I agree with you my good bros - take your profit out the table when it comes. Buy the dip (plunge) if you are long term on a great (value) stock.
However, they say "Don't fall in love with your investment because it won't fall in love with you" grin

This place has been hot this weekend. The market has been trading at a range for weeks now. Nobody knows when the expected break will come.

I foresee a huge positioning in DEC/JAN in dividend paying stocks by investors.

Lesson: Not all good looking stocks are good investments. Apply your filter. The very good stocks are hardly discussed ( Always have that in mind).

Looking at NB stock price from 2011, it is noticeable that there have been price appreciation between 5% to 20% in November and December alone. With this statistics, can there be a repeat in 2017?

The chart below gives the pictorial evidence of what I mean. It shows the price gain of the stock from Nov 2014. The least price gain was witnessed last year with a 5% profit. Magenta line is the entry price while the blue line is the exit (profit taken). The challenge here is that your entry must be right, i.e, attempt to pick the stock at "the bottom" in order to enjoy its "maximum" gain.

Is this for me?
This trade is not for everyone unfortunately. If you're fearful or too greedy, stay away! If you're not technically sound in reading charts, please stay away!

What to LOOK OUT FOR?
I have marked the magenta dotted line as a potential entry price on weekly chart if:
-price touches this mark thrice, buy the stock
-take profit on the dotted blue lines. Line 1 gives about 5% 7% gain and second blue line gives 17% profit.

PLAN YOUR TRADES AND TRADE YOUR PLANS

What is your fair value for CI LEASING and CAVERTON.?
what is your take on this stock that is LEARNING in AFRICA to make INTENDY'S 52 week list' ?

NB: I love illusive stocks that make me real cash than SOLID STOCKS that RANGE forever... grin
Advising on a potential buy point is as equally dangerous as advising on a potential sell point. I appreciate the fact that you are not hibernating the two actions in a single cell. Actually, getting greedy people without a profit target out of a winning stock is like stopping orgasm midway... grin
You make 30% in 7 days in a stock, while other fellows have to wait 365 days and nights to average 18% - 21% in fixed assets, yet you wait to blame people after giving back 50% to the Market ( part of your original cash).
You don't start learning how to swim by jumping into the lagoon... grin

Sir, I'm always eager to learn. Should one exit a stock even after 100% gain, when the fundamentals are still intact?

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Standardguy(m): 8:41am On Nov 12, 2017
Bank stocks are still the most reliable for now. All banks are highly regulated especially by CBN. They cannot just publish anyting they like. Their report must be vetted by CBN auditors in addition to the regular review of their books. No bank can easily go down now. Most other coy have their directors as their mgt and regulator at the same time and NSE and SEC may not be able to look deep into all coy cos of the volume of work.

Always do your due diligence before and after buying a stock and its always better to go for dividend paying stocks with good history of it so that in any crash the regular dividend can reduce the effect as the stock may be trading below its intrusive value.

May God help us.

I understand your emotion is running high because of the unpleasant news about the coy. However, my post is just an opinion which does not in anyway determine what mr. Market will do tomorrow. Though based on logic and precedence, investors would be expected to react negatively to the news by staying away from the shares because no one wants his or her investment to be slashed by 25%.. shocked...Its purely value erosion! Hence, my submission that the price might fall sharply.

Aside the liquidity of these stocks are too low to accommodate any slight uncertainties; then you start to look for buyers forever

I reacted because you seem to be practically gloating over the real or imagined looming predicament. Emotions running high? How much you love over-statements! I don't have any unit of this stock. I don't know anything about cileasing.

PERSONALLY, I will ALWAYS reduce my position size after a 100% gain and severally before, except I am made the CEO.
Notice when the fundamentals are no longer seeing the break light of the price.
Also know that people WRITE these fundamentals which you CANNOT truly confirm, but the profit you book can easily be verified with your ATM.

People invest for different reasons and timeframes.
If you do not know the reason for buying a particular stock, Mr Market is not the best person to submit your questionnaire to.

NB: I am a short term player as I still have union homes/Goldlink in my portfolio to constantly remind me that profit comes from PRICE ACTION.

I can still remember when stocks like zenith went as low as #8, Gt as low as #15, Prophets of doom were waiting for zenith @ #5,Only the bold of the bold were buying @ during this period...
I've come to understand that during a bull market every1 assume they are in stocks for long term....

Men that bought long during that season I mentioned can now afford to sell a thirld of their stocks saving initial capital and wait for the next GRAND PA BEAR....

GOD KNOWS HOW MUCH CAVERTON WAS DURING THIS PERIOD

It is not always easy to do so. For instance, I am already on 100% in fbnh that I bought earlier this year but I can't reduce, even though I am not the CEO. Infact something is telling me to buy more and hold till it catches up with zenith lol.

The probability that Dangote Cement will appreciate by 100% in the next one year is very slim irrespective of the fundamental

The probability that Dangote Sugar will rally by over 50 % in the next one year is feasible as the company indices may not go south

The probability that Dangote will appreciate by over 100% in the next one year is very very very feasible as the stock keeps posting over 100% in all her major indices. The company may likely pay dividend at the end of the current financial year.
