghenekaro Etebo was almost non-existent for all of the first half, but emerged reborn in the second. He planted himself into tackles and chased down lost causes. Could he have done more to support Tony Nwakaeme?

6 Alex Iwobi: It wasn't his best game by a long shot, as even he would agree. However, it was mostly down to the pitch. He did everything right, but on at least two occasions, his finishing let him down.

6 Kelechi Iheanacho doesn't have the best of first touches on a good day, and on a pitch this bad, this failing was even more brutally enhanced. He did deliver one good free kick, and had two others on target.

6 Tony Nwakaeme: It wasn't the best of debuts for the Israel-based hitman. He was isolated and double-teamed upfront for most of the time he spent on the pitch, and was ultimately forced to drop wide and then deep to forage. He had two half chances before being substituted, but hit both at the keeper. With better support, he could be a good asset for the Super Eagles.

Substitutes

5 Henry Onyekuru came on for Nwakaeme, and almost scored with his first real effort on the ball by beating his man and cutting inside before his effort was deflected out for a corner. The wideman at least showed desire and energy, but competition in his position remains fierce.

Exclusive : Russian-Nigerian Left Back Idowu Arrives Super Eagles Camp In Russia
November 11, 2017

Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively report that Amkar Perm Russian-Nigerian defender Brian Idowu has arrived the hotel of the Super Eagles ahead of their game against Argentina on Tuesday.

The Amkar-Perm left back teamed up with the team upon their arrival and will join them tomorrow when they are expected to have their first training session.

Idowu was placed on standby by coach Gernot Rohr for the game against Argentina but the left full back is now expected to train and fight for a spot in the team for the game on Tuesday.

He is expected to provide cover and give the coach more options in the left full back slot, which is currently one of the area coach Rohr is still searching for options bar regular left back Elderson Echiejile.

Last night Ola Aina manned the position but he is more comfortable playing as a right full back even though he didn’t do much wrong in yesterday’s game which ended 1-1.

Rohr Confirms Mikel Will Face Argentina, Set To Test Uzoho
November 11, 2017 8:02 pm
By Dare Esan

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr also revealed that captain Mikel Obi will return to the starting line-up in Tuesday’s friendly against Argentina in Krasnodar, Russia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Mikel sat out Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier against Algeria on Friday World Cupin Constantine following his late arrival.

Rohr also hinted that Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper Francis Uzoho may get his chance to feature.

Uzoho, 18, is one of three goalkeepers in the squad for the friendly and is eyeing his Super Eagles debut.

“Mikel of course will come back,” Rohr told Completesportsnigeria.com in Constantine. “He didn’t play against Algeria because it was not a good moment for him coming from China. Playing two games in four days is a risk for him and we both agreed that was best for him to sit out.

“Against Argentina we will make some changes with two or three players. It will be interesting to see another goalkeeper. We have to work hard to be better.”

Argentina, who were in the same group as Nigeria in the last two World Cups, will be without Lionel Messi for the friendly.

Rohr List Areas Super Eagles Need More Options Ahead World Cup 2018 in Russia
November 11, 2017

The Super Eagles of Nigeria is still a work in progress according to coach of the team Gernot Rohr despite their unbeaten run in the World Cup 2018 Qualifiers.

Nigeria ended a successful qualifiers yesterday by drawing 1-1 against Algeria in Constantine yesterday despite not playing six players who are considered by the coach as the spine of the team.

Despite the fine performance of the fringe players Rohr insist there are areas where he still needs more options and in some case improvements by the players in the team.

” We are still going to keep working on the team, there are areas we still have concerns and more work to do. Also we open to new players in some areas “, Rohr said.

” In defence, attack and also in the midfield, but it’s more of working with those we have now to make it work in the midfield. The best team possible is what we hope to parade in Russia”, he concluded.

TheGoodJoe:
Echiejile lost his place in the squad in the last qualifying games of Coach Keshi after consecutive poor performances led us to a bad position in the qualifiers.
