This is mostly what happens doing Medicals at Children's Practice, Ikoyi.
Of course, this will vary from person to person and could change completely in the future.

-You walk in to the Visa Medicals section. Instruction is to get there before 10am.

-Inform the person at the desk you want to do upfront medicals for Canadian PR (Express Entry)

-You'll submit a passport photo and a copy of your international passport. You'll also show your original international passport. So you need to go with 1 passport photo, a copy of your international passport & your original international passport.

-You'll be given a GTB bank teller and instructed to go pay 28050naira at GTB. A GTBank is some walking distance from the hospital. If you didn't drive there, you'll find some hangers-on taximen around the hospital for maybe 500naira (see attachment for how far GTBank is from the hospital; it's some 10mins walk).

-You return to the hospital and hand the teller to the person at desk, confirming that you've paid.

-You will be given two tags (a red & a green tag) with numbers on it. You will also be given a paper with instructions (some sort of legal agreement) that you need to sign. I guess this is to absolve Children's Practice from any fallout following your medicals. It also gives them the right to disclose your medical situation to a third party.

-You sit in the waiting room and wait to be called on. Your number on the tags will be called out.

-Usually red tag is called out first. With the red tag they do blood work on you. You walk into a small room where they take your height, weight and siphon some of your precious blood into a syringe. You will also be handed a small container here to "pee-pee" in. All of this could take about 10mins. You might want to drink enough water before going so "pee-pee"-ing is easier for you.

-You go back out to wait with your green tag. Sooner they'll call out the number on your green tag. With the green tag, you do X-ray in another room.

-You'll have to pull your shirt/top off in order to do the X-ray. Don't know why they go this length. I have been to other clinics where I didn't have to practically UnCloth to have X-ray done. But what do I know! I'm no doctor.

-Once done with the X-ray, you go to a second building where the next stages continue.

-You sit in a waiting room and wait your turn to be called.

-Firstly, you are called into another smaller room (there seems to be no shortage of small rooms in this place). Here, you sit facing someone on a computer. They collect your passport and enter your details into a computer system apparently connected to the Canadian portal. They ask you questions, collect information from you and at the end print you a nice white paper which is your medical form to be uploaded onto your EE placeholder. This is basically what you came for.

-After this, you go back into the waiting room to resume watching long faces who are all also waiting.

-You wait your turn to see a doctor. At the doctor's (another small room, evidently), you get to do the eye test and physical examination, have a chat with the doctor and answer basic questions. This is where talk about medical history & previous surgeries could come up. Doctor also enters info into a portal apparently connected to the Canadian EE system.

-At the end of this, you say goodbye to the doc and return to the original building where you started out from. Here, you hand the white medical form you got from Block B to the X-ray specialist in Block A who collects some info from it and then return it to you.

-Once you get your medical form back, you are ready to leave. That's the end of your medicals.

-All of these could take between 1 hour to 4 hours depending on the number of people visiting.

@vcole, is your nysc NOC the same with your other work experience NOC or they are different? I just want to know if one can only combine experience that falls under the same NOC or one can combine from different NOCs.

Thanks and happy Sunday to you.

Same NOC as my other work experience. I really don't know if you can combine NOCs but I would presume that if they are within class O, A or B you should be able to. Maybe others with more experience can shed more light on this.

Thank you so much. I appreciate

Yes, under sections R10 and A11.2 you will be required to show proof of your employment history (not personal history) as declared in the express entry profile. However, since you are not the PA, your employment doesn't earn you much point to be honest (if it's not work in Canada, then it earns you 0 point). In that regard, if I were you I'd focus more on strengthening the PA's application via ECA and IELTS which earn you way more points than employment.

I have a challenge that is bothering me. Please am the principal applicant, the issue is disparity in Date of birth. The date of birth in my transcript is different from the one on my passport.
What should I do?
Please all the gurus attend to my question.

Hello Everybody,

Congrats to everybody who got their intended scores in IELTS, also those who got their PPR.. and to the hopefuls, may God's favor and mercy be upon us .

Soo I just started reading this thread.. I wanted to ask if its possible to apply for study permit and express entry at the same time. I was reading up on "dual intent", so I guess its possible sha, here is the link for those who want more information:
www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/ temp/visa/dual.asp

Then I checked my crs score, i had a 404. I calculated it with an ielts result of 8777(lsrw) as I have not written IELTS exams yet and Bachelor's Degree (3 or more year program at a university, college e.t.c) as I have not evaluated my certificate.

MY PROFILE
23yrs
BEng Computer Engineering, Bells University (i hope that fact that i had 2:2 won't affect anything sha)
Exactly 2 years working experience in Network Security Engineering (NOC 2281 or NOC 2147. At this point, I'm not even sure which one).
Funds will be available in January 2018

Although I have applied for study visa and refused based on insufficient funds (lump sum). I plan to reapply in febuary 2018. I guess i just want to find out if its smart to do both at the same time.. or what do you guys think is better

Please forgive me if my essay is too long and confusing because me sef i'm also confused.

P.S
I tried to use WES free equivalency tool to evaluate.. i didn't find my school there so weird.. i hope if i eventually send my documents, it will be reviewed.
and i also have a CCNA R&S, can it be evaluated? because i see people evaluating their ICAN

Help me oo!! God bless.

Please someone help me oo.. abeg

Dual intent is allowed but I believe the final decision depends on the Visa Officer.

"Officers are reminded to use their own judgment and the flexibility afforded to them by A22(2) when making decisions in cases with a dual intent aspect. CAIPS/FOSS/GCMS notes should clearly demonstrate the officer’s reasoning when assessing a case".

Were you denied based on insufficient funds only? If yes, request for your GCMS notes and reapply. It is very easy to tackle. Your CRS score is low but you can use EE as plan B.

MY CASE

Wantd to reside in canny bt cudnt go fr msc due to slight 2:2 in bsc accounting ish n also d college tuition fees esp for 2 yrs prog dat leads to 3yrs PGWP are kinda high,so I opted to cyprus since studies is cheaper there n now going for MBA in CIU ...I have just 6 months experience as bank teller, had nysc ppa as a secondary school...after studies in cyprus I plan switching to Canny tru all dis express entry stuff.....pls family ,whats my chance
Success to all
Your chances are good. You get more points with the Masters degree. Nothing wrong with switching after a masters degree in Cyprus.

Nice scores. Your listening score is low though. You need to score a minimum of 8 in the listening module to boost your CRS score.

Good day all, my sister has a BSc degree from Nigeria and IATA Diploma in Foundation in Travel and Tourism (Distance Learning) awarded by IATA Training and Development Institute in Montreal. I will like to ask if these two can be classified as "Two or more cerificates, diploma or degree". And since the diploma was awarded by a Canadian body is there a need to do an ECA for it? Thanks

I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE, BUT IT HAS BEEN STATED THAT YOU HAVE TO USE THE NAME ON YOUR INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT.

SO JUST LET HER USE THE NAMES ON HER INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT WHETHER MARRIED OR NOT.

I HAVE BEEN USING MY MAIDEN NAME SINCE ITS WRITTEN ON MY PASSPORT.

Hello guys, Pls my wife wants to write the IELTS but her means of identification(international passport) has her maiden name(her fathers surname). How do we go about applying for the exam? Is she to use her maiden name or her new surname? And will it affect our EE application when we commence?

Kindly advice

Tnx
