Mujtahida: with what you have said here, you and I know that aina chances of making the final team to russia is minimal except some other players are injured. The RB is surely btw shehu and ebuehi though I have seen you making a case for shehu to be pushed up into the midfield for your dear aina to have a chance but you are not rohr, we all thought aina had finally displaced elderson until yesterday's game though I already saw the signs against Algeria. Pray harder for aina to make the cut cos for now it's not looking too good for him |

Goke7:Only Akpeyi is out. Every other person has a robust chance of going to the WC. I doubted Musa but he was sharp yesterday. The thing is everyone's going to fight a good fight to go to Russia. Bros, I've read you here. You are not given to hasty conclusions. Don't do so now. Before yesterday, many said ooooh Shehu has locked down the RB. But look how Ebuehi has made a very strong statement with his formidable performance. He took many by surprise because some doubted his ability due to the fact that Rohr kept him on the bench for three straight games even the dead rubber against Algeria. Some saw that as a sign of Rohr's doubting the young man. But Ebuehi proved his doubters wrong- He was calm and his poise on the ball is lovely. Some even said he's edged out Shehu. But not yet for me. Aina might be tested there now and you be like wow, what a performance. You can never tell. Aina is not my 'dear Aina'. All of them are dear to me. I am eager for everyone of them to perform well. I said that Shehu should be moved to the midfield IF Aina gives a strong showing at RB. It's my way of accommodating him cos his versatility to play as RB and DMF would be needed. 3 Likes |

Gernot Rohr: It’s good victory for us but it doesn’t mean we’ve become favorites to win the World Cup. We stay humble & realize we have more work to do. We prepared well for this game because playing Argentina is big for us, maybe it is different for them. 4 Likes |

Mujtahida: agreed, thanks all I want is performance of every player, if they play well, we praise, if they fall hand we go shout. when mikel was fumbling, we gave him the sticks, when he started doing well, we praise him, that should be the standard, no excuse should be made for any player not doing well and I stand by that. |

Joebie:Coach is humble, boys are united, NFF dotting the correct dots and everyone is committed to hardwork. I just pray this team succeeds so that we can realise that if we plan and put people who really want national glory and success in positions we can succeed as a nation. 4 Likes 1 Share |

realpoacher: When you draw with a team that is ranked far below you, you lose points. The calculation is not all addition there are negative operations embedded in it. And besides it is a 4 year ranking period. Although the more recent results carry more weight. A bad result we got 3-4 years could also be a contributing factor. Thank God for that Argentina win else our ranking points would have been about 611. The win against Argentina brought it back to 671 Don't say I didn't tell you. You will see things for your self the day the ranking is released. 1 Like 1 Share |

How we accommodate iwobi in our conventional 4-2--3-1 that we play.. Maybe moses Simon will have to sit on the bench.. Iwobi is the truth 2 Likes |

As it stands, Aina will go to the world cup, because at least he has shown some potentials at the left, and he can play at the right. Echiejile is a dedicated LB, but still poor. He does not offer us options. Goke7: 6 Likes |

Mujtahida:Musa's experience can never be discounted, it was a psychological thing rohr did bringing in a musa who scored two goals against the same Argentina side back in 2014, his presence brought some decency and discipline, reason the game ended 4-2 as there was still chances for argentina to be back in the game before musa came on. I still insist that some players in the last world cup must be in this team to the world cup and musa is one of them. I laugh when I see calls for musa to be shown the way out. 3 Likes |

Goke7:Sure no one is or should be spared. Trust me even Aina knows he had a bad game. We can criticize them but let's not write anyone off. Except the one who according to the prophecy written in the holy book of football used his hand to spoil his own chance so that the word of the god of soccer might come to pass. Meanwhile I am worried about Balogun's lack of pace. Uche Agbo has not been tested. We need another grade A friendly so that we can SEE what those untested have inside: Kayode, Nwakali, Agbo. Nwakaeme should be given another opportunity. I just thank God for Ebuehi and Ogu. They took their opportunities kpom. 5 Likes |

