Curtisaxel27: I dont think you are being fair. Playing Ola Aina on the left when he is a natural rightback is injustice. Just because he was asked to cover the left back and he didnt perform well doesnt make him over rated. You have to put things into perspective. I have watched the dude severally and I can tell you he is a baller! For yesterday's game against a top side as Argentina, playin a makeshift left back was bound to haunt us. The fault for me lies with the coaching crew who left a natural left back on the bench. If you are naturally right handed but have a fair use of your left hand in a game of tennis. How productive will you be if you are asked to use ur left all thru a game..? Exactly my point! In yesterdays game, he didnt have to play at all. And if he did, he should have been tried on the right as a sub for Shehu. Moral of the whole story? Play the right people in the right positions. 6 Likes |

ykalhaji:Thank you for knowing the game,in 3-5-2 formation the 3 defenders must shield the right, central and left side of the defence which i thumb up Ekong for doing a yeoman job. Shehu and Awaziem were find more wanting but Ekong raised to the occasion, coming to their rescue, the Argentines had more crosses at the right side than left side but Balogun had below performance and it really showed to the build up of Argentine goal. |

somehow: Most likely
With a draw you still get points. I have been able to get the formula from fifa website. P = M x I x T x C For November Match 1: Algeria vs Nigeria Scores = 1 - 1 Strength of confrendation = 0.86 - 0.86 Strength of opposition = 159(200-41) - 133(200-67) Therefore M = 1 - 1 I = 2.5 T = 159(Algeria) - 133(Nigeria) C = 0.86 Nigeria P = M x I x T x C = 1 x 2.5 x 159 x 0.86 = 286 Match 2: Argentina vs Nigeria Scores: 2 - 4 M = 0 - 3 I = 1 (friendly) T = 159 (Argentina) - 196( Nigeria) C ={ 0.98 (South America) + 0.86(Africa)} /2 = 0.92 Nigeria P = M x I x T x C = 3 x 1 x 196 x 0.92 = 541 Total points for the month of November = 286 + 541 = 827 x 0.4(% for number of matches) = 331 Current Nigeria fifa rankings points = 721(41st) 721 + 331 = 1052 Therefore, Nigeria's November points should be 1052. Barring any plus or minus, we should be around 25 in world rankings by December. Thank you Argentina 6 Likes

Biggest lesson is the talk of a player must play long with teammates before he deserves a nod. Ebuehi, Idowu and Uzoho played like they were regulars in the side. There is need for blending but first, you need the best in every role before talking of blending. A good example was when Ebuehi overlapped but Mikel did not notice Ebuehi approaching and chose to cross the ball. Mikel later apologized to Ebuehi and with time, that mistake will not happen because Mikel Obi will have a better understanding of Ebuehi. That is how it should be. Quality before blending. Not playing a weaker player because he blended with the team. A better quality player without experience is better than a weak player with experience. 9 Likes |

kennysville: you guys should stop being sentimental, this thread was awashed with how aina is a better player than elderson, now he has failed to live up to the billing, you are now saying he is better at the right back, abeg make we talk true, the guy fall hand |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 8:54am On Nov 15, 2017 |
Kog45:Alampasu and Ajiboye have not been tested. And we'd play next in March 2018. The schedule is tight. Uzoho needs more exposure. Anyway I still feel Enyeama is needed. We shouldn't go with three rookie goalkeepers. It's not an argument for experience though. Enyeama would also have to prove himself to merit a place. |

Goke7:Nooo ooo. The gauge you are using to judge Aina here is not the same as when he was praised. Then it was Echiejile's LB play that was compared to Aina's LB play. But factor in the fact that he played as a wingback not LB yesterday. he's not a natural LB. Fine he could still play as an LB but it's obvious he cannot play as a LWB. You are comparing him as a LWB to Echiejile LB play. False equivalents. How did our excellent RB Shehu fare as a RWB? 5 Likes |

Kog45:Pls Sir, don't let your love for aina make you blame someone else for his own personal error, the fact that he was subbed says it all. He was poor against both algeria and argentina period where he had more game time than the Zambian match Let's say it the way it is! |

realpoacher: If you calculate FIFA ranking arithmetically you would not get it. SHOCKER! Nigeria to drop points despite beating Argentina. The Algeria draw did the damage The total ranking points for October stood at 721 while the projected November points would be 671. Nigeria will fall places as even Teams like Cameroon and Australia will over take us. This is shocking but that is the calculation. One of the most controversial FIFA rankings is about to be released. 1 Like |

Mujtahida: Na grammar you dey talk, aina was poor, am not convinced! moreover it's not fair we are all giving akpeyi the sticks and making excuses for aina. We all know how we always come heavily on the good joe on this thread when he makes excuses for iheanacho. i will never be part of you guys making excuses for aina but coming heavily on akpeyi, not fair bruv 1 Like |

Goke7:Akpeyi had no reason to be poor moreover he's been tested severally. Shehu too was poor, Balogun too. Until Aina is played as a RB, I won't write him off. In fact apart from Akpeyi I am not going to write off any player. Not at all. Look at Ogu, they say he's slow, they say Iheanacho doesn't haven't good pace. but I saw yesterday that he's not. Bryan Idowu is a natural LB and Ebuehi too and you saw how they flourished. Rohr would learn a lesson yesterday. Play the players in their natural positions. Versatility is good but those playing in their natural positions should be more in number. It would provide balance for the team. 4 Likes |
