Mujtahida: I will like to see Ogu Mikel and Ndidi against Argentina... Rohr will surely go for the trio of onazi Ndidi n Mikel next year... Bearing no injuries or loss of form.... |

tbaba1234: I am sorry to say that you choose what you decide to seesee. I mean placed before you are stats about all our midfielders including the one you hate to have in our team, yet you choose to blatantly ignore the good work of Ogu. This is preposterous. Agreed that he is below Onazi and Ndidi in the Super Eagles ranking. But he brings something different from the others - scoring threat. Give the young man a break. So far he has spent shorter time on the pitch compared to Onazi and Ndidi yet he has scored than both, this is a player coming in mostly from the bench. Agreed that he is also rash in tackles but he composes himself immediately after a booking and tones down his tackling a bit. So I put a question to you, don't you like a MF that scores? If you were a coach and is looking at the stats of this your 3 MF, which two would you pick to start in a "must" win match? If you are playing PEs today on your system, whose names would be your CM and DM? Looking at the stats the guy you quoted presented. Onazi 44 games 1 goal 4 assist Ndidi 13 games No goal No Assist Ogu 12 games 2 goals no assist On Cards Onazi 6 yellow 1 red Ndidi no card Ogu 3 yellow 0 red Agu 1 yellow card Yet you fault Ogu on tackles and card, and also talk down on his offense threat. From your thinking, I can sense that you will be defense minded, fair play, ball possessing without bite kind of coach. A typical African blunt coach and also a Wenger kind of Coach. In contrast, when playing me, you will meet a team that is Aggressive, spreading, ball holding, highly attack minded players (from attackers - defenders), an Alex Ferguson kind of coach. Yes! We will cause a lot of fouls but we will beat you. We will even draw out a lot of fouls from you self because our aggressive play will make you commit. I learnt a long time ago from the game of chess that every move you make should do two things - attack and at the same time defend. As in, one chess piece you move is defending and attacking at the same time. Why, because attack is the best form of defense. Now to your statement that Ogu is not a Lampard that scores all the time. Have you considered playing him all the time while fine tuning his goal scoring ability in order to make him score all the time? Because clearly the ability is there, isn't the grooming to bring out that ability that should be the coach's job? For a player who is mostly on the bench, isn't it a good thing that he can come on the pitch and score as a MF after 2-3 years on the bench? I mean do you know how sitting on the bench kills a players morale? Sitting on the bench kills players carreer and makes them a shadow of their former self. Going to the world cup we need such players. Guy I bow for you o! 1 Like |

Meaningless? What is meaningful then? It's no longer his SE performance, it's now his professional performance that counts? Should we read out stats too? You want to see that too? Is there no tendency you will also jump ship when the stats don't favor your bias? To be clear, I am not saying Onazi is a bad player only proving to you that Ogu is not a bad player either and shouldn't be downgraded like some of you are doing. tbaba1234: 2 Likes |

somehow: Abeg leave that guy make e dey shout "work output" "work output". It's like he has a personal beef with Ogu. Of what use is work output if you are 2 goals down? By then all you will need is goals to atleast equalize. From strikers, midfielders or defenders. Anywhere. The guy is not offense minded. |

Mujtahida: It does not work like that. Most of the studying and competition for places go on in camp. After that, the coach brings out his selection of the best in every role. The coach's job is not to play players in role for others to see and feel who is better. That job lies with the coach and his crew. 1 Like |

somehow: Iheanacho fell because the pitch was bad, not because he could not press. This one is not even up for debate. There is no hype in stating a fact. |

Mickael2: Your the funny one, and it's unfortunate you people like to drag players down just to defend some silly point of yours. I don't understand you, if scoring a curler from 25yards out is not being creative, then what is? Is it until he gives 3assists in one match before you acknowledge he has some creativity in his game. Apart from mikel who's the most creative center midfielder we have in the team presently? Since you know a lot about creativity from midfield. 4 Likes |

Rohr will make the best decision for the interest of the team, considering other factors. For now, Aina is ahead of Echiejile at LB. If Idowu fails to come better than Aina at LB, it will be in the best interest of the team to keep Aina at LB. Modified: But if Idowu proves to be a very solid LB, then we can start talking about who is a better RB between Aina and Shehu. Then Aina should have his chance at RB in friendlies. komekn: 1 Like |

The pitch was bad for only him? He doesn't have the stamina to press like the person you compared him with. that's fact! TheGoodJoe: |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:10am On Nov 13, 2017 |
somehow: Everyone had problem with the pitch. The reason why he fell repeatedly is because Nacho plays with a high velocity especially when he makes runs. In the second half, he fell less because he was getting used to the pitch. That is not where you use to judge the ability of a player to press. As I said, this is not even a topic for debate. |

Na only him dey play with high velocity? What about Shehu? Iwobi? They don't play with high velocity? Keep confusing the whole issue with "big big" grammar. Anyways we go see who the coach will use as his point man come 2018 world cup. No more no less. TheGoodJoe: |
