I just thank God for rohr's life, na here for nairaland dem for bury am today, dudes let's just keep more positive on this team than the negatives, just one goal then, the eagles were already buried here on nairaland.

The only two major downsides of today's game was the keeper and ola aina, those who feel elderson's time is over should rethink and I think it's safe to go with at least two defenders who were at the last world cup, omeruo and elderson. even musa we can't discard, we need some experience going into this world cup with the young talents at our disposal. we already have an experienced mikel in the midfield and with onazi too we should be fine.

At least NFF seem to have given Rohr free hand to work with little or no interference
I see Rohr carrying out experiments trying to perfect different formations for different oppositions

Yes, we're definitely playing 3-4-3, once we get a healthy Joel Obi. I am actually surprised that Joel wasn't considered for these two games.

Simon Moses can play a Wingback role ? I yam confused
I know that Simon can play in the Left wing (AM) position, but he would always have a LB behind him.

O pari

forgiveness:

They will be back up for Joel Obi and Victor Moses and don't forget that Iwobi and Simom can also play that role. grin

That's what the formation says. But where did you see them play for the most part of the game?

grin

Boss.... I'm ain't actually following the Formation, but what's the Evident on the Pitch. He's simply tracking back, pressing, same as Iheanacho.

When Musa and Kayode came in too, they maintained the Discipline and the Game-Plan. Mikel was actually the AM on the Pitch in a Triangle Midfield Shape with two DMs behind him.

We are becoming a good counter attacking team under rohr...

Defensive pivots yes. But Mikel didn't go forward like he usually does.

Yea, I was about to say that we didn't play 4-4-2 today at all. It was always 3-5-2 or 5-3-2. What changed was that we introduced two more mobile Fullbacks (Idowu and Ebuehi) in the second half.

Think we need to stick to our 4-3-3/4-2-3-1. We simply have too many CM that'll miss out if we play 3-4-3/3-4-2-1. Rohr has got to invite Joel Obi for the next games.
I'm still dreaming of a Ndidi/Onazi - Joel Obi - Mikel midfield.

Ebuehi na real slow poison ooo. Fear quiet people ooo because you go run when dey unleach their demons.
I think people erroneously undermine Ebuehi because of his frame and quiet nature but dude is so classy with the ball on his feet.

Keep in mind Shehu has not had a bad game. I do not think he was bad in this game too. Remember the second goal came from the left, Aina's gap.

However, I agree Ebuehi creates more options when he plays and makes the team more fluid. The stance was Shehu would be hard to displace. I think the knock from Aguero gave Ebuehi that chance. Also Rohr noticing more fluidity due to bombarding full backs up and down the flanks will increase our chances.

However, I do not think it is a draw dow on Shehu.

This game just served to show that right personel in right positions is all we need for things to work. And not sentiments. Aina is a good player but deploying him to the left was a bit hard for him to cope with. And that will probably make his rating to take a hit. Just unfair on the dude.

We still need more creative midfielders. If possible as much as 5 in the team. This game also showed that the best should always play at every point in time. I was kinda flustered when I noticed that Brian was left on the bench in the first half. And the Argies took notice of the fact that we had a weak left side and thus exploited it promptly.

I do however have a stick for Rohr..... He should learn to play his game and not be defensive or as some say here, conservative.he shouldnt play like Mourinho who sits back to see what Man city has to offer before making appropriate changes. In some games, we might not be soooo lucky to come back from 2 goals down. We should have soomany options and jokers to choose from but over and above, prosecute with the best legs as the good joe and Forgiveness will always say.

Final thought.... Competition for spots is what the team needsat this time. See how Akpeyi lost his spot on a platter of (definitely not gold)....whatever . I have always said it that the dude is no use to us. It seemed like being harsh. Same goes for Omeruo. We need an extra left back to support brian. We also need play makers. Now I believe those who feel Ogu is slow and not too good can give it a rest. Pace isnt everything. Keeping things tidy as a holding midfielder is key. The dude did just that.

It will be a remiss of me, if I do not mention what a wonderful strike from Iheanacho Kelechi today. He should keep it up. Keep working on his set pieces. Kudos to the whole team for mental resilience. To the coaching crew too for correcting their errors immediately. GOD bless Nigeria!

Yes, Ndidi has definitely upped his game. These two games - against Algeria last Friday and today - are two of his best performances in the Super Eagles shirt.

I just dey wait for this guy and moses to combine well on the right.

I so much love the interview Rohr granted at channels TV.. And he's really following all his plan... Very conservative about his team during WC qualifiers after backfired SA experiment... Now trying out different formation to accommodate his personel players on the team tells alot...

Just wish NFF allow him to continue after WC... Cos he still have plan for the grassroots footballs...

Great work by the players...

We can start from the scratch at the goalkeeping dept... Uzoho get the nod as first choice...

More challenges for ighalo, onazi and echijiele...

This match today have cleared some people's doubts today. Those that wanted to see how the super eagles game will react to while they're on the loosing side.

I think what kept the super eagles going was team spirit. I was streaming the match on beIN USA and I overheard the commentator kept repeating it that the team spirit of the super eagles and was incredible.

I know with what we've done to the Argentines this evening. England,Germany, Spain and France etc will all want to play us before the world cup grin grin

Yea, it definitely wasn't intentional. Otamendi sold it very well to the ref - he's an Argie, after all grin

haba intentional or not it was an elbow to the face. Otamendi's reaction was probably because u don't expect that kind of treatment from a former teammate. Nacho on his part showed good maturity by just laughing it off.

we lost the first half though because of the reasons I pointed out. Remember the sharp goalkeeper I mentioned? It caused the first goal. The unnatural fullbacks? Caused the second goal and thwarted our attack. Kudos to Ogu though he did very well contrary to what I expected and Iwobi was fantastic in that position. Mikel is Mikel, hopefully Rohr learns that we can make do with a better RB than Shehu and Simon Moses and Onazi are not needed so much
At this stage apart from Akpeyi and the old brigade, I won't write anybody off. Look at how sprightly Musa looked. Omo, I will just be watching. We've been humbled. You are saying Simon Moses, Onazi are not needed because they were not around. Ogu nko,? Look now. Let every player fight. The word now is fight!!!
