Thanks to Lady K for this response.Further questions:
1.By multi unit house you mean?
2.Is the program for a first time home buyer restricted to only USC/residents?
3.If my monthly payment is between 1,200 to 1,500 a month and I rent out at 1,000,then i won't be making any profits. So how do I make profit?

Awaiting your response

With good waec result, you should write SAT/TOEFL exams which are not that difficult compared to GRE (for masters/phd applicants). If you do good with SAT, you have 95% of getting a full ride scholarship. The only budget you would need is flight ticket and the money to travel with. SAT shouldn’t be that cost about 60k naira or so.

#omoluabi
Thanks bro.
But I saw in one website that if you have C4 and above in English and mathematics, that there os no need for TOEFL.
How true is this?

Well, TOEFL is not a must for Nigerian applicants because here, Nigeria is considered an English Speaking Country, but SAT is required for undergraduate applicants the same way GRE is required for graduate applicants depending on the program

Case 1.. I have a friend named Mr A. Mr A inturn has a friend named Mr B but i havent heard of Mr B before. So I met Mr B when I was in Nigeria planning to come here last year..

Mr A told me on phone that Mr B is working in one country in the middle east and after the whole deduction of bills, he is only left with 50k savings for a whole month after spending 13hrs at work. He said he would love me to put him through some usa visa application process which I did. He left the middle east and came back to Nigeria

I left Nigeria and Mr B was always in contact with me staying very humble to the extent he can even travel to abuja from lagos IF i say i need a cup of water in abuja lol..

Skipping all stories, He got Visa and came to the state. My friend said Mr B should stay with me pending the time he will get him and i have friends(students) living in the same apartment with me. I agreed! I used my card to pay for his NYC Airporter, paid for his bus to my place, bought sim card for him so that he can have access to sim card immediately he arrives and he got to my place and introduced him to my flatmates.I didnt collect any house rent from him, money for bills nothing since he will be with me for the main time.

Sincerely, Up to now, this guy is very nice to me but then an opportunity came and i quickly fixed him up. His work is very similar to that of OP and he gets paid regularly. when he started getting dollars and saw the difference btw US and where he worked in Middle east, Pride started coming in.

Summary, he misbehaved to all the other guys in the house, always bullshitting them saying all sort of things. FYI, I already moved out of the house and the guys always call me saying they regretted allowing him into the house.

Case 2. I and my friends were just flexing on a sunday evening when a call came through from Nigeria saying there is this guy stranded in New York that needs a place to stay and he has been wandering the streets for two weeks. my response was "let him go back home since he has nothing to do here" and ended the call. so another call came in to my friend's phone and it was the guy's mom crying on phone that he is their only hope blah blah that he cant afford to come back home. I talked to others once again to let us at least accommodate this guy since he is homeless, my friend kicked against it and we even almost fought. i stood for the guy that i will be responsible for anything he do in the house. so we paid for his bus ticket and came in. He was also humble saying "sir sir sir etc" but then after fixing him up, he started showing his true colour too..

So I planned for my wedding and told everybody that "gas and hotel" for each person should be arround $90 each which they all agree but the guy was reluctant which i noticed and i told him nicely that the wedding is just 3hrs and it is not compulsory he comes if it is not convenient. so one of my friend told him it will be unfair if he didnt go which he agreed to come.

on the wedding day, he was teased by others that the gate fee will be $25 for each person and he said and I quote " What kind of rubbish is this?I dont spend my money anyhow and He didnt tell me i will pay any fee when i get there infact I regret going/coming to this wedding ". That was his exact word.

When they arrived, they saw a African restaurant and decided to go in there to eat. A plate was sold for $10 and he refused to it saying $10 is too much for African food. during the wedding, when it was time for refreshment, he served himself and believe me, he put the largest food on his plate and ate it all. I told my wife about the development and weeks after my wife visited her friend and during their conversation, her friend said "there was this guy that served himself a lot of food that 3 people could have eaten" my wife was shocked and smiled saying she didnt notice anything.

In short after the whole wedding party, I told him infront of others that I heard what he said about me and I wasn't offended, its just that one good turn deserves another. He didn't say anything or apologized that night. It was one of the guys that told him when they were about to sleep that I was the one that recommended him and guaranteed his stay in the house. It was then he realized he needed to apologize. Had it been he was told nothing, he wouldnt have said anyting.

Other Cases : Is it the guy that was so humbled when he got here and later crossed to Canada to do asylum after helping him financially and "bullshit" all of us all.. there are soooooooooooooo many stories to tell but then All is well.

With all I have seen, I have just decided to keep to myself and stay away from Nigerians, I will assume all are the same until proven otherwise(I am sorry to say that).

You might be be right bro BUT try to mingle with Naija Ladies here with who already have green card, try to move close to them, the first question is do you have a green card grin grin

From experience, a friend studying in texas met this wonderful Nigerian lady and they were dating and she introduced him to her parents? the first question was " Is the guy a permanent resident" the lady replied NO saying the guy is non F1 visa still in school. the parents rejected him straightaway saying he is only after green card.

Since then, the lady started showing pride saying if the guy is serious about marrying him, he should propose with $4k ring cheesy cheesy. My friend was like WTF! the lady replied "dont you know i am doing you a favour by marrying you, you get a GC?" My friend just pulled out sharply

Some Naija girls here ehn. Well i believe we Nigerians(not everybody) start showing being proud especially when we stay here too long but who cares? If they reject me, I will reject them too lol

grin grin
