seguno2: You gave a non-contextual interpretation of that verse, sir. You simply took out the agricultural product part, completely ignoring the other parts. In those days, there were little use of money as most items were procured by products' exchange. So, agric products were almost equivalent to present day money. Of course, we cant all bring our "products" (and services) to God as tithe today. We bring money equivalent. From that verse, Jesus appreciated the Pharisees for paying their tithes, but he encoyraged them to participate in weightier issue of life. This implies that the tithe is good and biblical, but should be done alongside other good things |

ifenes: Ifenes, Let’s not be extreme. I know where you are coming from but let’s not overlook the fact that: 1.Church does serve a purpose. 2. There are several different types of churches. The fact that some people have decided to outsource their spiritual development is a totally different matter entirely. |

The thief said that "many believers are on their way out because they are keeping more of their wealth than desired ". 1. First of all, the crook should know that most people who give actually give from their meagre incomes or hard earned money, not from some enormous pile of wealth 2. He ( Oyedepo ) is keeping more than is necessary , he should sell all he has and give to the struggling members of his congregation 3. In many countries where tithe is not paid, the unbelievers ( so called ) live more healthy and prosperous lives than those who this liar and crook is accusing in Nigeria of not giving their best Come out of the churches of these wicked occultic men and be free 10 Likes 1 Share |

My own questions goes thus, 1.Are Jews not christains? 2. As a christain, if we r suppose to follow the law of the jews why choose tithing alone, what happen to other laws? 3.why are these pastors not quoting any bible verse to support their belief? 3.if the pastors also pay tithes, pls who collects them? 4.why are these pastors suddently outspoken when it comes to the issue of tithing.. but kept mute when they talk about the exorbitant school fees they impose on their school meant to better the lives of people... 5.why is it that, majority of people who are against tithing seems to be the poor and the unemployed ones? 6.can these upcoming pastors claiming 'God called them' survive without collecting tithes? 7.All these made pastors claiming they dont use use the tithe for anything, pls what are the tithes being used for then? 8.To all these already made rich pastors, Can anyone of them come out and tell us if they have never for once use these tithes for their own personal use. 9.Now that these rich pastors that are now claiming the tithes are too inconsequential, can they all tell us if these same tithes were inconsequential whey they were upcoming pastors or when they were just starting as pastors... questions tobe contd.... 1 Like

sarutobie: Was he talking to you? Christ had not died and the Levitical priesthood (sustained through tithes) was still in existence. Now, Christ has died and we have a Melchizedek priesthood (not supported by tithe). Haven't you read in your Bible the reason why tithes belonged to the Levites? 3 Likes |

Ignorance is indeed a disease! This is a very old video that has absolutely no connection with Daddy Freeze or what he said about tithing...Bishop David Oyedepo can NEVER stoop to that level as to reply a stray sheep who has refused to tread the path of salvation. God bless and keep His anointed ones. |

odimbannamdi: What do you expect from a false teacher and a con man. You expect him to be harsh like John the Baptist or Jesus Christ and lose his large followers and the proceeds they bring in to feed his greed? One thing all salesmen have is good sense of humor. In MY church and YOUR church people pay tithe for the following reason: -pastor keeps record so they don't want to enter bad book of non-tithers. -don't read the bible themselves so they're not in the know. -looking for blessing believing that Abraham's blessing was because he paid tithe. (I'm afraid of this group cos they can also easily be wooed into idolatry or sacrifices). -afraid of curse because of emphasis on OT:Malachy. -looking for protection from disaster Here's a dissection of the bible on this topic. Though the writer failed to identify the three types of tithes, I must agree with him that "old things have passed away" and so should set aside. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/11/dont-persecute-daddy-freeze-tithing-today-scam/amp/ 1 Like |

GodsOwnFav: Yet, Jesus stooped low to die for everyone. When we accuse you of worshipping your pastors, you will deny it vehemently. If the Son of God himself could stoop low to be born of a mere woman, and be laid in a manger and die like a common criminal, then, who the hell is Oyedepo? The last time I checked, Oyedepo was a man, not God. 2 Likes |

TreasuredGlory: Collecting Tithe and offering is a form of unbelief to God Most all believers think of unbelief, not as a sin but as a weakness. And therefore they don't learn to hate unbelief as they hate other sins. But the Bible speaks of an unbelieving heart as an EVIL heart (He. 3: 12) Jesus rebuked His disciples seven times for unbelief. (See Mt. 6:30; 8:26; 14:31; 16:8; 17:17-20; Mk.16:14; Lk.24:25). It seems that He almost never rebuked His disciples for anything else!! Unbelief is an insult to God, because it implies that God does not care or provide for His children even as much as evil fathers on earth care and provide for their children. There is also a counterfeit faith being preached these days, as a means of getting things from God. But that is not the faith that Jesus preached. He wanted us to have faith to live by, in our daily life. Victory over depression, bad moods and discouragement can come only as we have faith in a loving Father in heaven and in the wonderful promises He has given us in His Word. Twice we read of Jesus being amazed - once when he saw FAITH and once when He saw UNBELIEF!! (Mt. 8:10; Mk. 6:6). Jesus was excited whenever He saw faith in people. And He was disappointed when He saw people unwilling to trust in a loving Father in heaven. Most Pastors today believe in their members pocket not God, I can boldly tell you that Gbile Akani is a good example for any Christian today, Zac Ponnem and their likes not Pastors like the one you saw in that video who will even tell you to attack a Fulani man for attacking you or like Pastor Suleman or Apostle Suleman they are NOT an example for any serious Christian 4 Likes 2 Shares |

frosbel2: May God bless you. They continue to defend their greed by insisting that money is needed to run the ministry. If the ministry is run modestly, it would have long stopped needing huge donations that are burdens to many needy people in the ministry. It is because every pastor is running his ministry extravagantly that they will continue to need huge donations. Until we bring the Church back under Christ, these men will continue to spend lavishly in the pretence of building houses for God. For now, just as it was prophesied in the Bible, the sheep have been scattered abroad. 3 Likes |

TreasuredGlory: You and your GO's can continue with you deception on this matter of Giving for the work of God is okay, but I want you to know that there are men of God in this country that walk the way of Christ just like the early Apostles did and yet you don't hear about them... Gbile Akani is a very good example and many others who grew under him. They don't collect tithe nor offering yet God is seing them through, they are good example of men who live by faith. |

TheHotspur: Thank you very much. The likes of Oyedepo move about in large entourage and fly private jets. Such extravagant lifestyle. If the ministry is modest in its spending, I don't see why they still burden the flock financially. They should be the ones feeding the flock now. The amount these churches make every Sunday is enough to sustain them for another whole year without burdening their followers. If only they can live modestly. You will never see them talk about how Jesus maintained his ministry without living extravagantly or the Apostles carried on without buying ships. Paul went on missionary journeys to Asia Minor and Europe and yet never owned a horse or a ship. Each of these missionary journeys lasted several years and never did he talk about needing his own private boat or horse or security guards. Instead he would tarry and work with tentmakers so as not to be a burden to the flock. 3 Likes 2 Shares |