I had said that we would need to keep on searching for more competition at LB, while Aina, Ebuehi and Shehu all battle it out at RB. Because as it stands Idowu has given us a good display. But we still need to see more from him. Echiejile does not meet the current WC standard. We are talking 2018. Goke7: |

Goke7:I was beginning to question his continued invitation oooo because of the availability of good options as wing forwards. But I am withdrawing my doubts. That precise pass to Iwobi was absolutely sublime. And apart from that he was bustling. Rohr has better wahala on his hands now- who to choose. |

John Ogu= Bakayoko of Chelsea Brian Idowu= Lacazette of Arsenal Don't blame me, blame the fans at the viewing centre I watched the two games at Iwobi's knack for stylishly drifted to centre to play 10 for both club and country has always'd produced goals. Back to school mode thus my silence. Our defence na oyinbo our mid back naija. 9 search continues. 2 Likes |

daveP:Gradually the defence is gelling. I see Awaziem and Omeruo being the two other CBs. Balogun needs to work on his pace. We won't be sentimental about 'oyibo wall' ooo. Ekong is tuning himself finely with every game and turning into a commander. Even Ebuehi was dishing instructions. We need to shop for one more attacker: would it be Kayode, Nwakaeme, Onuachu, Dessers? 5 Likes |

Who noticed the way Uzoho was shouting at his senior brothers in defence? Something Akpeyi can't do. Does he even know the rules of a gk? Papi Rohr gats start both Nacho and Iwobi henceforth IMHO. Their understanding is second to none on field of play. 7 Likes |

Angel Di Maria Point Out The Turning Point In Nigeria’s 4-2 Win Over Argentina Argentina forward Angel Di Maria has revealed the turning point for Nigeria in their 4-2 win over Argentina in today’s friendly game played in Krasnordar. Nigeria recovered from two goals down to win 4-2 thanks to goals from Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi and Brian Idowu but Di Maria said the goal by Iheanacho was the turning point of the game for the Nigerians. ” What a match. We started well, successfully held them in the early stages of the game, but the goal scored by Nigeria before the half time break was the turning point”, Di Maria said after the game. ” We were physically outplayed by a very strong opponent, and we calmed down a bit, and we paid for it. It’s good that this is not the World Cup yet. We will slowly sort things out”. Share this: 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Mujtahida:yeah Awaziem has improved on his handling of the ball. Balogun is off form for now and can be excused. That nomination gingered Ekong. The difference BTW Shehu and Ebuehi is while one sits back and frustates attacking opponents fullly.. .the other has pace to join the attack and still recover comfortably. Question is: Is Papi Rohr attempting looking stupid in tactic to make opponents loose guard. He just embarrassed the mist sort after manager in European club sphere. 2 Likes |

MetalJigsaw: It's obvious the Argentines were overwhelmed, I just hope our guys will spring up performances like this in the world cup proper, I remember we once beat France on their home soil in an international friendly, we need to start replicating performances like this in the main event, good to know that all the allowances and bonus issues have been sorted out by the nff, hope they won't back out on the agreement cos that's usually one of our main distractions at major tournaments 5 Likes |

TheGoodJoe:Well said the goodjoe. They slotted in seamlessly. The truth is that football is a dynamic game. If you stick rigidly to certain self - imposed criteria you might be cheating yourself. It's good to have guidelines but still be flexible Such mantras as these: *you never change a winning team *You must select from players who play in the best team and best leagues *You must play the experienced players *the old gaurd should be let off etc etc are good as guidelines but if you do not respond sometimes as the occasion demands, if you do not give room for human ingenuity to sometimes trump rules, you will ossiffy and be blown apart by your own rigidity and the dynamism of your opponents. We must always remember that man was not made for the law but the law for man. Bottom line: Let's have guidelines but let's not be rigid. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Mujtahida:he is extraordinarily needed in the team. I'm careful of hype that accompanies this win, but factually, the last time we came from goal deficit to stun our opponents was at Atlanta 96. I think the Eagles are searching for more prey in flight. |
