Seyi Ojo is injured currently.

But I would have more trust in Aina who reads the game from the perspective of a defender. Seyi Ojo may have more pace and could possibly adapt in the role. He has only one advantage over Aina if you can call Iran advantage he is naturally left footed.

But then Aina is quite competent with his left foot.
did you watch today's match?

How do you rate Idowu at LB/LWB

I agree. For this formation to work well, Mikel should have to move down to the DM. And Etebo and Iwobi can play AM. I was totally amazed with how the game changed in the second half once we introduce the Ebuehi and Idowu, who are more comfortable bombing forward.

O pari

Mickael2:

we have been trying this formation in training since, I remember before the SA game we tried it. The problem here is putting square pegs in round holes, like playing Shehu at wingback leaving a more natural wingback on the bench. Playing Ogu and Mikel, two slow players in the middle at the same time, playing Mikel a slow player as the AMF in a formation that requires quick transition from defence to attack etc etc

Cosigning. We definitely made a few discoveries in today's game.

And goalkeeper.... that's the one that sweet me pass today Wow! Uzoho may not be world class yet but, unlike Ezenwa and Akpeyi, he definitely has the basics down:
Has Confident
Has command of his area
Organizes his defenceline
Good with cutting crosses

O pari

Am one of Uzoho critics but watching him against Girona changed my mind, the guy is better than Akpeyi and Ezenwa.

Also Ajiboye i watched against Guinea is better than Akpeyi and Ezenwa cos the duo lacks so many things as keeper.

Alampasu need to be called back cos Uzoho has shown us that the young lads can do it.

I don't think we need Enyeama again due to the team spirit

My pick Uzoho, Ajiboye, Alampasu.

Me neither. I think we should gradually promote Uzoho to #1 goalkeeper and Alampasu and Ajiboye should be invited as well. Let's start with a clean sleet in the goalkeeping dept.

Idowu had a good game but Ebuhei na bomb.

Good to have Abdullahi, Ebuhei, Aina,Idowu in the team,i don't see Echiejele displacing any one coz we have Ebuhei, Aina,Idowu who are comfortable in both backs and Shehu a good RB and midfielder.

God bless Rohr at least for building our confidence and psychological edge going into the world cup that we can at least stand shoulder to shoulder against the big boiz!

Thumbs Up Nigeria.

That defence is now war zone.

Players sure (minus injury)

Ekong
Balogun
Awaziem
Shehu

Battlers
Idowu
Aina
Echejile
Agbo
Omeruo
Ebuehi

And out of this list of 10, maximum 8 can be picked and more probable is 7 defenders. Unfortunately one of Idowu, Ebuehi, Echejile and Aina to be dropped. Let's wait and see. I want us to take Aina but hmmm.

Well we never had a GK so anything was better off than what we had on ground lol.

Well yes nothing has been confirmed, just goofing around bro
Oasis007:

Nothing belongs to anybody yet Dude. Did you ever think Iwobi could play SS superbly like he did in the Match?!

Did you ever envisage Ebuehi and Idowu would perform excellently in GWG Shirt?! We need a formidable Team Bro. Uzoho is commanding, confident and seems ready for the Job. Did you ever expect him to outshine the experienced Ones in the Team?!

Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE bro!

Big shout out to Ebuehi. Shehu Abdullahi was having a nice game but the injury gave Ebuehi the chance to show what he can do.

What is impressive about Ebuehi is the ease he runs up and down the flanks. With the right timing. Shehu has served well and is yet to have a bad game. However, Ebuehi gets my pick.

Without a doubt, our second half today is the most impressive Super Eagles team I have watched since the 1994 World Cup.

we lost the first half though because of the reasons I pointed out. Remember the sharp goalkeeper I mentioned? It caused the first goal. The unnatural fullbacks? Caused the second goal and thwarted our attack. Kudos to Ogu though he did very well contrary to what I expected and Iwobi was fantastic in that position. Mikel is Mikel, hopefully Rohr learns that we can make do with a better RB than Shehu and Simon Moses and Onazi are not needed so much

I pointed out the similarities in play between Iwobi and Kanu Nwankwo. Today's second goal reminded me a lot of Kanu.

Iwobi might be Okocha's nephew but he got Kanu's blood in his vain. Props to the young man.

I am very happy for him and for Nigeria. It's funny because I have been kinda feeling sorry for him .... the way we always invite him and then he won't see even 1 min of action. And at a stage we even stopped inviting him completely.

But after today, I think he's definitely going to Russia. He's a natural in that position.
